PJ Media: NYC Mayor Eric Adams Delivers a Fiery, Patriotic Memorial Day Speech Denouncing Left-Wing Ideologies
New York City Mayor Eric Adams spoke out against socialism and communism in his Memorial Day speech, referencing Thomas Jefferson and the "Tree of Liberty." He bemoaned the lack of patriotism among the nation's young, drawing pushback from progressive Democrats who criticized his failure to condemn fascism. Adams is a Democrat and supports his city's sanctuary policies, as well as Obamacare, gun control, and other social programs; however, he separates himself from the radicals in his party by advocating for more police and stronger law enforcement.
National Review: McCarthy Threatens to Hold Wray in Contempt for Refusing to Turn Over Document Alleging Biden Bribery Scheme
FBI Director Christopher Wray faces possible contempt charges after the bureau refused to turn over an unclassified record containing allegations of a criminal scheme involving former Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy threatened to hold a vote to bring charges if Wray misses a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee demanding the document. The whistleblower form allegedly outlines an exchange of money for policy decisions and was generated by the FBI.
The Blaze: DOJ drains funds raised on behalf of January 6 defendants
Some January 6 defendants have raised money through crowdsourcing sites, prompting the DOJ to request thousands of dollars in fines to offset these amounts, even for those who have already pled guilty. While sympathetic segments of society donate to these defendants on sites like GiveSendGo, even attorney William Shipley discourages his clients from presenting themselves as political prisoners if they intend to plead guilty, believing that such individuals should not be able to profit from criminal behavior. Those convicted of crimes on January 6 have been ordered to pay nearly $1 million in fines and restitution, with some of their crowdsourced funding being confiscated by the DOJ.
Spectator USA: Gavin Wax, the Babylon Bee and the open Trump-DeSantis supporter online warfare
Conservative activist Gavin Wax was fired from his job at the Babylon Bee, a Christian right-wing satire site, for a tweet about a member of the DeSantis 2024 campaign. Wax, a supporter of former president Donald Trump, was warring against DeSantis supporters who accused him of fraud. The DeSantis campaign’s rapid response director, Christina Pushaw, liked some of the tweets attacking Wax, which led to Wax sending a profanity-laden question. After his boss, Seth Dillon, took issue with this, Wax was fired and later claimed he was fired for supporting Trump over DeSantis. Raheem Kassam, editor-in-chief of the National Pulse, offered Wax a new job.
Red State: WATCH: Jamaal Bowman Reveals the Insane Place Dems Want to Take Us on Energy
The debt deal between Kevin McCarthy and Joe Biden is facing opposition from both the left and the right. The Mountain Valley Pipeline provision, desired by Senator Manchin, is causing concerns among Democrats, with Sen. Kaine seeking an amendment to remove it. However, Rep. Bowman's comment about the need to stop fossil fuel drilling completely may seem illogical, as the renewable energy industry cannot accommodate the demand, and the production of electricity relies partly on fossil fuels. Nevertheless, if paired with Joe Biden's commitment to eliminate fossil fuels, Democrats might lose support from independents.
The Epoch Times: GOP Rep. Warren Davidson Says He Will Not Run for Senate in 2024
Rep. Warren Davidson announces he will not run for Senate next year in a crucial race for the GOP to unseat two-term Sen. Sherrod Brown. Davidson states that running for Senate would take him out of the fight in the House, but takes the opportunity to criticize Brown's lack of action in the Senate and tout his own work in Congress.
Spectator USA: What more could the House GOP have gotten in the debt ceiling deal?
House Republican leadership announces a debt ceiling deal with President Biden's team, causing opposition from fiscal conservatives and progressives. The inclusion of energy policy priorities for Republicans and Senator Joe Manchin angers environmental-focused progressives. A commission focused on internal reform of defense spending is necessary for Republicans to achieve real cuts. Joe Manchin's natural gas pipeline plays a significant role in the deal. The need for Senate votes limits the House GOP's margin, making it hard for them to get more.
Newsbusters: Hypocrite Scarborough Decries 'People On Cable Shows Paid To Say Things Are Catastrophic'
Joe Scarborough praises President Biden and House Speaker McCarthy for reaching a deal on the debt limit, commending them for behaving like "grown-ups" and getting things done. However, Scarborough's comments are hypocritical as he often slurs his political opponents and is paid a significant amount of money to condemn Republicans and conservatives on his show. Scarborough's Baptist upbringing should remind him to cast the beam out of his own eye before criticizing others. The segment was sponsored by Avis and Allstate.

