Fox News: Public cost of Atlanta's 'Cop City' more than doubled in new estimate
Atlanta's proposed police and fire training center will cost taxpayers more than double the $31 million previously estimated. A provision in the city's lease with the Atlanta Police Foundation will add about $36 million to the public cost of the $90 million complex, requiring the city to pay $1.2 million a year for use of the facility over 30 years. The facility will be located on the site of Atlanta’s old prison farm in unincorporated DeKalb County, a flashpoint of ongoing conflict between authorities and left-leaning protesters.
