Forbes: Trump's Truth Social Faces More Trouble: SEC Calls SPAC’s Financial Statements Unreliable As Stock Faces Delisting
Regulators have warned Topline Digital Media Acquisition Corp, looking to merge with Donald Trump's Truth Social media platform, that it faces delisting from Nasdaq due to accounting errors in its last financial report and also not filing an earnings report for Q1 of 2023. The Securities and Exchange Commission found the special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) had made errors in its annual report and that it needs to develop a plan to address the "internal control over financial reporting" issue. The company has until July 24 to submit the plan or be delisted from the stock exchange.
Daily Wire: CNN To Hold Presidential Town Hall With Mike Pence
Former Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to participate in a presidential town hall moderated by Dana Bash on CNN in June. Pence, who has stated that he will decide on a potential presidential run before late June, will field questions from a live audience in Des Moines, Iowa. With early Republican presidential polling showing Donald Trump leading the pack and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis coming in second place, Pence is currently polling around 5% alongside fellow GOP candidate Nikki Haley.
The New American: It's Official: DeSantis Announces 2024 Run - The New American
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announces his 2024 presidential run with the slogan "Trump, but competent." DeSantis gained popularity for his opposition to lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also banned perverse sexual curricula in elementary schools, signed anti-ESG legislation, and banned central bank digital currency. DeSantis made his announcement in a Twitter event with Elon Musk, but technical difficulties delayed the launch and drew criticism from both President Trump and President Biden's Twitter account. A primary race between Trump and DeSantis may be in the horizon.
The Economist: Politics | May 27th 2023 Edition
Ron DeSantis launched his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, criticizing Joe Biden for being woke. Seven western American states reached an agreement to protect the Colorado River.
The Blaze: IRS whistleblower goes public, details how DOJ allegedly interfered in Hunter Biden probe: 'Way outside the norm'
An IRS whistleblower, Gary Shapley, claims that the Department of Justice (DOJ) deliberately slowed down tax probes on Hunter Biden, the son of the current US president, with lapses in IRS criminal investigations normally functioning noticeably. Shapley claims a meeting in October 2020 was his "red-line meeting," and he decided to blow the whistle, chiefly because he no longer "silenced" his conscience. A Washington Post report from almost eight months ago suggested that federal prosecutors believed they possessed enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden, but such accusations have yet to surface.
Washington Free Beacon: WATCH: IRS Whistleblower Says DOJ Intervened To Slow-Walk Hunter Probe
An IRS whistleblower claims that the Department of Justice under the Biden administration slowed down the investigation into Hunter Biden's possible tax crimes. The whistleblower, Gary Shapley, alleges that his team was taken off the probe and that there was "preferential treatment" towards the first son. A second whistleblower at the IRS has also claimed retaliation for raising issues about the investigation.

