American Thinker: Was the Durham Report a distraction to cover up something even worse?
Is the Durham report a distraction from illegal warrantless searches by the FBI? A recent report revealed that over 278,000 unauthorized searches occurred between 2016 and 2020, potentially including those run by left-leaning law firm Perkins Coie, which had FBI portal access. The author questions whether the timing of these reports is intended to distract from these issues, and urges Americans to be skeptical of potential distractions from important matters.
National Review: Applying the Clarence Thomas Family Standard to the Biden Family
Do we have one standard of ethics for everyone or two? Critics accuse Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of impropriety for accepting favors from a wealthy friend including home repairs and private-school tuition for Thomas's grandnephew. While some argue that Thomas has an obligation to recuse himself, critics have been unable to show a conflict of interest. In contrast, President Joe Biden's family has received millions from shady foreign interests. Chinese state-owned enterprises provided much of the money, which was routed through shell companies to conceal it. Biden should recuse himself from any policy decisions involving China, Ukraine, or Romania and should not be deciding matters for the whole nation.
Red State: DeSantis: I Will Be 'Aggressive at Issuing Pardons' to Victims of DOJ Weaponization on Day One
Ron DeSantis, newly declared GOP presidential candidate and current governor of Florida, vows to tackle problems of political weaponization of the Department of Justice if elected. DeSantis plans to push back on the first day of his administration and to aggressively use the power of the pardon bestowed by the Constitution. He will start taking names right away and will find examples where the government has been weaponized against disfavored groups and apply relief as appropriate.
American Thinker: Entropy, Joe Biden, and the Progressive Left
Joe Biden's decline into incompetence is an allegory for the collapse of the Progressive Left and the Democrat Party. The Second Law of Thermodynamics, where the increase of entropy leads to an increase in chaos, is at work in Biden's mind and body, as well as in the institutions controlled by the Progressive Left. The energy systems become self-absorbed and isolated, leading to a decline in productivity and chaos. This is evident in education, major corporations, law enforcement, and the rise of crime in large cities. The prevalence of narcissism and virtue-signaling in positional authority also contributes to chaos in the culture.
Fox News: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz vetoes bill mandating higher pay, job security for Uber/Lyft drivers
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz vetoed a bill that would have mandated job security and higher pay for Uber and Lyft drivers on May 25, 2023. Uber threatened to cut off services to all of Minnesota except Minneapolis-St. Paul if the legislation was signed. Uber and Lyft drivers staged peaceful demonstrations outside Gov. Walz's office at the Minnesota Capitol over the past week.
While Walz vetoed the bill, he also signed an executive order commissioning a study about the working conditions of ride-hail drivers and how potential changes could affect costs and access for riders. His order also sets up a committee to make recommendations by Jan. 1 for legislation to ensure that drivers receive fair compensation, ensure due process before drivers are terminated, limit the impact on fares, and ensure continued operation of ride-hail services in Minnesota.
The Epoch Times: DeSantis Says He's ‘Got a Good Chance’ of Defeating Trump in 2024
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida hints at why Donald Trump constantly criticizes him, suggesting it's because Trump recognizes that DeSantis could win the GOP nomination in 2024. DeSantis believes his successful record in Florida makes him a strong candidate, and claims he is capable of winning elections across the political spectrum. Trump is currently leading amongst GOP voters, according to a recent poll, with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott, and Asa Hutchinson trailing behind.
American Thinker: Recipe for Disaster: A Democrat President and a Democrat Senate
Biden's Democrat-controlled Senate is approving any cabinet member or judge to further their agenda. Secretary of State Tony Blinken is connected to George Soros through his father and has faced criticism for his handling of foreign policy, as well as a lack of transparency about his designation of former Albanian president Sali Berisha and his family. Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security, has been accused of intervening to obtain a sentence commutation for the son of a major Democrat Party donor and assisting foreign investors connected to top Democrats. Nancy Gbana Abudu, who is nominated for the 11th Circuit Court, is late of the ACLU and SPLC and is an advocate for voting rights.
Red State: Terrified CNN Decries 'Horrible' New Polling for Joe Biden, and It Only Gets Worse From There
A new CNN poll shows that 66% of Americans see a potential Biden re-election as a "setback" or "disaster." Even worse, Biden's favorable rating has dropped to just 35%. In the latest Fox News poll, only 7% of independents believe that Biden's policies are helping their families, making it clear that he's a complete failure.
Liberty Nation: Sackett’s Land: SCOTUS Picks the People Over EPA
The Supreme Court issued two rulings with significant implications for American liberty. In Sackett v. EPA, it was ruled that an Idaho landowner was freed from EPA aggression, which used a significant-nexus test to establish jurisdiction. The EPA classified the wetlands on the Sacketts’ lot as “waters of the United States”, putting a staggering array of landowners at risk of criminal prosecution for moving dirt. This decision was viewed as a major pushback against the regulatory state. In Tyler v. Hennepin County, the Court ruled that a property owner has a constitutional right to sue local government authorities who seized and sold her home to satisfy a delinquent property tax. This has implications for government overreach and secured property rights.

