Fox News: 6 migrant traffickers arrested after opening fire on Albanian border police
Six migrant traffickers were arrested by Albanian police on Friday for allegedly organizing an illegal border crossing for people from Arab countries. The traffickers opened fire on border police and are accused of attempting to help migrants cross from Greece to Albania, Kosovo, and Serbia. The suspects, five Syrians and one Algerian, face charges of attempted murder and illegal weapons possession.
Daily Wire: ‘Mommy There’s Bad Guys At My Window:’ Border Patrol Wife Describes Dangers, Chaos On Southern Border
Alison Anderson, the wife of a border patrol agent, lives in Del Rio, Texas, a strategic location for illegal immigrants. Anderson keeps a gun within reach to protect her family since law enforcement is often overwhelmed or does not show up. Anderson's property has been crossed by fighting age men and criminals, such as convicted rapists. The danger caused by illegal immigration has become a day-to-day reality for Anderson and her family, who blame the Biden administration for empowering these migrants and putting border patrol agents at risk.

Daily Wire: New Details Emerge In Federal Criminal Investigation Into Democrat Senator Bob Menendez
Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) may have accepted gifts from a meat business worth possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for actions taken by Menendez as a senator. Federal prosecutors are investigating whether the gifts came from the associates of IS EG Halal. Menendez is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which puts him in charge of billions of dollars in aid to Egypt. IRS criminal investigators are also reviewing to see if Menendez and his wife reported the gifts on their tax filings. The report said that federal prosecutors are looking to see if anyone connected to the company paid any kind of a bribe to Egyptian officials, which would potentially violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In 2015, Menendez was indicted on bribery charges for allegedly accepting "luxury vacations, golf outings, campaign donations and expensive flights" from Florida physician Salomon Melgen in exchange for political favors.
The Epoch Times: Programs Not Delivering Results That Benefit Indigenous People, Despite Massive Government Spending
Politicians need to stop using spending announcements to divert from the fact that they aren't solving public policy challenges. Canadians should ensure that governments measure success on outcomes and improvements rather than just how much is spent. Despite the split in Indigenous Affairs between two departments, annual spending is still out of control and most programs are not benefiting Indigenous communities. Governments need to stop ballooning spending and ensure that programs are actually helping people. The federal government should commit to a full audit of the outcome of spending in every Indigenous community in the country, fund only required programs, jump-start Indigenous economies, and negotiate with bands about dismantling the bureaucracy and giving required services and program delivery over to First Nations themselves. Indigenous Affairs also needs to listen to Indigenous advocates and increase funding of band programs and services directly to individuals.
Forbes: Target’s Latest LGBTQ+ Merchandise Fallout Puts Its DEI Commitment To The Test, Again
Target is facing backlash and removing certain Pride Month merchandise after customers threatened its team members' safety. The controversy threatens Target's business more than its 2016 transgender bathroom policy boycott because many parents seek to protect their children from progressive policies in public schools related to sexual matters. This hurts Target at a critical time when it needs to draw patronage from a broad constituency of customers to keep delivering returns to shareholders.
The Federalist Papers: CNN Anchor Has No Choice But to Deliver 'Horrible News' for Biden On-Air
CNN's latest poll shows that only 33% of respondents view Biden's potential reelection as a good thing for the US, with 41% believing it would be a "disaster," and 26% seeing it as a setback. Biden's favorability has plummeted from 42% in December to just 35% now. CNN's political director noted an underlying weakness in Biden's strong majority of support among Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters, with 20% supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and 8% supporting Marianne Williamson. Additionally, the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found that 62% of respondents are concerned about Biden's mental fitness to continue as president.
National Review: The Corner: Half of All States Now Limit Elective Abortion to Twelve Weeks or Earlier
South Carolina governor signed a law that limits elective abortions to the first six weeks of pregnancy, making it the 23rd state to have a law protecting unborn children with detectable heartbeats. However, courts have blocked bans in several of those states, including South Carolina on Friday. Late-term elective abortion remains very much legal in many places in the United States. Meanwhile, in Colorado, Dr. Warren Hern has acted with impunity over the last 50 years as he killed, and still kills, infants in utero via lethal injection. Colorado has no legal limit on abortion through all nine months of pregnancy.
The Blaze: Study: Radical leftism linked to narcissism and psychopathy
A study out of Switzerland reveals the link between dark personalities, such as high levels of narcissism and psychopathy, and radical leftism. Those who are predisposed to leftist political activism may not be motivated by social justice or equality, but by their own ego-focused needs, according to the researchers. The study found that leftist authoritarianism is characterized by anticonventionalism, censorship, and antihierarchical aggression, which entails "the motivation to forcefully overthrow the established hierarchy and punish those in power." The study suggests that individuals with dark personalities on both the right and left are attracted to certain ideologies and forms of political activism.