American Thinker: Fourth Reich disseminates ominous new report on ‘environmental policy’
The German federal government's Advisory Council on the Environment has issued a "special report" urging politicians to facilitate environmentally friendly behavior. The report suggests that political measures are necessary to encourage such behavior and it is possible to restrict the behavior of citizens if the threat is largescale enough. This has led some to fear the introduction of climate lockdowns.

Red State: J.K. Rowling for the Win: ‘REAL Fascists Have Spotted a Glorious Opportunity in Trans Activism’
J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, continues to speak out against transgender ideology despite backlash. She blasted British journalist Patrick Strudwick for publishing a false story about a “Let Women Speak” rally headed by anti-trans activist Kellie-Jay Keen in Melbourne in March. The rally was gate-crashed by neo-Nazis who performed ta Hitler salute and clashed with trans-rights activists. Rowling cited the incident as evidence of the far-right’s influence on those who question the transgender rights agenda, saying there was a “fascist takeover of transphobic ideas.”
The Blaze: Dave Chappelle's jokes are 'so hurtful and damaging to the trans community,' says woke comic Wanda Sykes
Comedian Wanda Sykes criticized Dave Chappelle's jokes about transgender people, describing them as "hurtful and damaging" and asserting that the scales of balance are tipped against the trans community. Sykes stated that she would confront Chappelle if they met. She also commented on laws prohibiting transgender individuals from using bathrooms of their own choice, calling them "stupid and hateful." Sykes said the country is regressing in terms of women's and LGBTQ rights due to "Trump supporters and all that." She discussed conversations about race with her white and French wife, who eventually recognized her racial privilege.
Red State: Watch: Sunny Hostin Steps on a Shovel In Defense of Kamala Harris Over Low Approval Ratings
Sunny Hostin, co-host on "The View," has been making racist remarks on air, such as likening white women who vote for Republicans to roaches voting for Raid roach spray. She also accused former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley of being a race traitor because she’s a Republican. Hostin claims that VP Kamala Harris is unpopular because of racism, and that white Republican women vote for the GOP because it’s what their husbands want and they want to protect the patriarchy. She claims Democratic women vote Democratic because they support the actual policies, but white Republican women are subservient to their husbands and cannot think for themselves. Rep. Burgess Owens (R-Utah) blasted Hostin and other people who favor identity politics and do not see the sum total of the person beyond race or sex.

The Epoch Times: F-16s to Ukraine an Exercise in Symbolism Over Substance
The Biden administration has agreed to allow the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine, but the infrastructure and personnel needed to support them are not yet in place. Even if they were, they would be up against Russia's extensive air defense network and large air force. The only scenario in which F-16s could make a difference would require many hundreds of planes with U.S.-level pilots and NATO-level logistics and support, which is unlikely and would be seen as a direct attack by Russia. Ultimately, the talk of providing F-16s to Ukraine is more about symbolism than substance, as the war will likely be over by the time they are ready to be deployed.
Euromaidan Press: OSCE’s report confirms large-scale deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia
The OSCE report highlights the forced deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia as a war crime in occupied territories of Ukraine. The displacement forms include adoption or custody, guardianship, or transferring kids to Russian foster families. Ukrainian children find themselves in an entirely Russian environment, including language, customs, and religion, and are exposed to pro-Russian information campaigns often amounting to targeted re-education as well as being involved in military education.
The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova for the war crime of unlawful deportation and transfer of children from occupied areas of Ukraine to Russia. Russians bring war to a city, then offer terrified parents a ‘recreation camp’ where kids will be safe, and then refuse to return the kids to the parents and hand the kids over to Russian families. The forced deportation and assimilation of Ukrainian children is “an ironclad legal case” according to the American Levin Professor of History at Yale, Timothy Snyder.

