The Epoch Times: Trump Vows to End Birthright Citizenship If Elected in 2024
Former President Trump is promising to eliminate birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants if he is reelected, saying that the policy is a major incentive for illegal immigration. He plans to sign an executive order to indicate that the children of illegal aliens going forward will not receive U.S. citizenship, and to end the practice of birth tourism. Trump argues that such measures will deter more migrants from coming and encourage many aliens to return to their home countries. He also criticized the Biden administration for failing to secure the U.S.-Mexico border.
While President, Trump considered ending birthright citizenship in 2018, but the idea was quickly rejected by then-House Speaker Paul Ryan. Since then, Trump and other politicians, like Senator Lindsey Graham, have expressed support and planned legislation for such an idea. However, if Trump issues an executive order, it could face significant legal challenges. The Fourteenth Amendment grants citizenship to those born in the United States, and a Supreme Court ruling from 1898 supports this idea. A 1982 Supreme Court case also indicated that children of illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship.

Fox News: MSNBC host boldly says DeSantis 'even money' to beat frontrunner Trump for 2024 nomination: 'More competent'
Joe Scarborough believes that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is an "even money" front-runner for the Republican nomination and could win against Donald Trump in the next presidential race due to his competence. Scarborough also thinks that DeSantis could be a formidable opponent for Joe Biden in the fall if he runs as a main street Republican. DeSantis was criticized by Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski for signing a law limiting abortions in the state, which could be a major hurdle for him in the general election. DeSantis has accused Trump of "running to the left" in attacking his policies, but Trump has said that DeSantis mishandled the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Blaze: Horowitz: The shocking degree of political betrayal from Kevin McCarthy
The uniparty in Washington responded to calls for spending cuts and reforms by allowing an all-you-can-eat debt buffet until 2025 after the $11 trillion COVID spending and money-printing orgy. Republicans lost their leverage and gave Biden at least $4 trillion in return for nothing. This bill enshrined the biblical and apocalyptic levels of spending into law, gave Biden more debt credit than what was on the table, and jettisoned all of the meaningful provisions of the GOP bill.
Fox News: Nancy Mace blasts GOP for getting fleeced on debt ceiling deal by a president 'who can’t find his pants'
South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace will vote "no" on the debt ceiling deal between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Biden. Mace argues that the deal "normalizes record high spending started during the pandemic" and "sets these historically high spending levels as the baseline for all future spending" while growing the government annually at around one percent. She says that the deal violates pay-as-you-go legislature and does not set a true debt limit, instead suspending it until 2025. Several Republicans, including Mace, have pushed back on the debt ceiling deal while others, including McCarthy, tout it as a win for conservatives.
Washington Free Beacon: Chris Christie Moves To Run for President
Christie's allies have formed a super PAC to support his potential presidential bid, as he prepares to join the crowded Republican primary race. The former New Jersey governor aims to contrast himself with Trump, with whom he split over the former president's claims regarding the 2020 election. Christie's candidacy is seen as a long shot in a GOP that has been remade in Trump's image.
American Thinker: 'Debt default' and 'government spending' are misdirection
Leftists Biden, Schumer, Yellen, and Brainard spread fear of default, but only focus on Treasury obligation default. They fail to discuss default on exorbitant government spending on welfare and entitlement programs.
When the Federal Reserve started quantitative easing (Q.E.) in 2008, they expanded federal spending, putting every working citizen into debt to pay for government programs like entitlements and welfare. Politicians and bureaucrats get re-elected by taxing and taking and spending citizens' money on people not working. The government must default on either its obligation to lenders or its agents must be held to account to retire the debt.

Washington Free Beacon: Debt Ceiling Emerges as Potential Trump-DeSantis Battle Ground
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump are likely to clash on the tentative debt ceiling agreement House Republicans struck with the White House. DeSantis and his allies say the deal does little to address the nation’s debt crisis, while some of Trump’s boosters have praised the deal. This could be one of the first live issues on which the two candidates will offer contrasting visions, and it demonstrates the emerging tensions between them.
The Epoch Times: Tories Risk Electoral Timebomb Unless They Win Over Millennials, Report Says
A report by think tank Onward warned that the UK's Conservative Party needs to secure the “shy capitalist” millennial vote to win the next general election. Currently, only 21% of millennials, aged 25-40, would vote Conservative, with 31% seeing the party as “dishonest” and 24% viewing it as “incompetent.” That said, there is hope, as 46% of 35-39-year-olds hold a positive view of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Within the millennial generation, a preference for gradual change is present with a leaning towards centre-left general economic values. However, when it comes to policy, millennials appear more right-wing than average. ( )

