Daily Wire: Corporate Earnings And The High Cost Of Going Woke
Can woke corporations face class-action lawsuits from shareholders for destroying value? Dick's Sporting Goods lost $250 million when it stopped selling semi-automatic weapons after the Parkland School shooting, while Bud Light's parent company lost $15.7 billion after a campaign with a transgender influencer. The NBA and NFL also saw declines in viewership when they went “super-woke” during the BLM riots. John and Jane Public do not want politics in their sports or to see "tuck-friendly" bathing suits at Target. When does a corporation open itself to investigations for market manipulation, and can making decisions that do not allow them to live up to their fiduciary responsibility to shareholders lead to an investigation?
Townhall: Child Sexual Predator-Enablers of The Lincoln Project Target DeSantis
The Lincoln Project could have made a difference if they weren't money-grubbing scumbags. Politics is filled with a different breed of prostitute, one for whom money is the addiction. They betrayed their principles for left-wing money. Now they're attacking Ron DeSantis because that's a bank they haven't robbed yet.
Daily Wire: Nancy Mace Is A ‘No’ On Debt Ceiling Deal: ‘Outsmarted By A President Who Can’t Find His Pants’
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) will vote against the debt ceiling deal saying Republicans were hoodwinked and the agreement would normalize high spending. The deal suspends the debt limit until 2025, caps spending growth for the next two years and expands work requirements for food stamps for those between 49 and 54-years-old. Mace said she would vote "no" on the bill because “playing the DC game isn’t worth selling out our kids and grandkids” and Republicans were “outsmarted by a President who can’t find his pants”. Republicans were celebrating the landmark victory, however, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) spoke out against Biden compromising with Republicans, contending that the move would cause a backlash among the broader public.
The Federalist Papers: Photos Show It All - Bud Light Was Murdered on Memorial Day
Sales of Bud Light beer plummeted after the company used transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney in an advertising campaign. Social media users revealed that crates of the beer were untouched in supermarkets, and the Anheuser-Busch brand was left unsold across America. The campaign is said to have caused outrage among conservative beer drinkers who boycott the brand, leading to Bud Light being sold for free in some stores.
Breitbart: Texas Governor Calls Special Session for Border Security, Property Tax Measures
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called the Texas Legislature back for several special sessions following the regular session which adjourned on 31 May. The first session began on Monday evening and is focused on passing bills related to border security as well as property tax relief. A number of other key bills are expected to also be passed, including ones to provide funding for border security and to designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organisations. The Texas Senate is also due to convene for a special session to hear the impeachment trial of Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Euromaidan Press: Drone attacks on Moscow may be part of Ukraine’s counteroffensive – FT
Ukrainian companies emerged after 2014 specializing in unmanned aerial vehicles, ground transportation and robots to repel Russian aggression. The Financial Times reports Ukraine is using drone attacks on Russia to deceive their military to create favorable conditions for an upcoming counteroffensive. Shaping operations are part of standard military practice to shape the battlefield before a major offensive, and Ukraine will continue shaping operations, including precision attacks to undermine assets and capabilities. Microsoft claims Fancy Bear hackers use special tactics to evade detection while planting backdoors on corporate networks and agency departments.
Forbes: Ukraine Has A Growing Arsenal Of Drones Able To Hit Moscow
At least eight kamikaze drones attacked Moscow, with Ukrainian involvement suspected. The drones' exact origin is unknown, with possible suspect drones being the UKRJET UJ-22, the Alibaba drone based on the Mugin-5, or the Beaver drone designed by Ukrainians Ihor Lachen and Volodymyr Yatsenko. The recent launch of the AQ-400 Scythe drone designed by One Way Aerospace has added to concerns about Ukraine's ability to deliver drone-based attacks. The outcome of the incident may increase anxiety about escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine .
The Epoch Times: Kyiv Denies Involvement as Moscow Undergoes Second Drone Attack
Drones crashed into three residential buildings in Moscow without causing any fatalities, but several buildings sustained minor damage. The Russian Defense Ministry blamed Kyiv for the terrorist attack, which it claimed involved eight fixed-wing combat drones. This is the second drone attack to target the Russian capital in less than a month, with both incidents attributed to Ukraine. Russia has seen a mounting number of attacks inside its territory since it invaded Ukraine early last year. Ukrainian officials deny involvement in the attacks and have warned that Western arms sales are not intended for use in striking targets inside Russian territory.