The Epoch Times: Review Launched Into Hindu–Muslim Unrest in Leicester
The UK government has commissioned an independent review into violent clashes between Hindu and Muslim communities in Leicester last year. The unrest followed India’s victory over Pakistan in a cricket match, and led to arrests and attacks on places of worship. A panel of experts, led by Lord Ian Austin, will provide recommendations to improve relations between the two communities. The review follows criticism of social media influencers for pushing misinformation about the role of Hindutva in the unrest.
Fox News: Bama Rush: Inside University of Alabama's wild and 'cutthroat' sorority recruitment process
Prospective sorority members go to extreme measures to enter sorority life at the University of Alabama, including hiring recruitment specialists. The documentary "Bama Rush" showcases the top recruitment school in the country and explores the intense, cutthroat nature of the rush process, which can cost new members upwards of $8,000 per year. The film also touches on the tradition and mystery surrounding Alabama's Greek life system, including a "secret" society called The Machine.
The Epoch Times: West 'Dead in the Water' If Identity Politics Persists Warns UK Author
Identity politics are overshadowing bigger existential concerns such as China's rise, warns British author Doug Stokes, who criticises alleged anti-racist drives that label objectivity and truth as oppressive. Stokes views intersectionality, a concept that has led to identity politics, as an endless psychodrama that will demoralise the West and opened the possibility for Russian, and now Chinese, regimes to weaponise it. In the UK, 100 universities have subscribed to the Race Equality Charter which aims to change institutional culture instead of individual practices to address racial inequalities. Stokes criticises the charter's view of society, which he says denigrates western values, history, and culture.

The Epoch Times: [VIDEO] America’s proud farming heritage: People thrilled to watch 2,500+ sheep streaming down Idaho’s largest highway
Thousands of sheep cross Idaho’s largest highway annually, reminding many of America’s farming history. The massive public sheep transfer event requires dedicated coordination that involves the Eagle Police Department for traffic control. The crossing involves around 2,500 sheep, with the process wrapping up in around 15 minutes. The sheep then move into the foothills of Boise, and continue on into Boise National Forest, covering several miles on their journey. The past hundred years has seen Idaho’s ranchers move herds of sheep from low pastures up into the mountains every spring, and this still remains an important and nostalgic part of the state’s unique heritage.

The Federalist: Khloe Kardashian Says Surrogacy Is A ’Transactional Experience’
Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian revealed on the Season 3 premiere of Hulu’s “The Kardashians” that she did not immediately connect with her biological son because he was born via surrogate. Khloe’s feelings are not uncommon, especially among celebrities. In fact, they are all too prevalent among women who pay to outsource pregnancy. Babies who are separated from the woman who carried them for nine months often suffer from increased stress and even brain structure alterations.
Surrogacy deliberately severs important and life-changing bonds. In some cases, parents choose to pay thousands of dollars to rent someone else’s womb simply to avoid the symptoms and bodily changes required of carrying a baby. The profit-driven fertility market in the U.S. preys on the poor and exploits them for profit while ignoring the severe side effects surrogacy has for babies, mothers, and surrogate moms. Jordan Boyd suggests that the only way to protect mothers and babies from the physical and emotional trauma that comes with surrogacy is to decommercialize it and maybe even ban it completely, like most of Europe already has.
The Epoch Times: Changes in Gut Bacteria May Cause Parkinson’s: Study
A study has revealed that Desulfovibrio bacteria, which is found in the gut, could be a key contributor to Parkinson's disease. Recent research by the University of Helsinki has shown that infection with this bacteria could create changes in the gut that could lead to the development of the neurodegenerative disease. The bacteria, which produces a gas neurotransmitter called hydrogen sulfide, could lead to the aggregation of alpha-synuclein, a protein closely associated with the Parkinson's disease. Probiotic imbalance and colon deviation also have an impact. Understanding the influence of the gut-brain axis on neurodegenerative disease opens up novel opportunities for therapeutic interventions; fecal microbiota transplantation looks promising in targeting the microbiome.

