The Epoch Times: Justice Thomas Issues Critical 50-Page Dissent in Key Supreme Court Case
Justice Clarence Thomas dissented in the Supreme Court's ruling that struck down Alabama's electoral map for congressional elections, arguing that the Voting Rights Act does not have a mandate for Alabama “intentionally redraw its longstanding congressional districts so that black voters can control a number of seats roughly proportional to the black share of the State’s population.” The ruling requires a new plan before the 2024 elections, which may benefit House Democrats. The Supreme Court disagreed with Alabama lawyers’ position on Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, stating that “racial gerrymandering, even for remedial purposes, may balkanize us into competing racial factions; it threatens to carry us further from the goal of a political system in which race no longer matters.”
American Thinker: The DOJ allegedly used coercion against an attorney working for a Trump defendant
Gimlet-eyed conservatives criticize the dirty tricks used by the DOJ in their indictment of Trump, including leaks and threats against a defendant's lawyer to turn on their client. The DOJ is also persecuting Navy veteran Walt Nauta, accusing him of helping Trump conceal documents. Nauta's lawyer alleges that a DOJ prosecutor threatened to derail his career aspirations if he didn't coerce Nauta into cooperating against Trump. This echoes what happened with General Mike Flynn's case, where his attorneys were also threatened by the DOJ.

The Blaze: 'Disgraceful': White House flies 'Progress Pride flag' at largest LGBTQ event ever held at South Lawn, Biden calls attendees 'bravest and most inspiring people'
The White House hosted its largest LGBTQ event ever with an "all-American picnic" to celebrate Pride month. President Biden addressed the crowd, expressing support for transgender children while criticizing Republican-led states that have passed anti-LGBTQ laws. Biden lauded attendees for their courage and their inspiring contributions to American life, promising to make protecting LGBTQ rights a top priority in foreign policy. The speech was delivered against the backdrop of a "Progress Pride flag" draped on the balcony of the White House, which sparked backlash from conservatives on Twitter.
National Review: The Corner: ‘For the Children’: The War against Pizza
Michael Gove's Planning Inspectorate has rejected an appeal by Papa Johns to open a new site in Tyneside, citing concerns over childhood obesity. Papa John's argued that the takeaway chain offered "healthy menu options, shows calorific values and does not fry products in contrast to other takeaways". However, the planning inspector concluded that the distance from schools "does not mean that children will not be exposed to its products". The Conservatives are allowing precedents to be set that will be taken further by Labour, when the Tories are swept out of office in the general election next year.

American Thinker: Thank the army, not the jungle, for the rescue of four Colombian children
Colombia's president calls four rescued children "children of the jungle" but they were disaster survivors and the heroism came from them, not the jungle. Their survival is not due to their indigenous heritage either. The kids were rescued by the Colombian army, who conducted a search, planned and experienced leaflet drops and brought the grandmother onboard the search. The jungle and its lefty romance had no role to play and this detracts from the true heroism of the children and those who rescued them.

Forbes: Like 2020 Pandemic, Major League Baseball Confronts Unforeseen Challenge With Broad Impact
Canadian wild fires caused hazardous air quality conditions in New York City, leading to the postponement of a game between the Yankees and White Sox. The air quality index reached emergency levels throughout the northeast, resulting in officials having to postpone a second game. Although MLB does not have a standard policy for poor air quality conditions, a Harvard Medical School physician warns the league and officials will face similar challenges with climate change and suggests preparing policies for future events.
The Epoch Times: Decoding Ketosis: 7 Biological Effects of the Ketogenic Diet
A ketogenic diet causes rapid weight loss and reduces appetite by consuming stored carbs and using fat for fuel. Once in ketosis, the brain burns ketone bodies instead of glucose, improving concentration. However, common side effects include insomnia, bad breath, and 'keto flu.’ Using ketosis test strips to determine daily ketone levels is a quick and inexpensive way to ensure the success of the diet.
