The Blaze: White House, Republicans reportedly strike a deal to raise the debt ceiling and avoid default
Reports indicate that the White House and Republicans have reached a preliminary agreement to raise the nation's debt ceiling, thereby averting a default situation. The deal will involve raising the debt limit for two years and capping government spending over the same period, and both parties will review the text of the agreement overnight. While aimed at enticing votes from both parties, some Democrats are reportedly unhappy with the proposed cuts involved in the deal.
The Federalist Papers: Gutfeld Shreds '80-Year-Old White Hag' Joy Behar After Host Took Shots at Black Republicans
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld has called out Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” for her comments against black Republicans like Tim Scott. Behar likened Scott to Clarence Thomas and claimed that Scott did not truly understand the challenges facing black Americans today, nor does he understand “systemic” racism pervading American society. Gutfeld hit back at Behar, saying that it was hypocritical and outrageous for an old white woman to lecture black people on anti-black racism especially one who has appeared in blackface before. Gutfeld argued that by demonizing people who are in any way conservative, regardless of their background, the left cannot tolerate any dissent from their worldview. This includes minorities who have, historically, been claimed by the left as their own.
The Epoch Times: Opposition Questions Labor's Decision to Cut Home Affairs Budget
Senate estimates have revealed the Australian government's Home Affairs department may be underfunded by over $1 billion, leaving concerns over the country's national security. The department had been promised a budget of $8.59 billion but received $7.48 billion, cutting $300 million this financial year alone, with nearly $1.1 billion lost over two years. Opposition Home Affairs Minister James Paterson questioned whether serious national security issues can afford to lose such sums and called for more attention from the federal government. Head of Home Affairs Michael Pezzullo played down the concern, stating his confidence in receiving necessary funding to succeed in his agency's tasks.

Mester stated “price pressures remain pretty darn high and pretty stubborn” and that the news of slow progress is concerning. The inflation progress has moved slowly and signs of inconsistency have led to growing concern over remaining stubborn pieces that need to be addressed.

Fox News: SIDS linked to brain abnormality that increases babies’ risk in ‘unsafe sleep conditions,’ study finds
A new study led by researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School reveals that abnormalities in a particular receptor in the medulla oblongata, part of the lower brain stem that regulates autonomic and respiratory function, may cause some unexplained sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) deaths. The study found that when a baby isn’t getting enough oxygen, the serotonin receptor 2A/C triggers the baby’s natural instinct to gasp for air. Researchers analysed brain tissue from 70 infants who died, and all 58 of the babies who died from SIDS were shown to have the altered serotonin receptor 2A/C. Experts recommend safe sleep habits such as putting babies to sleep on their backs on a firm, flat surface at naptime and bedtime.
