Fox News: Big Government controls our lives with more rules than anyone knows
Big Government controls our lives with more rules than anyone knows
The federal government threatens to withhold Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP funds from a Catholic hospital in Oklahoma for keeping a small candle burning in its chapel, calling it a safety risk. This is just one example of the absurdities of administrative rule, where nearly every aspect of citizens' lives is regulated by obnoxious laws enforced by bureaucrats who nobody voted for. This is America's system of government. The problem is that none of us voted for or has any ability to vote against these laws, and nobody can possibly comply with the law because nobody can know it.

Newsbusters: 20 Years Ago: Media Saluted Hillary’s ‘Candid’ Scandal Fairy Tale
20 Years Ago: Media Saluted Hillary’s ‘Candid’ Scandal Fairy Tale
Hillary Clinton's memoir, Living History, received favorable coverage from the media in 2003, despite the fact that it contained falsehoods about her previous claims regarding her husband's affair with Monica Lewinsky. While in 1998, Clinton had claimed that the scandal was the result of a "vast right-wing conspiracy," in her book she claimed that she only learned about her husband's infidelity in August of that year. Despite conflicting accounts, the media presented her revised version of events unquestioningly, even lobbying her to run for President. The media's willingness to serve the ambitions of a Democratic Senator showed their partisan bias and lack of accountability.

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Quits as MP Ahead of Verdict on Partygate Scandal
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned as an MP ahead of a final verdict from the House of Commons Privileges Committee, which has been investigating whether he misled Parliament regarding COVID-19 rules. Despite the committee having a Conservative majority, Johnson labelled the proceedings a “witch hunt” designed to drive him out of office and cited “egregious bias”. He defended his record in office and criticised current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, saying the Conservative Party needs a “pro-growth and pro-investment agenda”. The committee will publish its report shortly.

The Epoch Times: Trudeau Makes Surprise Visit to Ukraine
Trudeau Makes Surprise Visit to Ukraine
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an unannounced trip to Kyiv to show support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, and was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland. Trudeau and Freeland laid a wreath at the Wall of Remembrance at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery for Ukrainians who died defending their homeland before meeting with Ukrainian soldiers. They then met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Russia has claimed that Ukraine's promised spring counteroffensive is already happening, with "heavy battles" underway and Russian forces in the southern Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions launching air and artillery strikes. Britain's defense ministry reported "significant Ukrainian operations" in the east and south since Thursday morning.

Forbes: Uh Oh, Netflix’s Password Sharing Crackdown Is Actually Working
Uh Oh, Netflix’s Password Sharing Crackdown Is Actually Working
Netflix's new password sharing rules have caused a 102% increase in US sign-ups since January 2019, and could lead to other streaming platforms following their lead. Netflix charges $8 for an extra account on their two highest-priced plans, but does not allow extra accounts on their two lowest-priced plans. While some consumers may be unhappy about this change, the stock market has been favorable to Netflix, with a 25% increase in the last month and a 129% increase in the last year. Other streaming services such as HBO, Amazon, Apple, Hulu, Disney, and Peacock may follow Netflix's lead in implementing similar crackdowns on password sharing.

Spectator USA: Georgia O’Keeffe wants you to take your time
Georgia O’Keeffe wants you to take your time
Georgia O'Keeffe's works on paper play a key role in her early experimentation and art, according to MoMA's exhibition "Georgia O'Keeffe: To See Takes Time." The exhibition shows 120 of O'Keeffe's works from charcoal sketches to grainy graphite and is the first retrospective MoMA has done on O'Keefe since 1946. The exhibition is divided into works ranging from 1915-1918 and 1922-1964, showing her process in chronological order. The exhibition lacks the heft and meat of her later, more famous desert-infused paintings of bone and horn, but still succeeds in drawing viewers in to see the detail and beauty of her work.

Fox News: After bedbug invasion at Hawaii airport, what to know and how to recognize the nasty pests
After bedbug invasion at Hawaii airport, what to know and how to recognize the nasty pests
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu shut down three gates in Terminal 2 after receiving notice that bedbugs were present. Hawaii's Department of Transportation promptly cleaned the area and removed anything that may have attracted the bugs. However, they only confirmed that they were indeed bedbugs following further contact from SouthWest airline, after which the three gates underwent deep cleaning. SouthWest Airlines has extensive measures to ensure bug-free areas and washing bites with soap and water or applying over-the-counter corticosteroid creams can soothe bedbug bites.

To Deliver on Her Campaign Promise on Health Care, Smith Needs Innovative Solutions: Analysts
Danielle Smith, the new Alberta premier, has dismissed the entire Alberta Health Services board and appointed a single administrator to establish health-care reform more quickly. The system needs sweeping changes, and the province should look to successful models around the world. Nadeem Esmail, a senior fellow at the Fraser Institute says that "tinkering with the number of administrators and spending more money are not the solution" and proposes that "activity-based funding" should be introduced. Esmail suggests that Quebec is introducing activity-based funding and Alberta should follow that lead. In addition, Colin Craig, president of the SecondStreet.org think tank also believes that Smith should look outside of Alberta for good models, and could potentially consider private clinics to try and reduce the surgical backlog.

The Federalist Papers: Retailers Horrified as Radical Bill Passes California Senate - Shoplifters Could Be About to Win Big
Retailers Horrified as Radical Bill Passes California Senate - Shoplifters Could Be About to Win Big
California Senate Bill 553 has passed the state Senate and will be reviewed by the policy committees in the state Assembly. The controversial bill prevents employers from asking store employees to confront shoplifters and has angered business owners who say it will embolden shoplifters. Supporters say the bill will keep employees safe, but business owners argue it will make it open season for shoplifters. A 2020 survey by the National Retail Federation found that retailers are losing almost $100 billion a year to theft. Critics of the bill argue its message to shoplifters is that they will likely not be prevented from robbing stores blind.

Blue Jays Cut Pitcher Who Apologized For Sharing Video On Bud Light, Target Boycotts
The Toronto Blue Jays have cut pitcher Anthony Bass, with performance being the main factor, but distraction also playing a role. Bass had previously apologized for sharing a video on social media that encouraged Christians to boycott Bud Light and Target, making a Biblical case against businesses pushing people towards "darkness." Bass initially apologized but recently backtracked, stating he stands by his beliefs. The decision to cut him was a baseball decision to make the team better.

$355-Million Mets Searching For Answers
The New York Mets, owned by financial giant Steve Cohen and with a payroll of $355 million, suffered their seventh straight loss, a 14-7 defeat to the Pirates, after being swept by the Braves in a three-game series. The Mets are 30-34 for the season, 9 ½ games behind the Braves, and their prime slugger, Pete Alonso, will miss at least three weeks with a bruised and sprained wrist. They are also facing an aging team, with six of their nine position players over 30 and both their front-line pitchers over 38 years old. The Mets face an uphill battle to get back on track and Lindor acknowledges that they will need to focus on doing "the little things right."
