Breitbart: Gabbard: Democratic Party 'an Elitist Cabal of Warmongers — Corrupt Politicians, Propaganda Media, Big Tech and the National Security State'
Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard criticized the Democratic Party for driving people away with their far-left policies. Host Laura Ingraham suggested it was due to a "lurch to the left", to which Gabbard replied that the party was moving towards "insanity." She claimed that Democrats were tearing apart America with identity politics, censoring opposing views, and racializing everything. Gabbard accused an elitist cabal, including corrupt politicians, the media, big tech, and the national security state, of weaponizing their power to go after political opponents and undermine the Constitution.
The Federalist Papers: AOC's Spending Rant Would Have JFK Rolling in His Grave, Highlights How Far Dems Have Fallen
New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) comments on the debt ceiling debate show a shift away from the values of the Democratic Party. AOC's sentiment was that Americans should not ask what they can do for their country, but why their government isn't doing everything for them. However, JFK's inaugural speech expressed a belief that a free society could only succeed if the individuals in it are willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. The article concludes that the Democratic Party's values have shifted away from those of JFK's era.
Daily Wire: New Yorkers Shout At AOC Over Border Crisis, Ukraine War During Chaotic Town Hall
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez faced furious constituents in a town hall in Queens who criticized her stance on illegal immigration, raising the debt ceiling, and funding Ukraine. One man walked towards the stage wearing a shirt with a Cuban flag and holding an American flag, shouting “American citizens before migrants!” before being escorted out of the hall by security. Ocasio-Cortez was also criticized for her support of funding Ukraine and her comments on eliminating the debt limit.
Breitbart: Turley: The FBI Appears to Be Obstructive on Alleged Biden Wrongdoing
Jonathan Turley, a Fox News contributor, predicts ongoing resistance from the FBI as Congress investigates alleged wrongdoing by President Biden and his family. Turley questions whether the agency may have been complicit in shielding the president and his family, and suggests that the FBI may be obstructing Congress's oversight function. He also warns against giving the FBI too much benefit of the doubt, given previous instances of political bias and a lack of institutional change.

Breitbart: Ossoff: Default Threat 'Already Doing Damage' But I Won't Criticize Biden for Refusing to Negotiate
Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) believes that the threat of default is already harming the US economy and denounces the "reckless financial brinksmanship" of Republicans. He thinks that threatening financial cataclysm as a legislative tactic is an unsound way to govern and that the House majority should go through the federal budget process to work out compromises and common ground. Ossoff does not criticize President Joe Biden for refusing to engage on the debt ceiling, as there is a huge amount at stake beyond routine politics and punditry. Ossoff believes that the threat of default is doing damage to the US economy and to the long-run financial credibility of US sovereign commitments.
Breitbart: GOP Rep. Dusty Johnson: There Isn't Any Clear Plan for IRS Money Biden Defends, They Can't Say It Won't Be Used to Target Middle Class
Republican Rep. Dusty Johnson of South Dakota criticized the Biden administration for not giving clear plans on how to use the extra $80 billion in IRS funding to catch tax cheats without harassing the middle class. Johnson said that investing in customer service or technologies to catch tax cheats would be different but that there hasn't been a clear administration plan on how to use the money. He also raised concerns about adding more federal government auditors without sufficient proof.

The Federalist Papers: NYC Mayor Adams Signs Bill Banning Weight Discrimination, Says ‘Body Type’ No Bearing On 'Whether You’re Healthy Or Unhealthy’
NYC's Mayor Eric Adams has signed a bill prohibiting height and weight discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations, claiming that "body type" has no connection to a person's health. Despite lacking scientific evidence to support his assertion, the bill is being defended as necessary for fairness rather than fighting obesity. However, organizations like the CDC have made it clear that obesity poses increased risks for serious diseases and health conditions. The signing of this law has sparked some debate surrounding the role of body type in health, but represents a step towards addressing discrimination based on physical attributes.

The Blaze: Video: Chicago beach closed within hours after opening when gunshots erupt; Gov. Pritzker deploys 'peacekeepers' in anticipation of Memorial Day weekend violence
Gunshots rang out at Chicago's North Avenue Beach shortly after it opened for the season on Friday. One person was arrested, and police recovered two guns. No injuries were reported; however, several people were taken to the hospital to be treated for intoxication. The shooting occurred less than 24 hours after newly-elected Mayor Brandon Johnson unveiled a plan to attempt to combat violence during the Memorial Day weekend. Despite having strict gun laws, Chicago has a reputation for widespread gun violence during Memorial Day weekend. The Illinois Department of Human Services announced the deployment of 30 "peacekeepers" to provide de-escalation, conflict resolution, and crisis support across Chicago.

The Epoch Times: Police Looking for Suspect After Calgary Church Set on Fire
The Calgary Police Service is seeking help to identify a man who allegedly set fire to and assaulted two church staff members at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The police received a call about a “deliberately set fire” and when two staff members opened the door, the man tried to enter the church despite their efforts to close the door. The suspect is described as around 35 to 45 years old, with a bald or shaved head, 6 feet tall, and 180 pounds. The police are investigating whether the attack was hate-motivated.
Several church burnings have occurred in Canada over the past two years. On May 22, the RCMP was called to St. Bernard Catholic Church to help with a fire in Grouard, and two men were charged with arson and break and enter to commit theft. The incident occurred around the two-year anniversary of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nations discovering the burial sites of 215 children at the Kamloops Indian Residential School. Shortly after the announcement, several churches were damaged or destroyed by arson across different provinces. Most church burning cases have yet to result in any charges or convictions. ( )

The Epoch Times: Hugh Grant's Lawsuit Alleging Illegal Snooping by the Sun Tabloid Cleared for Trial
The Sun tabloid loses attempt to dismiss actor Hugh Grant's lawsuit accusing staff of illegally snooping on him. A trial will determine whether Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers carried out unlawful information gathering, including tapping phones and breaking into Grant's home. Grant had previously settled a phone hacking claim with News Group's former publication News of the World, which was closed in 2011 following allegations of voicemail interception. The case proceeds on allegations the actor became aware of in 2021 after private investigator Gavin Burrows began disclosing alleged acts of phone tapping, bugging, and burglary on behalf of the paper.