Fox News: BLM donated just around 30 percent of its nearly $87M in recent cash to other charitable foundations
BLM Global Network Foundation, the primary nonprofit for the Black Lives Matter movement, raised around $87 million between mid-2020 and mid-2022, but only disbursed just over $30 million to other charities. As per its tax forms, it recently gave out $4.5 million in grants to groups including Love Not Blood Campaign, Center for Black Power, Anti-Police Terror Project, and the Trans Justice Housing Project. The foundation did not report any contributions to its chapters across the US in the latest financial reports. The nonprofit's donation amounts decreased reaching $9.3 million in the fiscal year ending in June 2022.
The nonprofit faced controversy over its financial judgments when it funneled almost $4 million in consulting payments to Shalomyah Bowers, its leader and individuals linked to Patrisse Cullors, its co-founder. Cullors was previously criticized over her past real estate purchases and left her leadership position with BLM in May 2021. The nonprofit's financial transparency has been scrutinized due to the low amount of contributions it disbursed to other charitable entities, despite raising around $90 million in two years.
Forbes: Davenport Collapse: Demolition On Hold As Concerns Mount That More Survivors May Be In Building
Officials in Davenport, Iowa are delaying the demolition of an apartment building that partially collapsed on Sunday night, as a ninth person was rescued and some other residents remain unaccounted for. The city announced demolition plans on Monday but later reversed course after the rescue, and protests began when some feared more people may be trapped inside. Some have questioned if the building was welcoming to residents and expressed concern about the unaccounted individuals who lived in the property.
The Epoch Times: Lone Tenant in a $400-a-Month Apartment Could Hold up Major Montreal Condo Project
Carla White is the only remaining tenant in her Montreal building, which is set to be demolished to make way for a condo project. In order to move forward, the developer must reach an agreement with White, who insists she won’t leave until she’s provided with a home that offers the long-term stability to prevent her from ending up on the streets. The city has emphasised that tenant rights are enshrined in its regulations, but if the developers and tenants can’t reach an agreement, the case may end up in Quebec’s administrative housing tribunal or, according to White’s lawyer, the Quebec Superior Court.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul is demanding that all committee members have access to the July 2021 Dissent Channel cable on the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. So far, only McCaul and Rep. Gregory Meeks have seen the cable, which the State Department provided on May 23. In a letter to the State Department, McCaul called on them to "provide access to the documents to all Committee members and to the American people." McCaul claimed the document offered significant insight into the decision-making process behind the withdrawal and was necessary to allow the committee to conduct proper oversight.

Fox News: South American leaders gather in Brazil's capital to discuss energy, crime-fighting, economy
South American leaders, including Venezuela's President Maduro, gathered in Brazil's capital for a summit focused on regional cooperation in energy, crime-fighting, and the economy. The meeting marks the first gathering of the regional bloc in nine years and comes amid a shift towards leftist and centrist leadership in the continent. Brazilian President Lula suggested the possibility of a regional currency, but nothing will be decided during the summit.
Investigators have determined that a deadly dormitory fire in Guyana was deliberately set by a student. The regional bloc previously known as Union of South American Nations, or Unasur, had fallen apart due to disagreements over leadership, causing several countries to withdraw. However, current South American presidents are attending this summit, with Lula sensing an opportunity for integration due to the political affinities of the region's current governments. The challenge will be creating a bloc that can survive the region's political shifts and instability.
Front Page Magazine: More Israelis Have Been Killed in 5 Months of Biden Than 2 Years of Trump
Terrorists funded by the US continue to attack Israel. Meir Tamari, a 32-year-old Israeli man, was killed in a shooting. He marks the 20th victim so far this year, surpassing the combined number of Israeli deaths in the previous two years under Trump. The Biden administration’s decision to restore aid and diplomatic relations with the Palestinian Authority has fueled the increase. Terrorists are paid based on the length of their prison sentence, earning up to $3,000 a month. The Palestinian Authority rewards terrorists who murder Jews, an action supported by the Biden administration.
The Epoch Times: US Should Deploy Space Dominance Measures to Counter China Threat: Analyst
China is developing cyber-attack capabilities to interfere with Western satellite systems, and could effectively seize control of U.S. military satellites, according to a leaked Pentagon document. The Chinese Communist Party is seeking to control information, which it considers a key warfighting domain, posing a threat to the U.S.' ability to use satellites for securing communications, information-gathering, and weapon systems. The U.S. is more vulnerable because its military satellites are larger, more complex, and have antiquated operating systems on board, making them easier to hack. Brandon Weichert, geopolitical analyst and author of "Winning Space: How America Remains a Superpower," advocated the U.S. adopt a space dominance approach to counter the Chinese challenge, that does more than just defend existing satellite networks. He suggested building out the capabilities to remain the dominant power in space, including a space-based missile defense to protect the homeland from space attacks.
The Epoch Times: Papua New Guinea Delays Signing Australia Security Deal Over ‘Certain Wordings’
Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape has delayed signing a proposed security treaty with Australia as “certain wordings and provisions” require consultation with domestic processes. The proposed treaty will enhance security cooperation and contribute to bilateral and regional security, trust, and stability. However, Marape conveyed his apologies to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for the delay in formalizing the treaty. Meanwhile, internal scrutiny mounted over PNG’s defense cooperation agreement with the United States, which was signed during Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to PNG on May 22. University students submitted a petition to the PNG government expressing concerns over the U.S.–PNG defense pact. Students also resorted to civil unrest, including burning cars and property, in protest of the accord.