National Review: North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper Jumps the Shark with Fake Emergency Declaration
Governor Cooper's "state of emergency" declaration for public education was political theater that undermines government effectiveness. Private schools receiving vouchers are accountable, and leaders should focus on creating a genuinely accountable education system.

The Texas Rangers are dominating in the American League West, leading by three games over the Houston Astros with a record of 31-18. With legendary Bruce Bochy at the helm, the team is excited to be back in relevance.
Forbes: Harry Kane Is The Answer To A Very Large Manchester United Question Going Into Next Season
Manchester United are targeting Tottenham's Harry Kane as their priority position for the upcoming summer transfer window, with the striker being their primary target to fill the number nine position. Kane has one year left on his contract, and although the rumored fee is a staggering £100 million, United will likely have to face off against Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy to sign the striker. Kane has almost guaranteed 25+ Premier League goals per season, making him a more reliable signing than younger, international forwards that Manchester United have also been linked with.
Manchester United's victory over Chelsea led them to the Champions League group stages, and with an xG of 5.3 against West London, they will need a strong number nine to help them perform in the group stages. While Erik Ten Hag has guided United to their first group stage appearance since 2021, they will need a consistent goal-scorer to meet their aspirations. For United fans, the thought of Kane playing alongside Marcus Rashford provokes excitement, but it remains to be seen if a deal will be made as Levy will want to earn as much as possible for his star player or risk losing him for free in the following 12 months.

Fox News: Creepy new voice cloning coming to iPhone
Apple is launching a new feature on iOS 17 called Personal Voice, which allows users to create synthesized voices that mimic their own. This breakthrough voice cloning tool helps those with speech difficulties, or people diagnosed with ALS who may one day lose their voices. Once securely stored on the device, the user's cloned voice can be used with another feature called Live Speech to convert typed text into a real-time synthetic voice for phone or FaceTime calls, replacing the need for reading messages. Apple's intent is to enhance accessibility to voices people are familiar with and help those who communicate better through spoken rather than written words.
Although the feature can bring comfort and ease for some, this futuristic tool may seem unnerving or downright eerie to others. The Personal Voice feature aims to aid people in the future who may no longer be able to easily speak their own words out loud. But our devices are evolving to not just be smart but are turning into our digital doppelgängers, raising questions of whether we are ready to distinguish between a real and cloned voice of someone we know. The future of technology is unfolding before us, and it sounds eerily like us.

National Review: The EPA Is Stopped at the Water’s Edge
The Supreme Court settled a decades-long dispute over the scope of the Clean Water Act (CWA) in Sackett v. EPA. The court finally defined "waters of the United States," ruling that only "relatively permanent, standing or continuously flowing bodies of water forming geographical features that are described in ordinary parlance as streams, oceans, rivers, and lakes” can be regulated by the CWA. The decision provides a clear and comprehensible reading of the law, ending decades of uncertainty for landowners.
Fox News: Federal appeals court stays Environmental Protection Agency's rejection of Arkansas ozone pollution plan
The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has temporarily halted the EPA's rejection of Arkansas' compliance plan to protect the state's power plants and industrial sites from polluting air in other states. The EPA has rejected plans from Arkansas and 18 other states, but Arkansas filed a suit over the decision. Republican Attorney General Tim Griffin applauded the court's order, preventing the Biden administration from imposing a "one-size-fits-all federal implementation plan" that would jeopardize Arkansas jobs and its power grid.

The Ways and Means Committee has the authority to submit the information obtained from Shapley to both the Senate and the House of Representatives, thereby making the testimony public.
