The CCP may be planning a full-on invasion of Taiwan, if the latter remains resolute. The United States and its allies should deter China by extending the US nuclear umbrella over Taiwan, ramping up the US Seventh Fleet presence in and around Taiwan, and accelerating arms delivery to Taiwan.
Taiwan is the last obstacle standing to the CCP's Greater China policy. The Sudetenland in 1938 and Taiwan in 2023 share the same geopolitical features. If America and its allies appease China, they might end up fighting an even bigger war, much like what happened in 1939. Rather than letting China achieve its military ambitions, the United States should take concrete military measures to deter Xi and his megalomaniacal goals, such as deploying HIMARS, ATACMS support detachments, and F-35 detachments.
