Breitbart: 606k : Net Migration Surges to Fresh Record, Again Demolishing Tory Lies
606k : Net Migration Surges to Fresh Record, Again Demolishing Tory Lies
Net migration to the UK has reached a new record high of 606,000 in 2022, according to the Office for National Statistics. The figure comprises the difference between 1.2 million long-term arrivals and 557,000 people who emigrated in the year to December. Most people arriving were non-EU nationals, followed by EU and British citizens. Immigration reduction campaigners have described the government's claim to be controlling immigration as "laughable". The rise in arrivals from outside the EU and elsewhere, including those from Ukraine and Hong Kong, highlights the Conservative Party's failure to meet promises to cut immigration, including those made during the Brexit campaign.

European Commission Admits to Handing Millions to 'Far-Left' NGOs
The European Commission has admitted to funding various far-left NGOs with millions in taxpayers' euros leading to accusations of the EU funding a left-wing echo chamber in Brussels. The admission came in response to a question signed by several MEPs, revealing that the EU hands millions in funding to a wide variety of left-wing groups, and that the bloc has not held meetings with certain organizations despite multi-million payouts. Some politicians describe the organizations as often being "situated on the far left" and as including "radical activists."

Red State: Details on IRS Effort Against Matt Taibbi 'Raise More Questions Than They Answer'
Details on IRS Effort Against Matt Taibbi 'Raise More Questions Than They Answer'
Journalist Matt Taibbi faced a strange IRS examination into his tax return starting on 24th December 2022, three years after his alleged last letter, the same day he appeared before Congress. He'd published the first Twitter Files about government abuses, revealing it coordinated to censor and coerce speech on social media. Taibbi and his accountant never got the "purported letters," constructing the appearance of some political motivation or an attempt to intimidate future journalists looking at such material.

The IRS claimed they were looking into Taibbi’s 2018 tax return to ensure no identity fraud, yet there was none, and he was even entitled to a substantial refund. Jordan, House Judiciary Committee Chair, demanded more records and communications by June 7th. The IRS had no reason to open a tax examination without Taibbi owing taxes. It appears Taibbi was the victim of possible intimidation by bad actors trying to suppress news and free speech ahead of Taibbi's scheduled appearance before Congress. It suggests a deeper problem within government agencies to manipulate journalists.

Dem Rep. Goldman: 'It's Very Clear' Trump Documents Investigation Coming to a Head
Rep. Daniel Goldman suggests special counsel Jack Smith is concluding his investigation into whether Donald Trump mishandled classified documents. Trump's lawyers sent a letter thought to be a compelled response, rather than an effective defense. Goldman argues Trump is scared of being indicted and does not want to end up in a courtroom where he cannot control the narrative.

IRS whistleblower goes public with accusation DOJ 'slow-walked' Hunter Biden investigation
An IRS agent has publicly accused the Justice Department of "slow-walking" its investigation into the finances of Hunter Biden, son of the US President, claiming that several steps were "completely not done" at the department's direction. Gary Shapley, an IRS whistleblower, alleged that he was assigned to a "sensitive" investigation in January 2020, becoming concerned over several months due to what he saw as a series of protective measures for the subject of the investigation; Biden. He added that the DOJ and IRS retaliated against him after he raised his concerns but that he continues to petition Congress and its investigation into the matter.

How Donald Trump’s trials and the Republican primary will intersect
Trials and tribulations surround former President Donald Trump as he seeks to run in the Republican primary for the 2024 presidential election. His legal troubles include a $5m payout for sexually assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll, pending trials for falsifying business records, and investigations into attempts to manipulate the 2020 election and his role in the January 6th insurrection. While the cases could potentially hurt Trump's candidacy, they have also fired up his supporters.

Oprah Winfrey Being Considered by Gavin Newsom as Potential Replacement for Ailing Sen. Feinstein, Report
California Governor Gavin Newsom is reportedly considering Oprah Winfrey as a potential replacement for ailing Senator Dianne Feinstein. Although Feinstein has already confirmed she will not seek re-election in 2024, discussions have started for her potential replacement should she retire before that time. If Feinstein were to retire, it would fall on Governor Newsom to select her successor, and he has previously indicated his desire to appoint a black woman. Winfrey has participated in several races across the country, but has said she does not intend to run for president.

