The couple had rejected care for their child and waited hours to call for assistance. The medical examiner disclosed that the toddler had sepsis, pneumonia, and stage 5 ulcers. The couple was arrested on May 13 for negligent child abuse causing great harm and has since been upgraded to aggravated manslaughter.
