The Australian public service union rejects the government's offer of a 10.5 percent pay rise over three years, with CPSU members calling for better financial support. The union have lodged an application with the Fair Work Commission for a protected action ballot at the Services Australia department, which houses the largest number of Australia Public Service employees. Forbes: To Address Bullpen Shortfall, The Tampa Bay Rays Should Deal From Their Infield Excess
The MLB-leading Tampa Bay Rays are struggling with their bullpen, with injuries and inconsistent performances leading to blown saves and late-inning fragility. While the team has a surplus of quality infielders, it is unlikely that they will want to trade any of their key players for bullpen help. Instead, they will have to look to their farm system for prospects to trade, specifically from their infield depth, to address their bullpen weakness. However, given their own infield prospect depth, it may be difficult for them to put together a package tempting enough to secure a quality closer like Alexis Diaz from the Cincinnati Reds.
Forbes: Can Milwaukee Bucks Afford Their Core Under New CBA?
The Milwaukee Bucks were shocked by the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs, leading to the firing of coach Mike Budenholzer and the hiring of first-time head coach Adrian Griffin. With a need to stay under the second tax apron of $175 million due to future financial constraints, the Bucks may need to salary dump off contracts of notable role players like Bobby Portis, Pat Connaughton, or Grayson Allen. However, the team could keep Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez at reasonable prices while upgrading their coaching staff to stay atop the Eastern Conference hierarchy.
