The Epoch Times: 'He's Not Impartial': Poilievre Says He Won't Meet With Johnston as Interference Probe Continues
'He's Not Impartial': Poilievre Says He Won't Meet With Johnston as Interference Probe Continues
Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre is refusing to meet with David Johnston, a special rapporteur investigating foreign interference in Canadian federal elections, due to his perceived lack of impartiality. Johnston was appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to investigate accusations of interference by the Chinese regime in the 2019 and 2021 campaigns. Poilievre cited Johnston’s previous position in the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation and close relationship with the Trudeau family as reasons for his refusal to meet. Johnston’s first report was released on May 23, prompting calls for a public inquiry on foreign interference to be held.

The Epoch Times: DeSantis's Team Seeks to Turn Twitter Launch Lemons Into Lemonade
DeSantis's Team Seeks to Turn Twitter Launch Lemons Into Lemonade
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis experienced a Twitter Spaces glitch-ridden announcement on May 24, breaking the Internet and leading to several stoppages and a delay. His campaign, however, remained positive, selling T-shirts that read "Our Campaign Launch Broke The Internet!" The campaign said that in 15 hours, his videos received 30 million views, and the campaign raised $8.2 million within 24 hours. The National Review viewed the breakdown with a cooler eye and said the moment may not prove a defining one; other conservative media analysts saw it as a blow to Fox News and a signal that DeSantis bypassed the network to send a message to conservatives.

Spectator USA: Is America a republic in name only?
Is America a republic in name only?
The United States may look like a one-party state beyond the labels of Democratic and Republican candidates. Tucker Carlson has highlighted that conservatives are allowed to take office but not allowed to take power. The political situation in the US has gone beyond a semi-decorous strictness, potentially due to historic prosperity breeding personal ambition.

Breitbart: French Government Told to Implement Wealth Tax to Fight Climate Change
French Government Told to Implement Wealth Tax to Fight Climate Change
A report submitted to the French government recommends implementing a wealth tax on the country's top 10% for climate change. A 5% tax could generate up to €5bn annually for net-zero efforts. Those hit would pay the tax in one go, over several years, or add it to inheritance tax. The suggested tax is portrayed as on the super-wealthy but could impact the upper-middle class. Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has decried the plan, stating that it is "unreasonable" and France already has one of the highest tax burdens of all developed countries. Government spokesman Olivier Véran also commented that it was not necessary.

The Federalist Papers: Leaked Target Memo Reveals Retail Giant Has Learned Nothing from $9B LGBT Protest Losses - Report
Leaked Target Memo Reveals Retail Giant Has Learned Nothing from $9B LGBT Protest Losses - Report
Target is facing backlash for selling “tuck friendly” and “binding clothing” made for children and items made by a Satanic artist. The company has lost more than $9 billion in market value in one week but seems to be leaning into woke leftist causes. Target's leaked memo offered employees support for the anniversary of George Floyd’s death but didn't mention the damage resulting from ensuing riots that forced Target to temporarily close stores. Target's unwavering loyalty to the woke left, even as it inflicts reputational and financial harm, has all the earmarks of an abusive relationship.

Leftist Panic: Facebook Workers Are Inventing Tasks to Seem Busy as Zuckerberg Keeps Cutting Staff
Facebook’s recent layoffs at its business division have left remaining staff feeling anxious and confused, leading some to create their own tasks or avoid work altogether. The downsizing initiative is the third and final phase, affecting 21,000 workers in total. CEO Mark Zuckerberg declared a “Year of Efficiency” in November, leading to the dismissal of 13% of the company’s workforce. Despite Zuckerberg revealing the business divisions that would experience layoffs weeks before, employees reportedly felt anxious and uninspired after the announcement. The layoffs have also caused vital planning and work to pause. Venture capitalist Keith Rabois blasted Facebook for employing too many people, calling their work “fake.” The firm has also faced criticism after awarding executives bonuses totaling up to $940,000 during a turbulent year.

Wordle is an online word-guessing game that challenges players to decipher a 5-letter mystery word within a limited number of attempts. The game provides feedback with each guess, guiding players to uncover the correct letters and their respective positions in the target word.

The word "swine" comes from Old English "swīn," which referred to a pig or a hog. The term can be traced back to the Proto-Germanic word "*swīnan," meaning "swine" or "pig." Despite its centuries-old history, the meaning of "swine" has remained relatively unchanged, referring to domesticated pigs.

Goliath Vs. Goliath: Venture Capital Titan Vinod Khosla Takes on Apple Alleging Theft of Health Tech
Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla and his company Khosla Ventures are backing AliveCor, a heart-monitoring technology start-up, as it takes on Apple in a legal dispute. AliveCor alleges that Apple stole its heart-monitoring technology and impeded its ability to offer services on the popular Apple Watch platform. “I think it’s really important that they not bully people and so we decided to make it a public battle,” Khosla said of Apple. The dispute began in 2015, when David Albert, one of AliveCor’s co-founders, agreed to showcase the KardiaBand heart monitor to Apple executives. Apple denies all charges and says it respects the intellectual property of third parties.

Elon's Blunder: SpaceX Failed to Implement FAA Program to Stop Teen from Tracking Musk's Private Jet
Elon Musk's private jet can still be tracked due to an oversight in the implementation of privacy protection offered by an FAA program. The error was discovered by Vice's Motherboard through Freedom of Information Act documents. Musk previously banned a teenager's Twitter account that tracked his private jet's flight activity and has now also banned several journalists and the @ElonJet Twitter account. Although enrolled in the FAA's Privacy ICAO Aircraft Address program, Musk's jet could still be tracked due to an incorrect temporary tail number assignment. The FAA and SpaceX have not released official statements.
