The Epoch Times: Florida Man at Center of Fatal Human Smuggling Case Pleads Not Guilty in Minnesota
Florida man Steve Shand has pleaded not guilty to human smuggling charges after four illegal Indian immigrants were found dead last year near the Canadian border. The dead were identified by survivors as being part of a family, which included an infant and a teenager. Five other Indian nationals were found walking and two more were found in Shand's van. Shand has not been charged in their deaths and has been released without bond, but must obey several conditions. His trial has been set for July 17. Authorities have stated that the case is believed to be linked to a larger smuggling operation along the Canadian border.

Liberty Nation: Trump or DeSantis – That Is the Question
Conservative voters in a focus group organized by Liberty Nation were asked whether they prefer Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis for the GOP nomination, with former President Trump leading DeSantis by 33 points in the Real Clear Politics average. Despite respondents giving different reasons, there was an overwhelming desire to give Trump another shot at the Oval Office, with only one member preferring DeSantis, citing Trump's supposed polarization of the nation and the Democrat's preference for voting for the Florida governor. While focus groups are inherently unscientific and preliminary, they give us an early indication of Republican sentiment ahead of the 2024 primary season.

Euromaidan Press: Ukrainian strikes at occupied Berdiansk destroy “huge” amount of Russian troops – mayor
Explosions have rocked the Russian-occupied city of Berdiansk, Ukraine, targeting a military base and causing multiple casualties. The strikes, reportedly carried out by the Ukrainian Army, hit recreation centers Khimik and Vesna, where a significant number of Russian military personnel were based. Deputy head of the Berdiansk district council, Viktor Dudukalov, believes the number of troops killed could be in the hundreds. These attacks are thought to be a precursor to Ukraine’s counteroffensive against Russia, aimed at breaking through the landbridge leading to Crimea. This comes after previous strikes on Russian military headquarters in the same area.

The Epoch Times: Even Verstappen Would Like to See Alonso Win Again
Max Verstappen beat Fernando Alonso to pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix, admitting he would like to see the ever-green Aston Martin driver win again. Alonso was on provisional pole until Verstappen pulled out a jaw-dropping lap. The Spaniard jokingly suggested Verstappen could help him out on Sunday with a poor start. Verstappen said he admired the driving style of the two-time world champion. Alonso has had four third place finishes in five races since he joined Aston Martin this season and Sunday should see him go at least one better.
Liberty Nation: BLM Burns Through All the ‘White Guilt Money’
Following the death of George Floyd in 2020, Black Lives Matter (BLM) received over $90 million in donations. However, financial disclosures show that in the most recent tax year BLM's flagship organization ran an $8.5 million deficit and had a $961,000 loss on a securities sale of $172,000. In June 2022, BLM Global Network Foundation raised only $9.3 million, an 88 percent decrease from the previous year. BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors was accused of financial improprieties and was forced to step down from her position. She acknowledged that the majority of the donations were "white guilt money". BLM was sued by Black Lives Matter Grassroots over more than $10 million in donations paid out as "fees" to a "consulting firm" run by Shalomyah Bowers. BLM Global Network Foundation responded to the suit by utilizing the same language of victimization it had deployed in tapping into all that white guilt money.