Senator Lindsey Graham challenges Russia to make their case before the International Criminal Court after Russia issued a warrant for his arrest due to accusations of war crimes in Ukraine and calling for U.S. military aid to Ukraine. Graham considers the warrant a "badge of honor" and says he will submit to ICC jurisdiction if Russia does the same. Both Moscow and Kyiv have recently suffered drone attacks, with Russia launching missiles, drones, and bombs against the Ukrainian capital for months and Ukraine launching its first attack on Moscow.

Breitbart: Biden to Turkey: Help Us Expand NATO if You Want to Buy F-16s
President Biden has suggested that Turkey assist the US in expanding NATO if it wants to buy American fighter jets. Biden discussed with President Erdoğan, speaking of Turkish support to NATO expansion as vital to their capability to buy US F-16 fighter jets. Turkey has shown interest in buying F-16s worth $20bn and many upgrade kits for their current fighter jet fleet, but American lawmakers have blocked the weapon sales to Turkey due to Erdoğan's refusal to let Sweden join NATO.

Amidst the threat of default, House Speaker and Joe Biden agreed to extend the debt limit until the end of 2024 with a cap on annual discretionary spending for two years. The agreement includes spending cuts demanded by Republicans, but some GOP members are already publicly criticizing it, which may cause the deal not to get the support it needs to pass.
The Epoch Times: Debt-Ceiling Bill Faces Challenge of Getting Enough Bipartisan Support
President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced a deal to raise America’s debt ceiling but will need enough bipartisan support to get it passed. While some Republicans criticized the bill for lacking spending cuts, several Democrats disapprove of measures such as new work requirements for older Americans in the food aid program. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned that the United States could default on its debt by June 5 if lawmakers fail to raise the debt ceiling on time. The House Rules Committee is expected to vote on the bill on Tuesday, with the House voting on Wednesday and then sending it to the Senate. The bill needs strong support from Democrats in the Senate to pass and could extend into the weekend.
The Epoch Times: UK Food Inflation Eases in May But Remains High, Says Retailers Group
UK food inflation has fallen for the first time in almost two years, according to a report by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Nielsen. The rate dropped from 15.7% to 15.4% in the year to May, although the three-month fresh food rate, which fell from 17.8% to 17.2%, was still the second highest on record. The BRC reported that lower energy and commodity costs may have driven the fall, although reductions in ambient food inflation may take longer. Non-food inflation rose to 5.8% from 5.5%.

American Thinker: Two sobering observations after Memorial Day
On Memorial Day, we remember the sacrifices of our military personnel who died to preserve our freedoms. However, many young people don't know about key battles, showing the failure of our public education. Meanwhile, there are people who believe the USA is evil, racist, and corrupt, and they want to "fundamentally transform" America. The National Education Association is one such group, trying to push for a one-world government and eliminating nationalism. The intention of this godless system is to destroy our rights and create one-world citizens. With such ideas taking hold in school systems, we risk losing what our military personnel died to preserve.
The Right Scoop: Memorial Day: Remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom
American Duckie reflects on Memorial Day and the importance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed for their country. She points out that many Americans take for granted the freedoms they have and the sacrifices made to protect them. American troops have fought in countries they never expected to be in to keep the fight away from the homeland. Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember those who have died during war and to be grateful for the freedoms we have.
The roots of Memorial Day go back to Decoration Day, which was created after the Civil War to honor the war dead. The day was officially proclaimed in 1868 by General John Logan as a time to honor those who died in defense of their country. It was later renamed Memorial Day and is now observed on the last Monday in May. This Memorial Day, American Duckie encourages people to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have fought for the country's freedoms and to honor their memories.

