German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's comments about climate activists were not related to police raids on properties linked with the group Last Generation, according to a spokesperson. The group is being probed for its finances and whether it is a criminal organisation after repeated protests, including road blockades. Scholz said prior to the raids that it was "completely nutty to somehow stick yourself to a painting or on the street" in reference to the group's actions. Last Generation has criticised Scholz, while the UN said on Thursday people had a right to demonstrate peacefully.
