National Review: Boris Johnson Resigns from Parliament, Blames ‘Kangaroo Court’ Determined to Oust Him
Boris Johnson Resigns from Parliament, Blames ‘Kangaroo Court’ Determined to Oust Him
Ex-UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson resigns from Parliament, claiming a "witch hunt" is underway to avenge Brexit and reverse the 2016 referendum result. Johnson cited the House of Commons ethics committee investigation into lockdown parties at No. 10 Downing Street during the pandemic as an example of biased scrutiny. The former PM pointed out inaccuracies and "prejudice" in the committee's report and declared, "This is the very definition of a kangaroo court." Despite leaving the door open for a possible future return, a political comeback for Johnson appears less likely after this move. He also criticized current PM Rishi Sunak, saying the government needs to recapture its sense of momentum and consider free trade with the US. Two Johnson allies also quit, paving the way for special elections and an uneasy situation for Sunak, whose party's narrower path to victory in the next national election polls indicate.

PJ Media: A Bright Spot in America's Democrat-Run Cities
A Bright Spot in America's Democrat-Run Cities
The Bible Project explores the theme of the city, highlighting the good and bad aspects of human nature, and how culture and crime flourish in urban areas. Cities today face issues such as crime and corruption, illegal immigration, and a rise in racial and political animosity, often due to Democrats' policies. However, Atlanta's mayor Andre Dickens has taken the initiative to curb crime and promote law enforcement training, despite backlash from domestic terrorists linked to Antifa and Stacey Abrams' endorsed groups. The Atlanta City Council voted to fund the law enforcement training center, surprising many who expected the city to cave in to the woke mob.

Blue Jays GM says 'distraction' was a ‘small part’ in Anthony Bass being designated for assignment
The Toronto Blue Jays designated right-handed pitcher Anthony Bass for assignment due to his on-field performance and "distraction" caused by his social media video endorsing boycotts against Target and Bud Light. The decision was made just before the start of their Pride Weekend celebration. Bass apologized for the post, calling it a "distraction," and stood by his personal beliefs. The team's general manager said it was a baseball decision to make the team better, but "distraction" did play a role.

The Blaze: Smoke from Canada's wildfires caused US solar power production to plunge over 50%
Smoke from Canada's wildfires caused US solar power production to plunge over 50%
Wildfires in Canada have led to a significant decrease in solar power production in New England, with solar farms generating 56% less power during periods of maximum demand than the previous week. There are concerns over the lack of historical data to address the issue. Given that solar power only accounts for roughly 3% of New England’s electricity compared to 52% from natural gas and 26% from nuclear, the reduced production did not cause any power outages. Smoky conditions have caused solar power reductions in Australia and other US states as well.

Red State: 20-Year-Old Climate Cultist Greta Thunberg Finally Graduates From High School, Lauds Her 'Accomplishments'
20-Year-Old Climate Cultist Greta Thunberg Finally Graduates From High School, Lauds Her 'Accomplishments'
Greta Thunberg, the climate activist who once predicted humanity would be wiped out by 2023 if fossil fuels are not eliminated, graduated from high school at 20 and ended her school strike for the climate, marking her last day of student strikes. Thunberg boasted about forming a global movement, Fridays For Future, which became a movement where millions of youth strike from schools for the climate, but offered no specific accomplishments. Critics say Thunberg and her activism are based on narratives seeking facts that do not exist and are not close to the extent claimed.

The New American: Climate Alarmists Hyperventilate Amid Smoky NYC Skies. Is Climate Change Truly Fueling Canada's Wildfires? - The New American
Climate Alarmists Hyperventilate Amid Smoky NYC Skies. Is Climate Change Truly Fueling Canada's Wildfires? - The New American
Smoke from wildfires in Canada has reached New York City causing climate alarmists to claim that this is what climate change looks like. However, even the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has hesitated to connect wildfires with climate change, instead choosing to emphasize “fire weather,” not the fires themselves. The fact of the matter is, over the long haul, wildfires have decreased greatly from their historical highs in the United States. Even the U.S. federal government’s own data prove that the number and scale of wildfires have decreased dramatically since the 1930s. Wildfires in the United States destroyed more than 50 million acres in 1930. The same can be said for Canada, although the 2023 season, having started so early, is so far on pace to be one of the worst fire seasons in the nation’s history.

Part of the reason for the uptick in fires is because of 20th-century fire suppression techniques have allowed vast amounts of fuel to build up in heavily forested areas. In more natural ecosystem wildfires are an integral part of forest management, with such kindling burning off periodically. Due to the buildup of fuel for the fires — dead trees and other forest detritus — in Quebec, it was inevitable that large fires would occur eventually in the region. Fear sells and politicians who have relatively little knowledge of the wildfires in Canada need only to show the shrouded New York skyline to insinuate that it’s climate change-related, even though evidence strongly suggests otherwise.