Fox News: Vatican chastises bishops, pastors for divisive social media posts: 'Digital tribalism'
The Vatican has released guidance for Catholic engagement on social media, admonishing "digital tribalism" and urging Church leaders to be more reflective in their posts. The document, titled "Towards Full Presence. A Pastoral Reflection on Engagement with Social Media," warned against polemical and superficial content, urging individuals to avoid digital traps designed to play on emotions. While directed toward all Church leaders, Reuters speculated that the Vatican was responding to attacks on Pope Francis from far-right commentators and conservative Catholic bishops.
The Catholic Church and Pope Francis have come under scrutiny in American politics, particularly as major leaders like President Joe Biden and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi identify as Catholics but hold views contrary to traditional Church teaching. Biden has invoked U.S. Catholic bishops and Pope Francis in defense of federally-funded abortions, despite the Church's consistent opposition to the practice. Meanwhile, the Vatican's new guidance urges Christian reflection on social media and warns against divisive behavior that is not "a Christian community should."

The Epoch Times: Retracted COVID-19 Papers Cited 7 Times per Paper
A report has found that haste and a push for information to be disseminated early has led to a spike in retractions of COVID-19 research papers. Over 270,000 papers have been published since the start of the pandemic, with 212 papers being retracted, leading to a median citation of seven times per paper. The report also revealed that 18% of the citations from the retracted papers were critical and may have impacted patient care. The papers were cited by researchers and reported on by the media, influencing policymaking, including social distancing measures, travel restrictions, and infection control measures.
High-profile medical journals were vulnerable to the haste that was seen in COVID-19 research, leading to hundreds of papers being removed due to ethical standards issues. In the case of monoclonal antibodies, evidence of research changing the direction of decision-making can be found after several scientists claimed certain brands of the treatment would not work for the Omicron variant. The result was policymakers moving to drugs like remdesivir instead. Similarly, the study put forth the conclusion that drugs such as hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine increased the risk of death from COVID-19, influencing suspensions of clinical trials testing the drugs. Preprints allowed authors to publish early versions of research papers before peer review or journal publications, leading to unreliable research.

Her parents are also pushing for CPR lessons to be mandatory in schools and for social media platforms to ban such content from being made available to children. “Chroming” and inhalant misuse are common in Australia amongst young people and can cause severe health issues or death, according to health officials.

Townhall: Chicago's 'Peacekeeper' Plan to Address Crime Went As Well As You Expected
Chicago's anti-crime "peacekeeper" initiative, which aims to involve community members in preventing crime, has faced a setback after one peacekeeper was charged in connection with a violent robbery. Governor JB Pritzker had previously praised the initiative, which relies on outreach workers to de-escalate conflict in troubled neighborhoods. The accused peacekeeper, 31-year-old Oscar Montes, who had recently been released from a 10-year prison term, was allegedly part of a group that pulled a driver from his car and robbed him. Over the Memorial Day weekend, 53 people were shot in Chicago, with 10 fatalities. Two two-year-old children were also caught in separate incidents.

Footage shows the masked robbers making off with large numbers of items as Ferguson repeatedly tells them to leave the store. Both women defended their actions, saying they felt unprotected and that calling the emergency services was their only option. The company has denied that the pair were fired for calling the police, citing a "zero tolerance policy related to physically engaging with the perpetrators."

Newsbusters: USA Today Columnist Attacks Sam Ponder For Her Stance On Fairness In Women's Sports
USA Today columnist Nancy Armour criticized ESPN's Sam Ponder for supporting Riley Gaines, a former college swimmer who spoke out against the inclusion of biological men in women's sports. Armour called Ponder's stance "hateful" and accused her of not caring about other issues in women's sports. However, Ponder's opinion on transgender athletes in women's sports is not connected to other women's sports issues. The inherent physical advantages that men have over women make it unfair for transgender females to compete in women's sports.
