Breitbart: Clyburn: I Felt I Had to Help Pass Debt Bill After OMB Director Endorsed It
Rep. Clyburn supports the debt limit agreement and feels it's important to pass it to protect the full faith and credit of the United States. He recognizes the need for compromise in governance and believes the deal is a good one, with expanded assistance for veterans and homeless people, and protections for Medicaid and President Biden's work.
The Epoch Times: Hong Kong Court Rejects Publisher Jimmy Lai's Bid to Terminate His National Security Trial
A Hong Kong court rejected jailed publisher Jimmy Lai's request to terminate his national security trial. Lai faces up to life in prison if convicted under a Beijing-imposed national security law. He is accused of conspiring with others to call for sanctions or blockades, engaging in hostile activities against Hong Kong or China, and collusion with foreign forces to endanger national security. Judges Esther Toh, Susana D’Almada Remedios and Alex Lee unanimously rejected Lai’s request for a jury, as the national security law allows no-jury trials for national security cases. Lai's trial was postponed until September as the city awaited Beijing’s decision over a row on his decision to hire a British lawyer. He was also sentenced to five years and nine months in a separate fraud case in December.

Breitbart: Army Vet Cleans Trash Around Virginia Town 'This Country Is Worth it'
Richard Baker, a retired staff sergeant from the army, has been picking up litter in the colonial town of Front Royal, Virginia for three years. He uses a reach grabber tool and collects trash every day, no matter the weather, for the town of 15,000. Baker is an American and proud of it. He says that he does it because it's something he needs and enjoys, and it's good for his arthritis to keep his joints moving. At 71 years old, he would take a bullet for his country just like his Uncle Richard who died during the Battle of Savo Island in 1942.
Baker fears that America's youth are being indoctrinated by leftists and won't fight for the country. His father and uncle both fought in wars for the country, and his family history is a source of pride for him. Baker says that when people say that this country isn't worth fighting for, it hurts him because his family died so that they didn't have to learn to speak Japanese. He does what he does because he loves the country and wants it to stay great.
Townhall: Tucker Carlson, The Truth, and The Spiritual Battle
Tucker Carlson's speech at the Heritage Foundation's 50th anniversary gala may have led to his top-rated show's cancellation by Fox News. The speech included a call for Americans to pray for the country, which Rupert Murdoch reportedly found too extreme. Carlson argued that debates on political policies can no longer be won through rational arguments, but rather by a commitment to truth under God. He urged Americans to resist the falsehoods in our culture and pray for the courage to tell the truth.
