The Epoch Times: Trump and Conservatives Condemn Impeachment of Texas AG Ken Paxton
Trump and Conservatives Condemn Impeachment of Texas AG Ken Paxton
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a staunch GOP conservative, has been impeached by the GOP-led Texas House on accusations of bribery, obstruction of justice, and abuse of public trust. Supporters of former President Donald Trump and other conservative heavy-hitters took to social media to defend Paxton. The move against Paxton was condemned as an “unfair process that should not be allowed to happen or proceed” by Trump, who attacked GOP speaker Dade Phelan on Truth Social, and Sen. Cruz and Rep. Greene also condemned the effort. The battle between GOP factions in Texas was apparent when Paxton accused Phelan of being drunk while presiding on the House floor on May 19 and called for Phelan’s resignation. Paxton was endorsed by Trump and was reelected to a third term in November as the state’s top law enforcement officer.

Washington Free Beacon: Biden Wavers, Makes Tentative Debt Ceiling Deal With Republicans
Biden Wavers, Makes Tentative Debt Ceiling Deal With Republicans
President Biden and top Republican Kevin McCarthy reached a tentative agreement to raise the federal government's debt ceiling and end a months-long stalemate. The deal would raise the debt limit for two years and cap spending over that time, but is not absolute and needs to pass Congress before the US runs out of money in early June. The Republicans pushed for steep cuts to spending and new work requirements on some benefit programs for low-income Americans in exchange for raising the debt ceiling. The two sides have to compromise to clear both the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and the Democrat-controlled Senate.

The American Spectator: Resisting the Alphabet Reich
Resisting the Alphabet Reich
The LGBTQ lobby demands followers identify themselves by their sexual preference and pronouns, reducing them to mere sexual desires. The rainbow mafia's fanatical devotees fear conservatives like Ron DeSantis because they threaten the existence of gay and trans people by discouraging talk of sexual deviancies. The Catholic Church provides an identity larger than the self, unlike the subhuman identity promoted by LGBTQ ideology.

Taiwan Reports Chinese Aircraft Carrier Sailed Through Strait
The Chinese aircraft carrier Shandong sailed through the Taiwan Strait accompanied by two other ships. Taiwan's military closely monitored the group using its own ships and aircraft. China's defense ministry did not comment, and the country's armed forces made no mention of the sailing.

The Federalist Papers: Arkansas Street Preacher Pulled Over, Placed Under Arrest for Anti-LGBT 'Sermon' Given a Year Before
Arkansas Street Preacher Pulled Over, Placed Under Arrest for Anti-LGBT 'Sermon' Given a Year Before
Jeremy Anders, a street preacher in Arkansas, was arrested almost a year after he preached against homosexuality and local businesses' engagement with LGBT causes, including a restaurant named Stella's, prompting its owner to file a complaint about his aggressive videos on Facebook. A police report on the evening of June 5, 2022, lists the owner of Stella's and Shannon Hix, the founder of an LGBT organization called "Batesville PRIDE," as the witnesses to Anders's preaching. Although Anders claimed he never returned to Stella's, he was unknowingly issued an arrest warrant for misdemeanor harassment three days after the police report and was eventually arrested on April 20, 2023.

The Epoch Times: They Are Scared: Proponents of Gender Affirmation Showed Their Fear at a Conference
They Are Scared: Proponents of Gender Affirmation Showed Their Fear at a Conference
Trans activists fear new "anti-trans" bills being passed in Republican states that seek to safeguard children and prevent minors from being medicalized. In a CAMFT training conference, attendees shared misinformation, such as how puberty blockers are as harmless as a new haircut or clothing style, and that some children know they are trans as young as three years old. Instructors downplayed the numbers of detransitioners, and the amount of puberty blockers prescribed was downplayed to argue against legislation against it. Our collective voices need to continue speaking up against the gender transition of minors and vulnerable adults to make a change.

The American Spectator: Caps, Gowns, and Rude Interruptions
Caps, Gowns, and Rude Interruptions
Students at Boston University’s commencement ceremony heckled Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, with many standing up with their back to him, clapping or booing. The animosity directed at Zaslav, who told students to “show up”, may have been spurred by the current Writers Guild of America strike. Disinvitations of speakers became common in 2016, but universities now seek out “anodyne” talks by speakers who do not hold controversial views. However, this means that few conservatives are invited to speak. The increasing unwillingness to allow students to hear opposing opinions poses a risk to intellectual development.

Tennis Player Has Complete Meltdown, Uses His Racket as Weapon After Umpire's Controversial Call
Mikael Ymer was ejected from the Lyon Open in France after violently attacking an umpire's viewing tower with his own tennis racket. Ymer's meltdown began when an umpire declined to call a return from opponent Arthur Fils as out of bounds. After losing a subsequent game-breaking point to Fils, Ymer took out his anger on the umpire's chair, leading to his disqualification from the competition.