The Epoch Times: IN-DEPTH: The CCP Fears US Containment—Is This What Washington is Doing?
Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher recently won the title of "fastest man in Congress" for the sixth straight year, but stated that he did not feel victorious due to his slower time and his new job as chairman of the newly-created House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Committee has bipartisan support and aims to counter various threats posed by the CCP, including the possibility of a CCP invasion of Taiwan. The United States is engaging in an information battle against the CCP and needs to improve its efforts to expose the CCP's untrustworthiness and defend itself against the campaign of disinformation in which the CCP is engaged.

Fox News: Wall Street Journal bashes California for gas car ban, asks why Americans can't buy the cars 'they want'
The Wall Street Journal criticized California's ban on gas-powered cars and President Biden's crackdown on gas vehicles, arguing that it is a heavy-handed attempt to force Americans to adopt electric cars. The editorial board argued that Americans should be able to buy the cars and appliances they want, rather than being coerced into making purchases they cannot afford.

Fox News: Notre Dame’s roof gets rebuilt with medieval techniques
Medieval carpentry techniques, used to build Notre Dame Cathedral over 800 years ago, are being revived by a team of modern carpenters who are recreating the monument's fire-damaged roof. The use of hand axes to fashion oak beams for the new roof has given the carpenters a new appreciation for their predecessors' handiwork, and is designed as a tribute to the cathedral's original builders. The carpenters are using 21st century computer design technologies in tandem with their traditional techniques to meet the tight deadline to reopen the cathedral by December 2024.
As the deadline to reopen Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris by December 2024 edges closer, modern-day carpenters are restoring the roof of the monument using medieval-era carpentry techniques and hand tools, a deliberate nod to the past. 1,200 oak trees have been felled for the restoration, which uses the same materials and expertise as the 13th century original. The hand-tools approach deliberately avoids the use of power tools, ensuring the centuries-old skills of woodworking live on. A crane will lift the reconstructed roof to its position on top of the cathedral, unlike in medieval times when it was manually moved into place.
National Review: Star Pitcher Condemns Dodgers’ ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’ Invitation, Plans Christian Faith Day
LA Dodgers' star pitcher Clayton Kershaw criticized his team's decision to include the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group that has satirized Christian communities, in their upcoming gay pride event. Kershaw expressed his disagreement with making fun of other people's religion and instead opted to launch a "Christian Faith and Family Day" to show support for Jesus. The group was initially invited to the ballpark but was disinvited due to backlash and later re-invited after discussions. LA Pride distanced themselves from the event, but Kershaw does not plan to boycott it.

Fox News: New York marijuana regulators settle lawsuit, clearing path for dispensary licenses in Finger Lakes region
New York marijuana regulators voted to settle a lawsuit that blocked them from granting dispensary licenses in the Finger Lakes region. The settlement would remove a legal obstacle that has slowed the growth of New York's marijuana market. Meanwhile, a company owned by a Michigan resident had sued the state of New York last year, saying that New York's retail license selection process unconstitutionally favors New Yorkers over out-of-state residents.

Fox News: Horrific video shows mob of California teens allegedly beating Marines
A group of teenagers reportedly attacked three marines in San Clemente, California over Memorial Day Weekend. The altercation broke out at around 10 p.m. near the San Clemente Pier, with witnesses reporting seeing dozens of juveniles congregating at T-Street Beach. A video recorded by a bystander shows one individual punching one of the victims from behind before a larger fight broke out, with the mob seen kicking the victims lying on the ground. The Orange County Sheriff's Department has promised to identify and prosecute all suspects to the fullest extent of the law.
The incident is being investigated as an assault with a deadly weapon due to the number of suspects involved, Orange County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Frank Gonzalez said. The suspects used their feet as weapons to attack the victims. Darren Rude, a San Clemente resident, witnessed the teenagers' unruly behavior and alerted the police three times before reporting the assault on 911, which prompted police to send two cars to the beach. Critics argue that the police could have acted earlier to prevent the clash if they had taken Rude's reports more seriously. The Orange County Fire Authority was on the scene, but the victims refused medical assistance.
