Ukrainian President Zelensky warned of consequences if there were a loss in Bakhmut, implying pressure to reach a compromise with Putin. The West may be pressuring Ukraine to make a successful offensive in order to bolster support among democratic peoples, whilst success is equally crucial for Zelensky domestically.