Fox News: Tacoma officials pay $3.1M to family of Black man who was shot and killed by police during a traffic stop
Tacoma officials will pay $3.1 million to the family of a Black man, Bennie Branch, who was fatally shot by police during a 2019 traffic stop in Washington. Branch had been in a car with others when an officer identified the vehicle as related to prior gun-related crimes. After a confrontation, the officer shocked Branch twice with stun guns, and Branch was then struck multiple times before being shot by officer Ryan Bradley, who was later cleared by county prosecutors. The settlement was termed "not an admission of legal liability," and city officials noted their ongoing support of the Tacoma Police Department's community trust-building efforts.
Fox News: 132 Dems vote against bill cracking down on fentanyl, cite ‘inequities’ in criminal justice system
The House passed a bill that would permanently classify all fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs subject to federal prison terms and penalties. Most Democrats opposed the Halt All Lethal Trafficking of Fentanyl Act, arguing that minorities would be unfairly targeted and that community-based solutions are needed to tackle the fentanyl crisis. Republicans pushed for tough penalties against FRS due to the rising number of fentanyl-related deaths. The bill now moves to the Senate with potential for stalling.
Fox News: Biden admin hired former leader of anti-Catholic group at center of LA Dodgers Pride Night controversy
Former Biden official Sam Brinton led the D.C. chapter of the anti-Catholic group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence which was invited and uninvited to a "Pride Night" hosted by the Los Angeles Dodgers. The group is part of the San Francisco-based drag queen group which regularly mocks the Catholic Church. Brinton, who used to go by the name Sister Ray Dee O’Active, also attended an Easter gathering hosted by the national organization in San Francisco in 2019. The official has been charged with multiple airport thefts.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have re-invited the anti-Catholic group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to its June 16 Pride Night in response to criticism from Catholics, after initially uninviting them. Meanwhile, former Biden official Sam Brinton, who led the D.C. chapter of the group and has been charged with multiple airport thefts, regularly hosted group events including "bar ministry" gatherings, drag brunches, White House protests and at least one "high heel race". Brinton also attended an Easter gathering hosted by the national organization in San Francisco in 2019.
PJ Media: A Different Kind of Irrational Fear
Leftists often accuse those who do not fully embrace the LGBTQ movement of being afraid of gay and transgender people, labeling it as "phobia." However, concerns over the grooming of children, gender theory in schools, and cultural shifts should not be labeled as phobias, as they are based on rational concerns. Major corporations and cultural influencers seek approval from the LGBTQ advocacy organizations while bowing down to their demands, which ultimately leads to fear of being canceled in any way. In reality, those who seek the approval of the LGBTQ mob are the ones walking in irrational terror.
Spectator USA: The Karens of Uber get their DEI chief suspended
The term "Karen" describes an entitled middle-aged woman who demands exceptional treatment and unearned privilege in life. Karens can be found across the political spectrum and have been captured in numerous embarrassing social situations on social media. Despite criticism that it has become a political slur against conservative women, Karenhood is not limited to political affiliation. Karens are generally assumed to be white women, although there have been exceptions, and the term has been applied equally to pro-life and pro-choice individuals and those on both sides of Covid-19 debates.
Bo Young Lee, Uber's diversity chief, learned that not all aspects of diversity are treated equally during a recent Zoom call titled "Don't Call Me Karen." After attracting criticism from Uber employees of color, Lee attempted to address their concerns but ended up being accused of "tone-deaf, offensive and triggering" behavior. Lee held a second Zoom call that only resulted in her being asked to step down by Uber's CEO and chief people officer. Her crime was proposing that white women experience discrimination and prejudice. Lee's misfortune serves to highlight the rigid attitudes of the diversity, equity, and inclusion syndicate, which dictates that all white people are inherently racist, that non-whites are incapable of racism, and that anyone who disagrees needs to be purged.

Daily Wire: ‘We Don’t Have Penises Down South In Rio’: Megyn Kelly Rips Target’s ‘Tuck-Friendly’ Swimsuit
Megyn Kelly criticized Target for selling women's bathing suits with extra material around the crotch to make them "tuck-friendly" for men's genitals. Kelly condemned Target's decision to partner with Abprallen, a clothing manufacturer she referred to as having a "pro-Satan line of clothing," in their Pride collection. Target CEO Brian Cornell defended the decision, stating that inclusivity and diversity are good business decisions and the right thing for society. The Abprallen website features a skeleton draped in rainbow colors, a "Trans Witches For Abortion" badge, and a "Satan respects pronouns" T-shirt.

Inflation in the UK fell less than expected, with food prices up by 19.1%. Germany is now technically in a recession. The EU slapped a €1.2bn fine on Meta, the owner of Facebook, for breaching rules on the transfer of personal data from the EU to America. China has banned American company Micron's memory chips, which it said "posed significant security risks," and TikTok sued Montana for banning the social media app, calling it unconstitutional. Apple announced an agreement outsourcing 5G components from American maker of semiconductors, Broadcom. China also overtook Japan as the world's biggest exporter of cars in Q1, exporting more than 1 million vehicles.
National Review: The Corner: Why Are Republicans Winning the Debt-Ceiling Fight? Inflation
As negotiations between congressional Republicans and the White House over the national debt-ceiling limit continue, a surprising number of Americans are siding with the GOP's position that raises be paired with spending cuts, including a majority of self-described Republicans and independents. A CNN/SSRS survey found that Democrats are split on the issue, with 46 percent supporting an unconditional raise but 45 percent also wanting spending cuts. A survey by Fox News Channel produced similar findings, with 57 percent of registered voters believing Congress should only raise the debt limit if that is paired with spending cuts.
The public's shift in support for spending fights in Congress, which traditionally blamed the Republicans over the Democrats, can be traced to inflation which Americans now feel in their wallets. In response to rising prices and the perception that the government needs to be more fiscally responsible, nearly 70 percent of Americans are delaying non-essential purchases, with 90 percent having changed their consumption habits. A Gallup poll shows that 61 percent of respondents view rising prices as a hardship and the high cost of living is the number one financial concern. The public is now willing to try reining in Washington's spending.

