The Epoch Times: Firefighters Stamp out Montreal Heritage Building Blaze 42 Hours After It Ignited
A 5-alarm fire broke out at a 19th-century former monastery in Montreal, requiring the intervention of 150 firefighters and lasting 42 hours. The cause and estimate of damages are unknown, but an investigation will begin on Monday. No one was injured, but 59 people are being cared for by the Red Cross. The building, recognized as a heritage site in 1979, served as a mixed-use building with a chapel that is now a concert hall known for exceptional acoustics. The building housed a Fazioli concert grand piano and a 1772 Kirckman harpsichord, both of which were extracted or expected to be removed from the building.

Mexican authorities have now made an arrest, connecting a man in the beach town with Masson's murder. The incident is believed to have stemmed from an argument over an unpaid bar tab, with Masson having originally called the authorities to report a robbery. The 27-year-old Quebecer had been in the area visiting with his Mexican girlfriend.

The parents reportedly rejected health care assistance and feared that the Florida Department of Children and Families would take their other children. The parents allegedly let the child rot in the bed and are being held on $100,000 bond each.