Washington Free Beacon: Facing Lawsuit, Portland Agrees To Crack Down on Homeless Camps
Portland will remove at least 500 homeless camps from sidewalks after residents sued for violating the Americans with Disabilities and Rehabilitation Acts. The city will establish a 24-hour sidewalk camp reporting option, post “no camping” signs, and pay plaintiffs’ damages and attorneys’ fees. Portland has long allowed homeless people to camp on the sidewalks, coinciding with a crime spike that has led to business closures. San Francisco similarly fails to address homelessness, with more than 80% of residents feeling unsafe on public transit.
The Epoch Times: 'Politics and Sport Should Mix': Australia's Sporting Codes Vote Yes to Indigenous Voice
Sports organizations in Australia pledge to support the yes vote in the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum despite warnings from Indigenous leaders over the proposal’s divisive effect. More than 20 national sporting organizations, including major codes such as AFL and NRL, signed an open letter in support of the establishment of a legislative body comprising of Indigenous people. Prominent names such as former Australian Socceroo Jade North and retired AFL player Eddie Betts also pledged their support for the cause.
While sports organizations promote inclusivity and unity in supporting the Voice, several Indigenous leaders have warned of its potentially divisive effects. The proposal has been described as “putting one race above other races” and “dangerous” by Australian Aboriginal leader Warren Mundine, the former national president of the Australian Labor Party. Despite numerous failed attempts to change the Constitution since 1970, sporting figures, including national rugby league coach Mal Meninga, believe sports must play a role in what is a significant issue in Australian history.
National Review: The Corner: The Culture-War Crucible
Target and the LA Dodgers are receiving criticism for promoting LGBTQ+/Satanic product lines and a sacrilegious group, respectively. The panel on The Editors questions how companies can get "complacent" with such cultural indecencies, which are not just harmless and sanitized versions of LGBTQ+ products. The group highlights that such promotion is "making fun of core Catholic teachings" and ridiculing those who have given their lives to the church. There have been attempts to boycott Target in the past, and it remains to be seen if anything will come of it this time.

Foreign Policy: Homophobia Is Part of Putin’s War Plan
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been using anti-LGBTQ rhetoric as part of a propaganda strategy during the war in Ukraine to distract from the length and cost of the conflict and to appeal to far-right supporters in Western nations. Putin has portrayed the war as necessary to protect Russian children from LGBTQ "perversions" and to defend "traditional values" from Western influence. He has also extended anti-LGBTQ laws and made references to the issue in many of his speeches. However, some of Putin's far-right allies in Europe have distanced themselves from him since the invasion of Ukraine, fearing association with Putin's actions.

The Epoch Times: Trudeau Will Waive Cabinet Confidence for Committee Investigations Into Foreign Interference: Report
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has waived cabinet confidence for both the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) and the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA) so they can review classified documents on foreign election interference used by special rapporteur David Johnston to inform his recent report. The NSICOP is made up of four Liberal MPs, two Conservatives, one Bloc Québécois MP, one NDP MP and an independent senator, while NSIRA is chaired by former Supreme Court judge Marie Deschamps and includes a law professor, law dean, former national security and intelligence adviser who served under Prime Minister Stephen Harper and practising lawyer. Johnston recommended Trudeau waive cabinet confidence for both NSICOP and NSIRA so they can have access to the same confidential material he reviewed.
Breitbart: China Accuses 'White Leftists' of Using 'The Little Mermaid' to Colonize Culture
Chinese state-run media defends China's lack of interest in Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid starring black actress Halle Bailey amid accusations of racism. The Global Times dismissed the low-ticket sales in China, insisting it did not indicate any racism on the part of the audience, but rather was due to an alleged "disruption of the character who originally appeared as a white princess." The state newspaper condemned Bailey's casting in 2019, claiming it was a "lazy and irresponsible" way to include nonwhite faces in American entertainment.
The Global Times escalated its rhetoric on Friday, describing The Little Mermaid as a weapon in the hands of "white leftist" activists and wrongfully attacking the Chinese while imposing "cultural hegemony." The state newspaper further denied the accusations of racism, claiming Western countries' invasion of Africa brought in waves of anti-African racism, while China's efforts in Africa have been peaceful. However, the Chinese Communist Party has a long track record of anti-black racism, including in the entertainment industry.