The Epoch Times: Fundraiser to Save Historic, Deconsecrated Nova Scotia Church Falling Short of Goal
A fundraising campaign to preserve a historic Acadian church in Nova Scotia has raised only a fraction of the funds needed. Nation Prospère Acadie aims to buy the Saint Bernard Church from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth and make necessary repairs and upgrades. So far, $116,000 has been donated towards the $2.5 million goal, and the group will continue to seek donations from government officials and potential donors to prevent the landmark from being demolished. The slow pace of fundraising is due to the challenges of raising money for religious landmarks, particularly in communities with few trusts or foundations dedicated to historic preservation, according to the chairman of Nation Prospère Acadie.
Spectator USA: Aaron Sorkin’s new Camelot has nothing to say
Camelot revival with new book by Aaron Sorkin and director Bartlett Sher lacks direction. The adaptation from T.H. White’s novel fails to decide whether it is a frivolous comedy, lovelorn tragedy or study in good governance. The musical aims to explore the creation of the Round Table, an assembly defined by loyalty, justice and fairness, but it falls short and lacks the emotional weight and consequence of the story’s themes, making it a bland experience.

Forbes: How Loot Boxes In Children’s Video Games Encourage Gambling
Children as young as 10 may begin gambling, with 80% of adolescents reporting gambling in the past year. Loot boxes, which are common in many video games, encourage "gambling-like" behavior and use tactics that can lead to addictive consumer spending. The video gaming industry generated up to $30 billion from loot boxes in 2018, with a small number of gamers called “whales” generating over 90% of this revenue. Loot box purchases significantly increase the odds of problem gambling later in life, and parents must monitor spending in games, watch for problem gambling behavior, and be aware of addiction resources.
The Epoch Times: IN-DEPTH: Patients Struggling to Shed ADHD Label
The number of adults seeking a diagnosis of ADHD has risen sharply in recent years, leading to concerns about the rise, accessibility, and unreliability of diagnoses in the UK. Patients who seek removal of the lifelong ADHD label may face challenges as the diagnostic process typically involves multiple assessments. In addition, individuals with ongoing ADHD face limitations in certain careers and legal requirements such as informing the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency if they hold or are applying for a driving license. Despite this, concerns have been raised that the achievement of a diagnosis can become an alternative to personal growth and characterological development, and that the neurodiversity movement may be disempowering.

Mahomes is more focused on winning rings and building his legacy, stating that he will never do anything that will hurt the team from keeping great players around him. He signed a 10-year extension worth $450 million in 2020, becoming the highest-paid player in NFL history. However, multiple quarterbacks have passed him in terms of annual salary, but Mahomes says he is not driven to be the game's highest-paid QB.

Boating Mag: Suzuki Marine Makes Run to the Capitol Using New EcoFuel
A boat powered by twin Suzuki DF140 outboards traveled over 940 miles from Florida to Washington, DC, using VP Racing's new EcoGen90 sustainable marine fuel. The Suzuki Marine EcoFuel Run to the Capitol aimed to promote the availability of environmentally friendly fuels to the government and the boating industry. The journey was a success, with faultless performance and impressive fuel economy, traversing calm and rough waters and the Intracoastal Waterway. The two outboards were also outfitted with Suzuki's Micro Plastic Collecting Device, which collected and sent micro plastic pollution to Suzuki in Japan for review and analysis.
Suzuki Marine undertook this journey in support of the National Marine Manufacturers Association's initiative to educate industry stakeholders and policymakers about alternative marine fuels. These fuels are formulated with renewable content and produce fewer emissions while enhancing performance and reliability. Approximately 12 million gasoline-powered boats in the US suggest that new fuels offer a chance for boaters and the marine industry to reduce their environmental footprint. The company is committed to spearheading grass roots efforts to clean up coastlines through its CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT initiative, reducing plastics across its business, and removal of micro-plastic pollution from waters.

Newsbusters: YIKES: Twitter Files Show Platform Let Foreign Gov’t Dictate Who to Censor
New "Twitter Files Extra" reveal how Australia's Department of Home Affairs (DHA) targeted online users living outside Australia for censorship during COVID-19 lockdowns. The DHA requested that Twitter remove 222 tweets, including jokes and true information, from non-Australian users deemed to be "circulating a claim in Australia's digital information environment." Some tweets slated for censorship were later found to be true or at least contested, including a U.K. doctor's claim that the SARS-Cov2 PCR test is flawed and man-made. The DHA claimed the information was "potentially harmful" and contradicted official government advice while trying to silence voices critical of the lockdowns.
The DHA even complained about tweets that merely replied to memes or claimed that the government used emotionally manipulative language. Twitter's willingness to bow to a foreign government's attempt to silence free speech raises concerns about the platform's independence and commitment to freedom of expression. Conservative voices are calling for Big Tech to be held accountable and to provide transparency and equal footing for conservative viewpoints.