American Thinker: DeSantis finally launches his campaign, and Trump and the MSM attack
DeSantis finally launches his campaign, and Trump and the MSM attack
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis launched his campaign for presidency on Twitter's Open Spaces audio platform, but the platform was overwhelmed for the first 20 minutes by lower-than-expected capacity, causing issues for users who were trying to access it. The mainstream media used the glitch as an opportunity to criticize and mock DeSantis’ unconventional campaign launch. Despite the issues, DeSantis’ campaign launch continued without any further hitches for over an hour. He later appeared for an interview on Fox News to discuss his campaign, making it clear that he plans to focus on immigration and holding China accountable for their actions.

Fox News: America is getting older faster as residents have less children, according to US census
America is getting older faster as residents have less children, according to US census
The U.S. census shows that the U.S. has grown older in the last decade. The number of people over 65 has increased by a third, while fewer children were born. The shift results from baby boomers turning 65, millennials aging, and women delaying childbirth to focus on education and career. The median age in the United States increased from 37.2 to 38.8 over the decade. Experts note that the aging population could have critical social and economic impacts. The dependency ratio, for example, increased for seniors by 6.8 people per 100 working-age people. In the long run, immigration is one way to avoid population decline.

The Federalist Papers: Louisiana State Senator Joins Democrats in Blocking Transgender Surgery Ban on Children
Louisiana State Senator Joins Democrats in Blocking Transgender Surgery Ban on Children
Louisiana State Senator Fred Mills joined Democrats in a 5-4 vote to halt a bill that aimed to prohibit transgender surgeries on children. The bill had previously passed in the House. The “Stop Harming Our Kids Act” aimed to ban medical interventions that altered a minor’s appearance to align with their gender identity if it contradicted their biological sex. The bill was meant to safeguard children in Louisiana who experience gender dysphoria from unproven and irreversible medical interventions.

Republican Representative Gabe Firment opposed the bill, stressing the need for compassionate mental health care, counseling, and ethical medical practices. Firment expressed concern that regulating medical professionals was necessary to ensure ethical practices regarding transgender procedures. Meanwhile, Senator Mills faced criticism from some conservatives for accepting campaign donations from pharmaceutical groups. Mills defended his decision to vote against the bill, citing his belief in the decision-making authority of patients and physicians.

The Economist: The push to bring insulin prices down in America
The push to bring insulin prices down in America
The high cost of insulin is a major grievance for Americans. Despite recent attempts to make insulin more affordable, some patients are still unable to access the cheaper prices due to complicated schemes and poorly implemented programs. Some states have taken matters into their own hands by setting price caps and signing contracts with manufacturers to make and distribute insulin at a lower cost.

The Economist: Vasectomies rose by 29% in the three months after the end of Roe
Vasectomies rose by 29% in the three months after the end of Roe
The number of vasectomies increased in the US after the Supreme Court allowed states to ban abortion in the Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organisation case, with vasectomy rates 29% higher in the three months after the ruling. The rise in procedures was greater in states with “trigger bans”, where access to abortion was limited, with vasectomy rates increasing by over 40% in six states including Arizona, Florida and Texas. Patients motivated by the Dobbs ruling cited one of three reasons for opting for the procedure: a lack of alternative contraception options; a fear that vasectomies could be banned too; and solidarity with women.

Reds, Rockies Can’t Score Despite Massive Home Field Run Inflation
The Rockies and Reds are struggling, despite playing in the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the game. Both teams have poor offensive numbers, despite the advantage their home parks give them. Batters perform significantly better in both Coors Field and Great American Ballpark than they do in other parks, but pitchers from both teams have been unable to take advantage of this. The Reds have some high-impact prospects on the cusp of the majors, while the Rockies lack high-impact talent and competent management. Their inability to capitalize on favorable park factors is historic.
