The incident is believed to have stemmed from an argument over an unpaid bar tab, with Masson having originally called the authorities to report a robbery. The 27-year-old Quebecer had been in the area visiting with his Mexican girlfriend.

The parents allegedly let the child rot in the bed and are being held on $100,000 bond each.