The American Mind: Rethinking Globalization
Argentina's central bank raised its key interest rate to 97% to combat inflation rates above 100%. This nationalized usury may make it harder for Argentinian businesses to take out loans. In contrast, President Biden appears to be reaching a resolution with House Republicans on raising the debt ceiling, reducing public spending and decreasing the deficit, potentially putting less pressure on bankers at the Federal Reserve to increase interest rates to combat inflation.
Peter Zeihan's book "The End of the World Is Just the Beginning" explores how the United States' global "Order" has allowed nations across the world to industrialize, but also substitutes a solid American economy for a financialized one, and hollows out America's workforce. Zeihan explains how the Order is not sustainable, nor is it likely to last in current form for much longer, leading to widespread social and political chaos. For Americans, deglobalization will be an opportunity to return to manufacturing and agriculture, and engage with a free and dynamic American economy.
Forbes: Memorial Day Travel Surges: Here Are The States Where Gas Is Most Expensive And Cheapest Heading Into Weekend
Gas prices are on the rise heading into Memorial Day weekend, with the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the U.S. at $3.57 on Friday, up four cents from the week before. Despite the increase, gas prices are still down almost a dollar from a year ago as more Americans hit the road this year.
The Epoch Times: China's Pay Back to the US With Micron Ban Could Signal Decoupling From Both Sides: Expert
China's ban on Micron chip sales to critical information infrastructure operators due to cybersecurity concerns could increase the risk for foreign investors in the country and potentially force economic decoupling between China and the free world, according to an expert. Micron may have been fully aware and prepared for the ban, with the company acknowledging in March that the Chinese regime might restrict its participation in the Chinese market or prevent it from competing effectively with Chinese companies. Meanwhile, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was reportedly asked by the White House to urge Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix not to fill the market gap in China if Beijing bans Micron from selling chips, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida recently met with executives of global chip companies in an effort to foster the region's economic security without relying on China.
The New American: Raising the Debt Ceiling Doesn’t Restore Fiscal Sanity - The New American
Congress and the Biden administration are battling over federal spending and the debt ceiling, but the bigger issue is the federal government's unsustainable and reckless spending habits. The federal government spends much more than it takes in through taxes, with every American taxpayer owing $248,041 as part of the $32 trillion of federal debt, and two-thirds of federal spending categorized as "mandatory spending" that is on autopilot. The answer lies within the U.S. Constitution, specifically Article I, Section 8, which lists the enumerated powers Congress can legislate upon, and following which 80% of federal spending would disappear.

Fox News: Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw says team will hold Christian Faith and Family Day amid Pride Night controversy
LA Dodgers will relaunch its Christian Faith and Family Day on July 30th against Cincinnati Reds. This comes after rescinding the invitation extended to the "queer and trans nuns" group of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Kershaw and Roberts have shared their personal testimonials in previous years.
The New American: Coming to a Street Corner Near You: Youth Arrested for Handing Out Bibles - The New American
17-year-old Josh Alexander was arrested in Calgary for handing out Bibles at a student rally supporting a high school student's defiance of the woke agenda. Alexander is a strong believer in Jesus Christ and has repeatedly defied the authorities in the name of Christ. He has spoken out against St. Joseph’s High School in Renfrew, Ontario, and its policy on allowing biological males to enter girls' washrooms, and when he organised a student walkout to protest, the school suspended him from school and issued him with a trespass notice. Alexander has a history of standing up for his faith, and his attorney claims the school officials redefined bullying to fit their narrative.

