The Epoch Times: Aged Care Levy Possible, Says Minister
The Australian government is considering the introduction of a Medicare-style levy to fund better aged care standards. Aged Care Minister Anika Wells has cited two decades of inaction in the sector and the need for a serious, responsible and honest societal discussion on the subject. The proposed new aged care taskforce will consider funding options for the sector and investigate innovative models, such as village-style care seen in The Netherlands, aimed at providing a wider range of a choice to older Australians. The opposition has dismissed the idea of a taxpayer levy and called for more innovation and reform.

The Epoch Times: Canadian Chef Probed Over Australian Deaths by Suicide
Canadian chef Kenneth Law is accused of selling suicide kits online, offering poisonous substances to at-risk individuals. The Australian Federal Police and other agencies are investigating Law, following the suspected deaths of at least 10 Australians. With one US teen also linked to Law’s activities, the multi-agency probe is also believed to cover sending the lethal substances to other countries including the UK and New Zealand. Law has been charged in Ontario following two deaths. Police say that their investigation has discovered evidence of Law sending 1,200 deadly packages to 40 countries.
Fox News: 4 shot, injured during alleged 'targeted' funeral procession in suburban Chicago
A funeral procession in Oak Park, Illinois was targeted by a gunman on Saturday afternoon, leaving four people shot and injured. While traveling westbound, a white pick-up truck pulled alongside one of the vehicles in the procession and began firing. Oak Park Police Chief Shatonya Johnson confirmed that there was no longer any threat to the community, emphasizing the need to bring those responsible to justice and eliminate gun violence in communities.
