Fox News: Massachusetts Senate passes $55.9B budget proposal
The Massachusetts Senate approves a $55.9 billion budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year, with a focus on higher education and transportation initiatives. The budget includes funding for in-state tuition rates for all Massachusetts students, regardless of immigration status, who attended high school in the state for at least three years. The budget also includes a free community college program for nursing students. The Senate plans to allocate the "millionaire's tax" revenue towards education and transportation initiatives and funnel money into the state's "rainy day" fund. The House and Senate will work together to draft a final budget proposal to be sent to Gov. Maura Healey by July.

Fox News: Tester reverses course, suggests Montana shouldn't have banned 'silly' TikTok app after signaling support
Senator Jon Tester has reversed from his position in March on his support for an outright ban of TikTok in Montana, calling the app “silly”. The state recently became the first in the US to ban the app, resulting in the likelihood of TikTok challenging the ban legally. The media platform would be fined $10,000 per day by Montana’s law, prohibiting downloads of the app by entities like app stores or TikTok, and potentially setting the stage for other states to enact a TikTok-free America.
Previously in March, Tester had voiced his support for the state to ban the app, stating that removing China’s access to US intelligence in order to maintain the freedom and privacy of Montanans was imperative. TikTok responded by filing a lawsuit against the state, claiming the ban was unconstitutional as it violated First Amendment rights. Tester has since said he would support TikTok’s CEO making a court appearance, interrogating the company over its “treasonous” activities, rather than ban the app altogether.
The Epoch Times: 'The Road to Socialism Runs Right Through a Divided Republican Party': Sen. Scott to GOP Presidential Rivals
Sen. Tim Scott warns that Democrats will "weaponize" everything said about Republican presidential candidates, regardless of the nominee, . Scott refrains from targeting GOP rivals, casting himself as an optimist who can take on "the radical left." He criticizes President Biden’s leadership and Democrats for using race to control election outcomes. Scott has the support of several top donors and members of Republican Senate leadership, including Sen. John Thune. He also has President Donald Trump's approval, who noted that they worked together on tax cuts. Scott trails behind Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy in the polls, with RealClearPolitics showing him at 1.9 percent as of May 25.
National Review: The Corner: DeSantis Makes His Anti-Trump Case
Ron DeSantis is making an anti-Trump case from the right, attacking Trump on electability and ability to govern, rather than being a Never Trump supporter. DeSantis argues that he is more electable than Trump and portrays Trump as attacking him from the left and not the same as he was in 2015-2016. With Ben Shapiro, DeSantis discusses the 2020 election and operates from the assumption it was "rigged." It remains to be seen if DeSantis can maintain the balance he's trying to strike in a less friendly environment, especially a debate stage.
Red State: House Republicans Rally Against Federal Reserve's Digital Dollar CBDC Pilot Programs
Congressman Alex X. Mooney introduced legislation to prevent a digital dollar, or Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) pilot program through the Federal Reserve. The Digital Dollar Pilot Prevention Act aims to close a loophole that the Federal Reserve is using in CBDC pilot projects. CBDC pilot projects are being conducted by other governments like China and Brazil. There are concerns among Congressional Republicans about the lack of statutory authority for the Federal Reserve to issue a CBDC without Congressional approval, and the potential threats to the liberties of law-abiding Americans and CBDC's use by authoritarian regimes to suppress dissent. Rep. Mooney is joined by 14 House Republicans as co-sponsors on H.R. 3712 including Pete Sessions, Bill Posey, and others. The bill has gained support from Club for Growth, Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, Americans for Tax Reform, and American Blockchain Initiative.
Breitbart: Durham to Publicly Testify to Congress on Report Revealing FBI Missteps
Special Counsel John Durham to testify before the House Judiciary Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in June regarding the recently published report which revealed that the FBI wrongly opened its investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion during the 2016 presidential election. The FBI failed to uphold certain standards during the high-profile Crossfire Hurricane investigation which was based on now-debunked allegations that Trump's campaign was working with political operatives from Russia. Republicans in the House are expected to question Durham on why certain former FBI officials did not cooperate with his investigation and why he did not pursue prosecution for key officials such as James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Peter Strzok.

The Epoch Times: Second Federal Judge Temporarily Blocks ATF Pistol Brace Rule Ahead of Registration Deadline
A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction against a new Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) rule that makes pistol stabilizing braces subject to the National Firearms Act of 1934. The injunction is in the SAF et al. v. ATF et al. lawsuit and grants relief to the plaintiffs only. Another related case, Mock v. The ATF rule will make millions of law-abiding citizens into criminals unless they remove, register, or convert the braces before the May 31 amnesty period ends, according to the ATF.
Breitbart: House Judiciary Committee Requests Documents over Bank of America Giving FBI Private Info
Bank of America has been asked by the House Judiciary Committee to provide documents and communications in relation to providing the FBI with private banking information of customers without legal process. The request follows allegations made by FBI whistleblowers that BoA provided the FBI with a list of anyone who used their services in Washington, DC, region within three days of the January 6 protests. Bank of America suggested the data provision was voluntary, but this has been disputed. The lawmakers also claim BoA specifically handed over private information of Americans exercising their Second Amendment right to purchase firearms.
Conservative Republicans in the House have written to Bank of America demanding they hand over any reports or communications linked to the provision of financial records to the FBI. This request comes after FBI whistleblowers testified that the bank provided a data dump of its customers' transactions, which included private details of those customers with no links to the events of January 6. The charges suggest the BoA provided the FBI financial information on Americans exercising their right to purchase firearms, and possibly did this voluntarily.

The Epoch Times: Friendships That Endure: Aesop's Fable, 'Two Travelers and a Bear'

The United States has committed an additional $1.8 billion in assistance to Ukraine, and Germany has pledged an additional $3 billion in aid.
Newsbusters: Communist Chinese Gov’t-Tied TikTok Jumps Into AI Arms Race
TikTok is testing a new AI chatbot called Tako in the Philippines, raising concerns about free speech and data privacy. With TikTok's history of censorship and ties to the Chinese Communist Party, the use of AI tools could pose a danger to users. Experts warn about the risks surrounding both AI and the invasive anti-free speech TikTok app. While it is unclear if TikTok intends to expand Tako or similar AI chatbots to other countries like the U.S., it seems likely. The app has been labeled a national security risk by multiple experts and lawmakers due to the CCP owning a board seat and a financial stake in its Chinese parent company ByteDance.

The Epoch Times: Federal Appeals Court Rules on Maine COVID Vaccine Mandate
A court ruling against Maine's COVID vaccine mandate for healthcare workers is viewed by some vaccine choice advocates as reinforcing medical freedom as a constitutional right. The court declared that state-mandated COVID vaccines without religious exemptions treats comparable secular and religious activity dissimilarly without adequate justification. The ruling confirms the argument of the plaintiffs' attorney in similar cases in other states and may incite legal remedies to government overreach in mandating vaccines.
The Epoch Times: Only 25 Percent of Sunscreens Offer Adequate Protection: Report
A recent report by the Environmental Working Group found that only 25% of sunscreens offer adequate protection and do not contain harmful ingredients, such as oxybenzone, which is considered a hormone disruptor and can contribute to coral reef destruction. While oxybenzone was found in only 6% of the SPF products tested, most sunscreens did not meet the EWG's safety standards, and do not offer adequate protection against harmful UVA rays. The EWG recommends avoiding sunscreens with oxybenzone, vitamin A, and ultra-high SPF values, and suggests using mineral sunscreens with broad-spectrum protection and SPF 50 or less.