The Epoch Times: Experts Warn Investors as Chinese State-Owned Enterprises Flatter to Deceive
Chinese SOE stocks have seen a surge due to the communist regime's new system of valuations with "Chinese characteristics," which has temporarily boosted the confidence of Chinese investors according to experts although the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) Composite Index dropped below the psychologically important 3,200-point level this week. The Chinese authorities were hoping that the new valuation system for SOE shares would resolve the finance-shortage issue of the country. However, the artificial high valuation may attract inexperienced investors, warns Economist Li Hengqing, but the regime has failed to recognize that the SOEs' low operating efficiency will continue to limit their market value.
Fox News: Former German tax inspector sentenced to over 8 years in prison for one of biggest frauds in country's history
Hanno Berger, a former tax inspector, was sentenced to eight years and three months in jail for his involvement in the cum-ex tax scheme, which cost German taxpayers an estimated $11.01 billion. Berger had fled to Switzerland in 2012 before being extradited to Germany in February. Germany and Denmark are leading cross-border investigations into the trading scheme, which involved banks and investors claiming multiple bogus tax rebates on dividends, aided by now-closed loopholes in their tax systems and the failure of authorities to spot and halt the practice.
The cum-ex scandal has sparked a public and political outcry as ordinary Germans face a cost-of-living crisis. Nearly a decade of investigations have led government officials to go after around 1,500 suspects and 100 banks on four continents. Authorities have raided the German branches of companies including Barclays, Bank of America, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley in their investigations. In September, Bank of New York Mellon Corp, Germany's Warburg Group and Deutsche Bank said they would pay a combined 60 million euros to tax authorities over the scandal. All four banks have said they are cooperating with inquiries.

PJ Media: Kirk Cameron’s Book Reading at Seattle Public Library a Huge Success
Actor Kirk Cameron's nationwide book tour, which includes a children's book, Pride Comes Before the Fall, was hosted at the Seattle Public Library as an alternative to Drag Queen Story Hours. Despite initial opposition from library leadership who claimed their communities would not be interested in Cameron's pro-American and biblical values, thousands of people from diverse backgrounds have attended his events in Indianapolis, New York, Savannah, Ga., Los Angeles, Nashville, Tenn., and Charlotte, N.C. Cameron told PJ Media that library tours had been successful because the leadership that has hijacked public schools, libraries and the media does not represent the values of the people.
Brave Books founder Trent Talbot spoke about parents across America being "wide awake to the fact that there is a real war going on for the hearts, minds, and souls of their children" and seeking out a trustworthy brand with entertaining world-building. Talbot praised Cameron for being a reassuring spokesperson who has attracted audiences in liberal strongholds. Efforts to cancel the Seattle Public Library event or disrupt it proved unsuccessful with protests proving minimal.

Daily Wire: ‘Very Offensive’: ‘The Little Mermaid’ Makeup Artist Responds To Backlash From Drag Performers Over Ursula’s Look
Makeup artist Peter Smith King responds to criticism that he is not "queer" and therefore shouldn't have recreated the infamous villain Ursula's look in the new live-action version of "The Little Mermaid". King, who has 42 years of experience in the industry, worked with actress Melissa McCarthy to create Ursula's look and claims he used original ideas for the makeup. The 1989 animated version was inspired by the late drag performer Divine and some drag enthusiasts were not impressed with King's take. King was "offended" by the backlash and claims that he can do as good a job as a queer makeup artist.
Red State: Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ Had a Strong Opening, but There Are Signs It Is Treading Water
Disney's live-action reboot of "The Little Mermaid" garnered strong interest due to the decision to cast POC performer Halle Bailey in the lead role, but the film's success is not as great as press reports suggest. The film grossed $118 million over the Memorial Day weekend, making it the fifth-best debut for the holiday weekend, but it fell short of projections and shows signs of weakness, with decreased interest throughout the weekend and a significant decline in box office gross after the strong opening night. "Mermaid" had a higher budget than similar films like "Aladdin," and the film is not performing well in China. It remains to be seen whether the film will ultimately achieve success.

Washington Free Beacon: US Slaps Sanctions on Chinese and Mexican Targets Over Fentanyl Production
The US has imposed sanctions on Chinese and Mexican entities and individuals accused of aiding the production of fentanyl-laced, counterfeit drugs. Fentanyl is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and has increasingly been mixed with other illicit drugs often with lethal results. Chinese cooperation with the US on stemming the flow of fentanyl "precursor" chemicals has been limited due to strained relations between the countries.

Fox News: Olympic gold medalist takes issue with transgender athletes' participation in girls and women's sports
Former British decathlete Daley Thompson criticized transgender participation in girls’ and women’s sports, stating that it is unfair to biological women. British Cycling has prohibited transgender female athletes from competing against biological females, but will allow transgender men who have yet to begin hormone therapy to compete in the female category. The men’s category will be consolidated into an “open” category, allowing transgender women, transgender men, non-binary individuals, and those born male and female to compete. Thompson believes that this decision will disadvantage women and discourage female participation in sports.
