Fox News: Republicans secure massive gas pipeline approval in debt ceiling deal
Republicans secure massive gas pipeline approval in debt ceiling deal
A debt ceiling package agreed upon by House Republicans and President Biden includes a provision fast-tracking the nearly completed Mountain Valley Pipeline, a 303-mile natural gas link stretching from West Virginia to Virginia. The move was lauded by West Virginia lawmakers and is predicted to bring $40 million in new tax revenue to West Virginia, $10 million to Virginia and create 2,500 construction jobs. Environmental groups and Democrats, however, are expected to oppose the deal.

Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia have lauded the unexpected inclusion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline in a debt ceiling package. The project’s estimated economic benefits for the state include new tax revenue and employment opportunities. The package still needs to pass in the House and Senate and may face opposition from environmental groups and Democrats who have previously spoken out against the pipeline.

Front Page Magazine: Yes, Democrats, Stay Out of Florida
Yes, Democrats, Stay Out of Florida
Left-wing groups like the NAACP and LGBT organizations should stay out of Florida, according to an op-ed in Townhall. The author argues that they are no longer needed as systemic bigotry is a thing of the past, although the groups still manufacture "microaggressions" to justify their existence. He accuses Democrats of prioritizing these groups over more pressing issues. An advisory from the NAACP urging people not to travel to Florida over measures including a ban on some books and courses prompted the writer to say he was grateful, as it might keep out "wealthy white suburbanites," or "lead locusts" who bring progressive policies with them wherever they go.

Townhall: How The Primaries Will Go
How The Primaries Will Go
Ron DeSantis and the governor of East Dakota (or is it one of the other Dakotas?) are now in the 2024 race, and Trump is nervous. DeSantis has a good chance of winning the nomination, but it's no lock. However, the other candidates are treading water in a sea of mediocrity. This is a two-man race. The most obvious course of events is that Trump continues on a glide path to victory. However, if the GOP electorate starts actually auditioning the candidates, Trump will have to work for it. Or they might decide that Ron DeSantis is the answer. This is not about 2020; it's about 2024 and not letting these perverts groom our kids.

Townhall: How the COVID-19 Pandemic Caused Massive Mental Illness on the Left
How the COVID-19 Pandemic Caused Massive Mental Illness on the Left
A rise in online vitriol and mental illness has been observed among the left over the past few years due to the COVID-19 lockdowns causing a sharp increase in mental health problems and leftists taking their own steps to isolate themselves from society. A 2022 study found that Democrats consistently reported worse mental health than Republicans. The fear that leftist government officials and the mainstream media put into people about COVID-19 contributed to mental illness.

Front Page Magazine: How Not to Fight Crime
How Not to Fight Crime
New York City Mayor Eric Adams vows not to let criminals undermine the livelihood of New Yorkers, announcing a "Second Chance" effort to combat retail theft. Shoplifters can avoid punishment through RESTORE, which aims to address underlying causes of theft. Critics argue that the root cause of the crime wave is a lack of consequences, with statistics showing a rise in thefts during the year of BLM highlighting that the criminal justice system no longer functions and how the police have stopped enforcing the law. Adams' proposals will route criminals into the social services bureaucracy and provide financial incentives for community groups and activists to spearhead pro-crime policies.
