The American Spectator: The Age of the Coot
The majority of the leaders of the nine most populous countries are all men in their seventies and eighties, including President Biden, President Lula of Brazil, and Prime Minister Modi of India. In the US, the Supreme Court and over a third of the Senate are over 70, and the elderly also dominate the mainstream media. Although some leaders have changed constitutions to ensure eternal rule, elderly leaders are also popular choices in competitive electoral systems. Voters crave predictability and stability, and their message is that aging people can still be productive and make a difference, which creates a unified bloc with middle-aged voters who see elderly leaders as guarantors of the growing needs of an aging population.

The Epoch Times: Colorado's Most Destructive Wildfire Caused by Embers From Old Fire, Sparks From Power Line
A 2021 Colorado wildfire destroyed nearly 1,100 homes and left two people dead. Embers from a smoldering scrap wood fire set days earlier outside a home used by a Christian religious communal group along with a sparking power line caused the catastrophic blaze, which was fanned by high winds. Despite these findings, criminal charges were not warranted for either The Twelve Tribes that occupied the home or the utility in charge of the power line, according to Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty.

The Epoch Times: Oldest of 4 Siblings Who Survived Colombian Plane Crash Told Family Their Mother Lived for Days
Four Indigenous children were found alive after surviving a plane crash in the Colombian jungle, which occurred on May 1. Three adults on board did not survive. The children, members of the Huitoto Indigenous group aged 13, 9, 4 years and 11 months, remained hidden for two weeks while the army, Indigenous tribe volunteers and family members searched for them. The mother of two of the children survived the crash for four days before she died. The children are recovering in hospital, although one child has stated he wants to walk, but is in pain. The family survived by eating cassava flour and seeds and by eating fruits that only Indigenous peoples know are safe to eat in the rainforest. The American Spectator: The Second Trump Indictment Spells Trouble
Former President Trump has been indicted on 37 counts of criminal conduct, including unlawfully retaining classified documents, obstructing justice, making false statements to a grand jury, and disclosing defense information to unauthorized individuals. The charges could result in his conviction or a plea deal. The indictment reveals Trump's disrespect for keeping classified information secret and his poor judgment, as he allegedly disclosed classified information to two individuals who lacked security clearance. The incidents quoted in the indictment show Trump's recklessness in sharing classified information, and the Justice Department can easily prove his wrongdoing. The indictment carries a penalty of between ten and twenty years per count, which can interfere with Trump's ability to campaign for another term as president. However, it's unlikely that he will ever serve a day in prison.
