Washington Free Beacon: Trump Says He'll End Birthright Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants' Children if Reelected President
Donald Trump promises to ban birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants if he is reelected, saying it will deter more migrants from coming and encourage many of the aliens Joe Biden has unlawfully let into the country to go back to their homes. He called it an "unfair practice" and said he will end "birth tourism" on his first day in office. However, former House speaker Paul Ryan, a Republican, said in 2018 that Trump cannot do that through an executive order and that conservatives believe in the Constitution, which guarantees the right to citizenship to people born in the U.S. and subject to its jurisdiction.

The Epoch Times: Trudeau and Poilievre Spar Over Tory Leader's Refusal to Be Briefed on Foreign Interference
Trudeau accuses Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre of refusing to receive a confidential intelligence briefing on foreign interference, following special rapporteur David Johnston’s first report. Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet and Poilievre refused to look at secret intelligence information that Johnston recommends. Poilievre responded by saying that the government would not be enforcing an oath of secrecy regarding the briefing if it didn’t contain any controversial information.
Fox News: White House kills another top Biden nominee amid mounting opposition
President Biden's nomination of Ann Carlson, who was set to lead the Department of Transportation safety subagency, was withdrawn by the White House late on Tuesday. This marks the third Biden nominee that has been withdrawn from the Senate Commerce Committee following Gigi Sohn and Phillip Washington. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, led the opposition to all three of the nominees, citing concerns about Carlson's record and potential leadership of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Many oil and gas industry groups, as well as major agriculture groups, have also opposed Carlson's nomination due to her past climate activism.
Carlson, previously an environmental law professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, was hired as NHTSA's chief counsel by the Biden-Harris transition team in January 2021. As acting administrator of the agency since September, Carlson played a key role in modifying fuel economy standards. Emails reviewed by Fox News in April 2021 suggested that Carlson was selected to serve at NHTSA in a climate-focused role, and numerous stakeholders have opposed her nomination based on her past activism. Despite her expertise in climate, NHTSA's mission is to "save lives, prevent injuries and reduce economic costs due to road traffic crashes."
Daily Wire: Band Of House Republicans Stand Against Debt Ceiling Deal
As many as 20 House Republicans oppose the debt ceiling deal reached between Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the White House, viewing it as too watered down. The House Freedom Caucus led the GOP charge against the compromise, meaning a bipartisan vote will be necessary for passage as Republicans hold a narrow majority in the lower chamber. The legislation faces its first major test in the House Rules Committee on Tuesday where several amendments have been offered by Republicans and Democrats alike.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has issued multiple warnings about how the United States may not be able to meet all its financial obligations as early as June. The Treasury Department said it has been enacting "extraordinary measures" since earlier this year when the United States hit its statutory limit of roughly $31.4 trillion, and has warned of dire economic consequences if the country is unable to reach a deal to lift the debt ceiling. Certain House Republicans lamented the apparent death of the Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, a bill the GOP-led House passed last month in favor of a thinned-out compromise.
Forbes: AOC Threatens Musk For Promoting Her Twitter Impersonator
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hinted at taking action against Twitter after Elon Musk interacted with a popular satirical account using the politician’s likeness. Ocasio-Cortez is "assessing with my team how to move forward" with the account, which spreads "false" information.
National Review: ‘What Basis Is There for Confidence?’: House Freedom Caucus Decries McCarthy and Debt Deal
House Freedom Caucus expresses frustration over debt ceiling deal brokered by Speaker Kevin McCarthy with President Biden, accusing McCarthy of negotiating their priorities away and questioning his fitness for the position of Speaker of the House. McCarthy offered a statement in defense of the deal, which includes historic reductions in spending, reforms to lift people out of poverty into the workforce, and no new taxes or government programs. Some GOP representatives have vowed to vote against the compromise and accuse McCarthy of betrayal of the power-sharing arrangement, which he made to secure their votes in the speakership election marathon in January.

Human Events: ‘Bed rotting’ is Gen Z’s latest, entitled self-care trend

The Epoch Times: PetSmart Latest Company to Face Outrage Over LGBT Pride Promotion
PetSmart faces online backlash over its new "You Are Loved" collection featuring LGBT-themed merchandise for pets. The collection, which includes rainbow-colored clothes, toys, and other items for a range of pets, was launched to coincide with Pride Month. However, conservative customers have taken to social media to express their displeasure and are calling for the store to be added to a boycott list that already includes Target and Bud Light. PetSmart has donated $200,000 to the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) this year as part of its "commitment to the LGBTQ+ community," and GLSEN encourages teachers not to tell parents if their child is changing gender identity.
Daily Wire: Catholic MLB Pitcher Slams Dodgers For Honoring Drag ‘Nuns’
Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams has criticized the Los Angeles Dodgers for honoring an anti-Catholic drag group during their “Pride Night” celebration. The “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” was due to receive a “Community Hero Award” at the event, but has since been demoted to appearing in “a recorded segment.” Williams, a member of Catholic men’s group the Knights of Columbus, said the organization’s mockery of Catholic traditions was “grossly disrespectful” and that the Dodgers needed to create “an inclusive environment” that did not disrespect fans’ beliefs ( ).
Spectator USA: The New Yorker: Latinos can be white supremacists, too
The New Yorker claims that white supremacy is the root cause behind "crazy, evil" people who commit heinous crimes. The latest piece by Geraldo Cadava discusses the "rise of Latino white supremacy" and how such extremists commit mass shootings to fit into America's "racial and capitalist order" or to attain "multiracial whiteness." He implies that Americans, especially white Americans, are to blame as Latino assimilation apparently requires them to adopt violent American ways. The article suggests that white-power ideology is spreading rapidly domestically and abroad, driving perceived threats of Latino assimilation and mass shootings.