The drug Ozempic, used to treat diabetes and aid in weight loss, has gained popularity among celebrities. However, some users have reported experiencing embarrassing side effects such as diarrhea and constipation. While reports on social media may be overblown, doctors warn that all medications can have side effects that should be monitored by patients and physicians.

Breitbart: Four Killed in Rare Shooting and Stabbing Rampage in Japan
Police in Nakano, Japan, apprehended Aoki Masanori, the suspect of a shooting and stabbing rampage killing four people, including two police officers. Masanori, son of Nakano Assembly Speaker Aoki Masamichi, stabbed a woman before fatally shooting two police officers and killing an older woman. Japan has one of the lowest gun crime rates in the world and strict gun ownership laws.
Newsbusters: Safety-Obsessed NPR Suddenly Ditches Precaution on Cops, Fentanyl Exposure
National Public Radio dismisses police concerns over the health risks of fentanyl exposure, calling it “misinformation” spread by the cops. NPR addiction correspondent, Brian Mann, tries to prove cops wrong via “experts” and anecdotal evidence. Despite police officers' scary personal experience in the field, “many experts” think they are merely experiencing anxiety or panic attacks. The easy dismissal of the concerns of police officers under distress is striking, particularly coming from NPR, where the precautionary principle is always turned up to 11. The experts say that fentanyl may not be a health hazard for skin contact or accidental inhalation. The hard cynicism towards cops' concerns approaches mockery and goes against NPR's previous reporting on race-based shows that were not pro-law and order.
Breitbart: FBI Uncovers 1983 Plot to to Assassinate Queen Elizabeth II in California
FBI files reveal potential plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II during 1983 visit to California. A man claimed he would attempt harm the Queen by dropping an object off the Golden Gate Bridge onto the royal yacht when it sailed underneath. The FBI was unaware of any specific threats against the Queen, but the possibility of threats against the British monarchy was ever-present from the IRA. In 1970, a suspected IRA sympathizer unsuccessfully tried to derail her train west of Sydney. In 1981, the IRA attempted to bomb her on a visit to Shetland. A mentally disturbed teenager fired a single shot towards the Queen's car during a visit to New Zealand. Also in 1981, another teenager fired six blanks at her during her Trooping the Colour birthday parade in central London. In 1982, Michael Fagan managed to get into the Queen's bedroom and spent ten minutes there before she raised the alarm.
The Epoch Times: Democrat Congresswoman Went to Jeffrey Epstein's Home
U.S. congresswoman Stacey Plaskett visited Jeffrey Epstein in his townhouse in 2018 and spoke to him about politics and campaign contributions while requesting a donation of around $30,000 for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The donation was rejected as Epstein had not passed the DCCC's vetting process. Plaskett's deposition was taken by JPMorgan Chase as part of a civil case against the bank, who is accused of "knowingly benefitting from participating in a sex-trafficking venture." JPMorgan alleges that Plaskett and other Virgin Island officials "actively facilitated" Epstein's crimes. Epstein was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution and charged with child sex trafficking in 2019, before dying in prison under mysterious circumstances.

PJ Media: Weekend Parting Shot: Female Dem Pollster Says She Would Be ’Fine' Boxing a Transwoman
Democrat pollster Elizabeth Spiers argued on Twitter that there is no issue with biological men competing in women’s sports. During a heated exchange with a user on the social media site, another user offered $10k to the charity of Spiers’ choice if she was willing to step into the ring with a transwoman. She refused the offer but continued to argue that the women’s sports issue was a vehicle for transphobia, rather than an issue of sports fairness. The conversation quickly went viral on Twitter, with various users expressing their opinions, including comparing male and female performance, both in training and physical capacity.
Daily Wire: ‘Prioritizing Fairness’: Riley Gaines Praises Cycling Group For Ban On Males Competing In Female Category
British Cycling bans men from competing in women's category to prioritize fairness in sports. The current men's category will become an "open" category to allow trans-identifying male cyclists to compete against other men, while the female category is solely for those who were born female to safeguard the fairness of competition. The new policy is the result of a nine-month review process and comes after the controversy surrounding transgender male cyclist Austin Killips winning the Tour of the Gila.
