Newsbusters: Jennings Schools CNN 'Historian' Rewriting History of Debt Limit Talks
CNN historian Douglas Brinkley claimed that President Biden did a masterful job negotiating a bipartisan deal to raise the debt ceiling, but Republican political strategist Scott Jennings set the record straight, pointing out that Biden refused to negotiate for six months and was only brought to the table by Speaker McCarthy. Jennings listed items in the debt ceiling bill that Republicans wanted and pointed out that they wouldn't have happened if Biden had his way. Brinkley's rewriting of history was made possible by Golden Corral.
Breitbart: House Republicans Give McCarthy Standing Ovation in Debt Limit Meeting
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy received a standing ovation during a House Republican Conference meeting on the debt ceiling deal and emphasized that it would give Republicans leverage during the fall spending bill fight. The House will vote on the legislation Wednesday. The bill reduces the IRS budget and President Biden also agreed to reduce funding in fiscal years 2024 and 2025. Rep. Garret Graves received a standing ovation when he relayed that the White House complained about not receiving priority spending or legislation in the bill. He called on House Republicans to continue backing the legislation.
Townhall: 108 Former World Leaders Support Regime Change in Iran
108 former world leaders, including former US Vice President Mike Pence and 50 former Presidents, have signed an open letter of solidarity with the people of Iran, supporting their demand for freedom and democracy and condemning the current regime's brutal crackdown on protests. The letter calls on the international community, including President Joe Biden and leaders of EU member states, to take decisive action against the Iranian regime, including blacklisting the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and holding officials accountable for their "crimes against humanity." The letter also endorses the Democratic opposition coalition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and its Ten-Point Plan for a secular and democratic republic.
Townhall: Our Fake Spending Debates
President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy reached a deal to raise the debt limit, which includes a 1% cap on non-military spending increases, a cutback on IRS funding, clawback of unspent COVID-19 allocations, and work requirements for federal aid. The compromise bill is far less than House Republicans had demanded as government spending grew 40% or by $2 trillion from 2019 to 2023.
Compared to conservative ideals, the compromise bill is a "flaming bag of fiscal manure," but Republicans could not get a big win on budgetary matters. The reality is that our budgetary debates are generally about shifting deck chairs on the fiscal Titanic. By 2053, we will be dedicating in excess of 21% of our national budget to debt service alone. Mandatory spending will constitute 58% of our spending. Our politicians are in the business of ignoring the iceberg as we bear down, full speed, on our fiscal doom.

The Blaze: Alabama governor signs bill blocking men from playing on women's college sports teams and vice versa
Alabama has banned public colleges from allowing biological males to participate in sports designated for females and vice versa. Governor Kay Ivey signed the legislation, citing fairness as the primary concern. The move comes amid ongoing debate around the US and globally regarding transgender athletes. While some view the measure as commonsense, others argue that it targets the LGBTQ+ community and is part of an "attack" on their rights.

The Epoch Times: Assistant Secretary of State Calls FISA Abuses ‘Disturbing’ but Says Program Should Continue
Assistant Secretary of State Brett Holmgren emphasized the national security benefits of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), downplaying the litany of violations and abuses associated with the program. The provision, which allows for intelligence gathering of foreign agents operating outside the U.S., is set to expire on Dec. 31 if Congress doesn’t reauthorize it. While Rep. Darin LaHood is leading a bipartisan working group that hopes to make legislative reforms to Section 702 to prevent future abuses, it is unclear if this will mean a significantly neutered program.
Holmgren confessed that he found the revelations of FBI spying on Americans using Section 702 “disturbing and unfortunate,” but he emphasized that the program is essential to countering national security threats from foreign threats, terrorists, cyber attacks, espionage, and weapons of mass destruction. Holmgren also emphasized procedural safeguards and the oversight process to protect the Fourth Amendment rights of Americans, but the fact remains that the program has been repeatedly abused by the FBI, including illegal queries of U.S. citizens and the alleged use of the program for purely domestic concerns such as hunting down those who participated in the Capitol breach.

Breitbart: CBO Estimates Debt Ceiling Deal Will Cut Debt By $1.5 Trillion
Biden and McCarthy's debt-ceiling deal aims to reduce US government debt by $1.5 trillion over 10 years through caps on discretionary and mandatory spending. Cuts to IRS funding would decrease spending by $1.4 trillion, but increase the deficit by $900 billion. Work requirements for food stamps would cost an additional $2.1 billion, and reclaiming unused pandemic aid funds would only reduce outlays by $11.0 billion over the decade.
PJ Media: Our Fake Spending Debates
President Biden and Speaker McCarthy reached a deal to raise the debt limit, which includes a cap on non-military spending, a cut to IRS funding, and work requirements for federal aid. The compromise is significantly less than what House Republicans had demanded. However, the real drivers of budgetary bloat and economic stagnation, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, remain untouched and mandatory spending will account for 58% of spending. The budget debates are only shifting deck chairs on the fiscal Titanic, with politicians ignoring the looming fiscal doom.
The Epoch Times: Boeing Boosts 787 Dreamliner Production Rate to 4 a Month
Boeing has increased production of its widebody 787 Dreamliner from three to four planes per month, with plans to ramp up to five by year's end. The US planemaker is also adding a second production line to its South Carolina facilities as it completes inventory work. The plant in Washington, where Dreamliners are being modified to meet FAA standards, will continue doing such work. In April, Boeing announced it had stabilised production at three jets per month following a period producing Dreamliners at a lower rate.

Townhall: Stop Scaring Our Kids to Death
Schools are not teaching children how to read or do math, but are succeeding in climate change indoctrination programs. Children are being terrorized with misinformation and are experiencing a rise in teen depression, suicide, lower productivity, and drug addiction due to eco-anxiety. The birth rate is plummeting as children inherit a higher living standard, cleaner planet, and better goods and services than anyone in history. The Left is turning children into neurotic Green New Dealers who fear a fiery hell.

Fox News: GREG GUTFELD: Liberals in the media are furious because of an irrefutable scientific fact
ESPN's Samantha Ponder expressed support for fairness in sports for girls against biological men, and was met with backlash from USA Today's ghastly sports columnist Nancy Armour, who accused Ponder of bigotry against transgender people. Armour's unprovable accusations and name-calling were an attempt to bully Ponder into silence, but her basic human biology argument still stands.

The Epoch Times: Alabama Expands Trans Athlete Ban to College Level
Alabama has banned biological males from playing on female college athletic teams, and vice versa. The legislation, applicable to public colleges, is aimed at ensuring equal opportunities and fair competition for female athletes. People who have commenced hormone therapy are not exempt from the ban. The physical differences between biological males and females were cited as the reason for the ban. Similar bans on transgender athletes in K-12 settings are in place in 21 other states. The bill protects schools from adverse action for complying with the law and provides a private cause of action for students harmed or deprived of athletic opportunities due to violations. The law does not restrict eligibility to participate in coed or mixed-designated athletic teams. Some see the ban as discriminatory and part of broader LGBT politics.