The Epoch Times: China to Become Biggest Challenger to UK's Economic Security in 2030, Defence Intelligence Chief
China will be the greatest challenge to the UK’s overseas interests and economic security by 2030, according to Adrian Bird, the chief of defence intelligence. While Russia will remain the greatest threat to the UK mainland, China will compete more directly with the UK across its areas of interest due to its technological dominance ambitions. Beijing can disrupt the UK’s supplies of key technologies and materials, including semiconductors and rare earth elements, which are essential for a wide range of industries. The regime’s military, intelligence, space, and cyber capabilities are also posing increasing threats.
The COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical tensions, particularly over a potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan, are prompting countries to mitigate supply chain and national security risks. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has declared that the so-called golden era of Sino-British relationship is over, but he and Foreign Secretary James Cleverly have argued that there’s a need to engage with Beijing on global issues. However, critics have argued it’s “wishful thinking” to expect a communist regime to cooperate. Adrian Bird warned that the pace of technological change will allow the UK’s adversaries and competitors to achieve a “rapid evolution in their capability to challenge the UK and our interests”, and that the UK must keep pace.

Newsbusters: CNN Suggests GOP Is Against the Public Good Citing IRS Spending Cuts
CNN's Christine Romans criticized Republicans for cutting the proposed budget for the IRS from $80 billion to $60 billion, ignoring the agency's history of targeting conservatives. Romans argued that the reduction in funding would hinder the modernization and hiring of new IRS workers, while ignoring the fact that the White House believes that the agency can still enforce taxes without the additional $20 billion. Romans' anti-Republican reporting was sponsored by Tide.
Fox News: DeSantis scorches 'totally inadequate' debt ceiling deal: We are 'careening toward bankruptcy'

He was joined by other prominent Republicans, including Rep. Chip Roy and Sen. Lindsey Graham, who have criticized the deal as a "disaster."
Forbes: Book Review: George Gilder’s ‘Life After Capitalism’
George Gilder's new book, Life After Capitalism, proposes a new economic theory based on the importance of knowledge creating wealth rather than individual tax rates, with Gilder dismissing the notion of "incentive economics" put forth by supply-siders. Gilder argues that wealth is created by knowledge, and while billionaires like Jeff Bezos may work relentlessly regardless of tax rates, they cannot innovate without capital. Tax rates have a large impact on what funding governments have available to allocate to new information, thereby constraining knowledge creation and preventing progress. Gilder points out that the roots of modern economics, specifically emergency socialism and monetarism, have contributed to the current system suppressing the surprises of capitalist innovation.

Red State: Catholic MLB Pitcher Trevor Williams Asks Dodgers to Reconsider Honoring Group Which 'Grossly Disrespects and Openly Mocks' Faith
The Los Angeles Dodgers have come under fire for honoring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an anti-Catholic group, during their Pride Night. Many Catholics and Christians, including MLB players Clayton Kershaw and Trevor Williams, have spoken out against the team’s decision, calling it disrespectful and against the values of inclusivity and respect. Williams, a devout Catholic originally from Southern California, said that the Dodgers were violating their own discrimination policy and urged them to reconsider their association with the group.
Washington Free Beacon: MLB Pitcher Slams Dodgers for Honoring Anti-Catholic LGBT Group
Trevor Williams, a pitcher for the Washington Nationals, criticized the Dodgers for inviting anti-Catholic group "The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" to participate in its Pride Night festivities. Williams believes it is important for baseball games to be inclusive and inviting a group that demeans and disrespect the Catholic faith goes against that aim. The Dodgers originally uninvited the group, but after facing backlash from the LGBT and leftist communities, reissued the invitation. The statement comes after Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw advocated for the team to relaunch its day honoring the Christian faith, which it held in years past.

The video was posted on TikTok by a mother and has earned over 7 million views. The man, known as "Nick", is being criticised as 'creepy' and sending predator vibes. Some online users feel this is part of "Disney’s descent into LGBT propagandizing" as it aims to become more inclusive. Nonetheless, Disney has been previously referred to as a “woke company”; having already shrugged off substantial losses due to the box office failure of woke films promoting the LGBT agenda and running woke campaigns in various media.

Over 180 people who attended a CDC conference in Atlanta in April have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a recent survey. The conference was for Epidemic Intelligence Service officers and alumni and was held during a period of low COVID community levels when masks were not recommended. Attendees who had received at least one dose of the vaccine tested positive, and several attendees notified conference organizers on the last day of the event that they had tested positive for the virus. The Epoch Times: A Cheat Sheet for Legislators Regarding the WHO and Health Emergencies
The World Health Organization (WHO) is becoming increasingly privately directed, with funding from private entities and limited accountability to those it seeks to control. By ceding power to the WHO, democratic states are sharing decision-making power over the health of their own citizens with non-democratic states. Centralized approaches to health require communities and individuals to comply with dictates that ignore local heterogeneity and community priorities, contradicting good public health policy. Real pandemics are rare events, and it makes no sense to grant a poorly accountable institution powers that contradict democratic norms.

Fox News: Los Angeles man who avoided prison for near-fatal stabbing now charged with neighbor's murder
Stefen Sutherland, who received mental health diversion instead of jail time for a 2020 stabbing, has been charged with his neighbor's murder. Critics say the earlier crime was under-charged as assault rather than attempted murder, and his probation officer had warned that he posed a risk of further violence. District Attorney George Gascon's office defended the decision, saying Sutherland met the eligibility criteria for diversion and had completed nearly two years of treatment without issue. Gomez's slaying comes weeks after another diversion recipient, Jade Simone Brookfield, was accused of murder. Critics point to long-standing failures by state and local officials to provide appropriate facilities and laws that make it nearly impossible to deny diversion to those with serious mental health issues.
