The Epoch Times: UK Police to Help Crack Down on People Smugglers in North Africa
UK police officers will join forces with North African countries to tackle people-smuggling gangs, according to reports. The National Crime Agency (NCA) will assist in efforts by nations in the region to stop people traffickers, amid predictions that up to 400,000 migrants will seek to travel to Europe this summer. Record numbers of people crossed the English Channel last year in small boats, although fewer than 7,000 have been detected on the journey this year. Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick will visit Algeria, Tunisia, Italy and France to discuss global migration crime, as the Home Office launches a Facebook and Instagram campaign aimed at deterring Albanian nationals from making the trip.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called for an election, scheduled for 23 July, following poor results for his Socialist party in local and regional elections. Breitbart: Suspected WW2 War Grave Robber Ship Detained
Malaysia's maritime agency found a cannon shell believed to be from WWII on a Chinese-registered vessel while investigating if the ship was involved in the looting of two British warship wrecks in the South China Sea. The HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales were sunk in 1941 by Japanese torpedoes and are naval war graves. Illegal salvage operators were believed to have targeted the wrecks days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The rusty cannon shell found on the vessel is linked to police seizure of unexploded artillery and other relics at a private scrapyard in Johor, which were believed to be from the warships.

The Epoch Times: Questioning Inflation Figures as US Consumer Price Index Drops to 4.9%
The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell to a one-year annualized rate of 4.9 percent, a reduction from June's peak of 9.1 percent. Critics claim that this is still unacceptably high, but some believe that the true rate of inflation may be much higher. Others point out that the CPI is only a statistical estimate, and that consumers substitute goods and services depending on various factors. The effect on inflation is therefore hard to estimate, and we must separate overall price inflation from inflationary and deflationary shocks. Many serious analysts predict that the CPI will range from around 3–5 percent, but inflation during the subsequent recovery will depend on how much money central bankers create to pull the economy out of the dive.

Retirees must prepare to live off dividends along with savings and pension funds. (, , )

Fox News: Ron DeSantis reflects on Navy career, warns military is ‘different’ from when he served
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis aims to boost morale in the US military, arguing that leftist policies have caused recruiting to plummet and driven away warriors. DeSantis joined the navy in 2004 and served until 2010, earning a promotion to lieutenant during that time. He has made plans to counter China, but said the immediate need is to reinstate faith in the institution. Americans have begun to view the military as overly politicized and half the country is concerned that the Pentagon is ‘too woke’.

The Federalist Papers: 'Non-Binary' Ex-Official Had a Big Role in the Anti-Christian Group Invited to LA Dodgers Game
Former Biden DOE official Sam Brinton, who was charged with stealing a woman's luggage, has been associated with the anti-Catholic organization Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group that was initially uninvited, then invited again, to the Los Angeles Dodgers' “pride month” celebration on June 16. Brinton was listed as the principal officer of the group between 2016 and 2018 in D.C. tax filings. According to Fox News, LA Pride threatened to boycott the event if the organization wasn't included, so the team ultimately caved. The Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles criticized the decision in a statement a day later.

The Epoch Times: Most Infected in COVID Outbreak at CDC Were Vaccinated, Agency Confirms
An outbreak of COVID-19 occurred at a conference attended by 1,800 U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) members and others in Atlanta in April, despite the fact that 99.4% of attendees were vaccinated. Despite the vaccination rate, 181 attendees reported testing positive for the virus, with around 360 attendees not responding to a follow-up survey. As the CDC has not provided further information, it remains unclear how many of those infected were registered as vaccinated and whether they had received an updated bivalent vaccine. The incident shows that COVID-19 can continue to spread via superspreader events.

Forbes: Gamers Are Angry At Stock Market Darling Nvidia—Here’s Why
Nvidia's stock price has risen over 170% this year, but gamers are less impressed with the company's latest gaming GPU, the RTX 4000 series, citing steep prices, confusing marketing and a lack of features. The rollout of the upper-tier RTX 4080 and flagship RTX 4090 also disappointed some, as did the confusion over the naming scheme of one now-released GPU, which was initially called RTX 4080 and is now named RTX 4070Ti. Negative reviews led the RTX 4060Ti value tier GPU to sell poorly, according to reports.
