American Thinker: Trump Critics Need to Stop Complaining about 'Baggage'
President Trump's so-called baggage, including his confrontational style and social media posts, made him a target for criticism by some conservative critics who believe he is impossible to defend. However, military historian Victor David Hanson highlights that Trump did not violate federal law as Hillary Clinton did, nor did he engage in corrupt activities like Biden and Kerry. Trump's success in the 2016 presidential election without establishment endorsement, and his potential for re-election in 2024, poses a threat to the status quo in D.C., making him a target for investigation and impeachment.
Trump's achievements, such as securing the border, withdrawing from unfair deals, and improving employment, go against the establishment's goals of enriching cronies and creating a government-dependent voter base. The current administration's reversal of Trump's policies shows the establishment's commitment to maintaining the swamp and opposing any challengers like DeSantis. Citizens who want to restore order in the U.S. must understand that Trump is not targeted because of his baggage but because he poses a threat to the status quo in D.C.

Fox News: North Korea tells neighboring Japan of plans to launch satellite, safety warning issued
North Korea has notified Japan that it plans to launch a satellite despite United Nations prohibitions. The launch is planned for between May 31 and June 11, and could affect the Yellow Sea, East China Sea and east of the Philippines' Luzon Island. The satellite launch would be a violation of U.N. resolutions and Japan has issued a safety warning for shipping in the area due to the risk of falling debris.
If North Korea launched a satellite into space, it would violate Security Council resolutions as they would have to use long-range missile technology, which is banned. If the satellite entered Japan's territory, they have instructed their Self-Defense Force to shoot it down. North Korea has been previously criticized for launching disguised missile tests under the guise of Earth observation satellites. Spy satellites are among several high-tech weapons systems Kim Jong-un has committed to developing.

American Thinker: Bud Light rebate is paying customers a profit to take their beer out of stores
Beer distributors are struggling to sell unsold inventory of Bud Light with warehouses overflowing. To clear inventory, the company is offering a $15 rebate on a case of 24 cans for $13.99 in the Chicago area. With the Illinois sales tax of 6.25%, customers can make a profit of 13 cents per case. However, it remains to be seen if sales will improve for the Memorial Day selling season.
American Thinker: Utilities may not be able to provide electricity to the all-electric homes
California mandates all new homes be all-electric and all new home appliances will be electric starting 2030. Washington expected to follow. Families will depend solely on electric utilities. A natural disaster can leave families cold, hungry and in the dark. The cost increase, modifying a mixed-energy home to all-electric is $15,000. Upgrading electrical grid will be needed for all-electric homes and manufactured homes. Families with all-electric homes without electricity and others unable to afford the upgrade will be left without affordable homes.

Washington Free Beacon: The Price of Victory
"To The End of the Earth" is a gripping portrayal of American troops fighting in the ghastly conditions of the Pacific theater during World War II. John C. McManus turns his attention to Luzon and Okinawa, detailing the brutality of the battles and the incredible courage shown by the American Army. Despite the brutality of the fighting, the capture of Clark Field and Manila is the result of the plodding approach of Lt. General Walter Krueger and innovations like Lt. General Robert L. Eichelberger’s rapid advance with the 11th Airborne Division. McManus concludes his trilogy with a nuanced and interesting portrayal of the Japanese commanders, highlighting the need for the use of the atomic bomb.

American Thinker: Erdoğan's daughter boasts: Islam will 'break the Western cross'
Erdoğan's daughter, Esra, resorted to jihadist rhetoric in a recent tweet attacking the West and Christianity. She declared that "There is little left for the Islamic crescent to break the Western cross." Muslims have literally "broken the cross" by destroying crucifixes on churches and in cemeteries, reflecting their animosity towards Christianity. They have also striven to defeat Christianity, including the daughter of Turkey's president. Westerners have been accommodating towards Muslim migrants, many of whom display Islam's contempt and prey on "infidels."

American Thinker: The Futility of School Reform
American schools face historic declines in reading, math, and civic literacy test scores post-COVID, prompting calls for reform. Educating for American Democracy (EAD) project, with government support, takes a left-wing, alarmist approach, while the Hillsdale College 1776 Curriculum stresses traditional American values. However, without discipline in classrooms, even the best-funded schemes will fail, making civilizing youngsters critical for learning, regardless of ideology. Racial ideologues reject this message, branding it "White supremacy," and advocating policies exacerbating existing disorder. A divide exists in defining education, with excellence part of the culture war, and not a universally shared quest for academic excellence.

Forbes: Why Leeds United Has The Most To Fear Of Those Relegated
Leeds United were relegated with a 1-4 defeat to Tottenham, which continued Sam Allardyce's poor managerial performances. Allardyce suggested the club needed careful thought on future strategy which included dealing with the ownership situation consistently to have any hope to succeed. The situation at the club is much worse than the other two clubs who were relegated the same year as Leeds, Southampton and Leicester City. Leeds will need a manager and director of football operating on the same wavelength for the club to bounce back.
Leeds United has been in decline following Marcelo Bielsa's departure in 2022, with his replacement, Jesse Marsch, failing to offer free-flowing football or shore up the team's leaky defense. The club's combative director of football Victor Orta replaced Marsch with Javi Gracia, but that decision was equally ill-advised. It is clear Leeds United now needs long-term plans and some fresh thinking if they are going to bounce back, as Marsch was the appointment of a strategic plan to create a distinctive identity, whilst Allardyce and Gracia came in as stop-gaps. Leeds needs to find directors who are in sync and operate on the same wavelength if they are going to put an end to the club’s woes.
