Fox News: ‘I think we’d give up at some point’: Seattle business owner struggles after 11 break-ins, blames city council
Seattle business owner Kevin Rinderle blames the city council for enabling criminals as his family's two stores struggle to stay afloat following 11 break-ins last year, with retail businesses in Washington having lost over $2.7bn to theft in 2021. Rinderle says he has lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in repairs to the two stores and merchandise. He believes Seattle's "extremely far-left" city council, which reduced police funding for years, is responsible for fostering a relaxed mentality on crime and enabling organized criminals. Rinderle hopes that November's elections will bring more moderate city council candidates to the forefront.

Forbes: Monchi At Roma: The Downfall Of The ‘Messi Of Recruitment’
Spaniard Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, aka Monchi, was given the keys to the Roma kingdom when he became sporting director in the summer of 2017, following a €5m buyout of his Sevilla contract. But his return to the club where he had previously been a player was fleeting, as Monchi left again after just two seasons. Given his comments since departing Italy, it seems clear Monchi perhaps didn't understand the scale of the job at Roma nor the size of the club. He said: "In Rome, I didn’t have time to correct my mistakes. When I arrived people thought that in addition to signing the players I would score and save penalties".
Monchi's reputation was made from finding unknown gems and selling them for colossal sums of money. But the same formula did not work at Roma and many players left before Monchi could find adequate replacements. His reputation damaged by a poor stint in Italy, Monchi has returned to the relative safe haven of Sevilla in Spain and the team won yet another Europa League title in 2020. However, his reputation as one of the best sporting directors in the game has never truly been the same. Though Sevilla has won six Europa League titles under his leadership, Inter Milan ended Juventus' dominance of the Italian game in 2021, leaving Roma looking like Monchi's biggest failure.
