American Thinker: In Tennessee, Government Overreach Left An Elderly Woman Homeless
In Tennessee, Government Overreach Left An Elderly Woman Homeless
Supreme Court Judge Neil Gorsuch warns of civil liberty intrusions since March 2020. Municipalities and counties use excessive fines and fees to compensate for budget shortfalls, violating citizens' rights and generating conflicts of interest through the "Taxation By Citation" doctrine. Abuses occur in the Shelby County Environmental Court designed to deal with an epidemic of blight. Instead, the court operates in secret and has no oversight, leading to Kafkaesque abuses of citizens' rights. The Institute for Justice partners with Sarah Hohenberg to sue the court and other similar housing courts nationwide through a Due Process Clause violation.

American Thinker: Only certain Black lives matter to BLM
Only certain Black lives matter to BLM
The mismanagement of funds from Black Lives Matter has led to defunding. BLM did not live up to their name and only favored certain Black lives. They reduced the number of officers on the street, which led to an increase in crime that affected Blacks more than other racial groups. BLM enriched themselves instead of Black people, spending only a third of the money they received on charity. It's time to end the farce of BLM and send donations directly to neighborhood organizations that are working in the Black community.

Nuclear Power Is A Viable Option For Replacing Coal
The US has transitioned from coal-powered energy due to environmental regulations, natural gas competition, and cheaper renewable energy. However, reliable and affordable zero-emission power replacements are still needed. Nuclear power is a viable option, with the potential to save money and reduce emissions. The International Energy Agency suggests phasing out unabated coal power for rapid emissions reductions with nuclear power expected to play a key role in replacing coal-fired electricity generation. Converting coal plants to nuclear power could help retain workforces, stabilize the economy, and help the US meet its climate goals.
