PJ Media: Trump's Truth Social Ramblings Are Reaching Kamala Harris-Levels of Incoherence
Trump's Truth Social Ramblings Are Reaching Kamala Harris-Levels of Incoherence
Donald Trump's recent actions are causing confusion and disappointment for some of his supporters. Trump's current stance is unrecognizable to the one he held when he was president, such as his praise for Andrew Cuomo's COVID response. His attempts to fire up his base with press releases like his recent one featuring a playground taunt do not seem to be making a case for him to win over undecided voters. These actions are seen as nonsensical and reflective of someone who wants to try stand-up comedy but falls flat with his jokes.

The American Spectator: France’s Ban on Short-Haul Flights Makes No Sense
France’s Ban on Short-Haul Flights Makes No Sense
French President Emmanuel Macron's ban on short-haul flights is riddled with many exceptions, leading to fewer carbon emissions than he's lead the world to believe. The ban may worsen real problems, so Veronique de Rugy proposes to look beyond the immediate effects of government intervention. She points out the ban may lead to more people traveling by automobile, which burns more fossil fuel per passenger mile than commercial aircraft and could lead to more roadway deaths. Politicians tend to favor appearance over substance, and their theatrics can have deadly consequences.

ANALYSIS: Texas Lt. Gov. Patrick Says Gov. Abbott 'Misinformed' on House's Property Relief Plan
Continued infighting among three of Texas' top Republican lawmakers is creating tension in the state's Capitol following the House's impeachment of the attorney general. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick criticised Gov. Greg Abbott's comments, taking credit for the House's property tax cut bill, sparking further disagreement amongst Republican leaders. While Abbott intends to sign a law providing the biggest property tax cut in Texas' history, Senate counterpart, Patrick, remains opposed to the House version of the bill, stating that homeowners expected more relief, not less.

University of Colorado Warns Students to Be Woke, Calls Misgendering 'an Act of Violence'
Using the wrong pronoun for someone may be considered an act of violence, according to the University of Colorado. The school's Pride Office has set out guidelines on speech, stating that respecting someone means using their preferred pronoun, even when they are not present. Failure to do so could lead to exclusion, alienation, and feelings of disrespect. The Office's advice is to use they/them pronouns unless the person has indicated otherwise.

This Bud’s Definitely Not for You
Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser and Bud Light have not tweeted since mid-April due to the transgender controversy surrounding their marketing partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, causing a nasty consumer backlash. Sales of Bud Light have decreased by almost 30% for the week ending May 20, while competitors including Coors Light and Miller Lite have benefited. Brands such as Budweiser and Michelob have also reported declines in sales. The company must return to its customers and understand their mentality in order to regain its panache.

The Epoch Times: Australian New Housing Approvals Plummeted to Decade Low, Deepening Housing Crisis Concerns
Australian New Housing Approvals Plummeted to Decade Low, Deepening Housing Crisis Concerns
New housing approvals in Australia hit an 11-year low in April, as the number of approved apartments, townhouses and semi-detached houses dropped 16.5% to 3,545, the lowest figure in 11 years, taking housing approvals down 8.1% from March. The detached house sector also weakened further, with approvals dropping 3.6% and 3.7% in April and March respectively. The lack of new housing approvals is expected to deepen the rental and affordability crisis across the nation, as tenants face rapidly rising rents and the supply of properties dwindles. Some people are experiencing rent increases of up to 30.8% in comparison to their income. This decline exacerbates an existing supply and demand issue in the housing industry as Australia expects two percent population growth from international students and migrants.

The American Spectator: ‘Science’ Tells Us Energy and Cement Companies Cause Wildfires
‘Science’ Tells Us Energy and Cement Companies Cause Wildfires
A new study by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) claims that energy corporations are now directly linked to worsening forest fires across the western United States. The study states that nearly 20 million acres of burned forest can be attributed to heat-trapping emissions traced to the world’s 88 largest fossil fuel producers and cement manufacturers. The study offers policymakers, elected officials, and legal experts a scientific basis for holding fossil fuel companies accountable for the impacts of their products and their decades-long deception efforts.

California-bred writer Lloyd Billingsley argues that the recent analysis by the Union of Concerned Scientists does not accurately address forest fire causes. He points out that the number of California’s mid-elevation Ponderosa pine and mixed conifer forests has swelled from 60 trees per acre to 170 trees per acre, and that the reluctance to reduce excessive tree density has played a significant role in California wildfires. He recommends “proactive forest management,” “forest restoration,” and “more prescribed or controlled burns.” Additionally, “private-property owners” must be allowed “to more easily remove trees … through forest thinning and the creation of breaks [in vegetation], especially near communities.”
