Newsbusters: Column: Blame the Media for the National Debt
Democrats and Republicans have agreed to raise the debt ceiling, but America's national debt continues to rise. The media fails to offer basic budget facts, instead choosing to focus on horse-race jockeying and finger-pointing. In evening-news stories on the spending debate, Republicans were often characterized as extreme, and blame was mostly attributed to them, with Democrats never being criticized for being extreme. The media has contributed to the size of the national debt over the years by using fear-mongering tactics to scare Republicans from attempting spending restraint.
Washington Free Beacon: Russia Pulled Out of Its Nuclear Transparency Pact With the United States. The Biden Administration Still Shares Sensitive Data.
The Biden administration has resumed public disclosure of sensitive nuclear data under the New START treaty with Russia, despite Moscow’s departure from the pact amid its war in Ukraine. The move aims to show responsible nuclear conduct and increase transparency. However, defense experts warned that Moscow may use the information to bolster its own nuclear capabilities and that publishing the data directly after Russia’s tactical nuclear deployment in Belarus was a major escalation. Senator Ted Cruz criticized the White House for threatening American national security, while other foreign policy issues have also landed the administration in the hot seat.
Red State: WATCH: Joe Scarborough Whines About People Who 'Get Paid a Lot of Money' to Say 'Catastrophic' Things
Leftist Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” criticized those who get paid to say “catastrophic” things on TV and podcasts despite his own history of venomous attacks on Donald Trump. Scarborough praised Joe Biden and Kevin McCarthy for reaching an agreement in principle in the debt ceiling battle, while conveniently ignoring McCarthy’s folding on conservative fiscal policy. Though Scarborough himself promotes discord and division daily, he failed to see his own hypocrisy in calling out those who promote such things. His elitist attitude blinds him to his own faults.

American Thinker: You Asked for a Rebuttal, Dad
Vanity Fair accuses the GOP of banning books, but fails to describe their content. The article stirs anti-right sentiment but provides no cogent argument to support its claims. These books contain graphic sexual content that is inappropriate for children, and banning them from children's spaces is age-appropriate discrimination.

Washington Free Beacon: Biden Admin Unveils $1.5 Million Effort To 'Empower' Female Climate Activists in Northern Kenya
The Biden administration plans to spend $1.5 million of taxpayer funds to empower female climate change activists in northern Kenya. The funding aims to enhance adaptive capabilities to climate change and improve women's participation in decision-making. The funding announcement is part of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) $150 billion plan to build an "equitable world with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions," which includes funding to support overseas climate activists. Critics argue that the USAID's spending on foreign climate activism is a waste of taxpayer funds that should be used to support Americans .

Former Connecticut state Rep. Michael DiMassa faces more than four years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines for stealing more than $1.2 million from the city of West Haven. DiMassa pleaded guilty in November to three counts of wire fraud conspiracy. Most of the funds were taken fraudulently from federal coronavirus-related aid to fuel a gambling addiction. He was also involved in several other schemes with other individuals, including a business partner and his wife. DiMassa has asked the judge for leniency, citing his debilitating gambling addiction.
