The Federalist Papers: Mom Whose Daughter Was Allegedly Killed by MS-13 Gang Member Has a Brutal Message for Joe Biden
Mom Whose Daughter Was Allegedly Killed by MS-13 Gang Member Has a Brutal Message for Joe Biden
An angry mother is set to testify before Congress about the situation at the southern border, after losing her 20-year-old autistic daughter to an illegal immigrant allegedly connected to the MS-13 gang. She demands stricter border controls and background checks. The situation at the border has only worsened under the Biden administration, with any resemblance of law and order collapsing. This lawlessness has become the new normal, resulting from Biden's border policies and soft-on-crime policies in major cities. The American people are vulnerable to the danger presented by drug cartels and criminals taking advantage of the law, thereby necessitating stricter measures to secure the border and protect citizens.

Foreign Policy: Thailand’s Military Has No Good Options
Thailand’s Military Has No Good Options
The progressive Move Forward Party won a surprising victory over the populist Pheu Thai Party in Thailand's parliamentary elections, taking 152 seats to Pheu Thai’s 141. Move Forward, which gained momentum with Thailand's young voters, hopes to make its reform-minded leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, the next prime minister. The party's plan for its first year in power pledges to rewrite the military-drafted 2017 constitution, reopen investigations into the deadly military crackdown against pro-democracy protesters in 2010, and amend Thailand's strict lèse-majesté laws. Move Forward's victory is a nightmare for Thailand's conservative establishment, which centers around the politically meddlesome military and the country's monarchy, but the party is facing a challenge trying to get into power without upsetting its passionate base.

NPR Hooks up With Minnesota AG Keith Ellison to Race Hustle, Discuss Ending 'Police Violence
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is releasing a book called "Break the Wheel: Ending the Cycle of Police Violence," which details the process of building a case against the former officers who killed George Floyd. Ellison cried when watching the video of Floyd’s murder, which was captured on camera and led to protests worldwide. The book is out on Tuesday and Ellison hopes it will provide insight into how to prevent similar violence in the future. However, some critics argue that Ellison focuses too much on police violence and doesn't address other types of crime in urban America.

The Epoch Times: Election Watchdog Group Settles Drop Box Lawsuit in Arizona
Election Watchdog Group Settles Drop Box Lawsuit in Arizona
The League of Women Voters of Arizona and Melody Jennings recently settled their lawsuit over ballot drop box monitoring, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to freedom of expression and assembly and their disapproval of voter intimidation. The case initially involved groups such as Lions of Liberty and Yavapai Preparedness Team, who were watching drop boxes, but soon agreed to stop and were dismissed from the case. The film "2,000 Mules," which inspired Jennings' monitoring efforts, had claimed to show "mules" illegally carrying multiple ballots to multiple drop boxes in the 2020 election, but has been called a "debunked conspiracy theory" by the League of Women Voters.

The League of Women Voters of Arizona is a nonpartisan organization focusing on issues such as voter education, advocacy, and left-leaning issues such as national health insurance, pro-abortion policies, and climate-smart agriculture. The group calls for Congress to protect spending on conservation initiatives that encourage farmers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Jennings' case involved monitoring ballot drop boxes with armed citizens, an action which the League of Women Voters called voter intimidation. True the Vote provided financial support for Jennings' legal defense and stood by the accuracy of the findings shown in "2,000 Mules," but the League called the film a "dangerous conspiracy theory."

PolitiFact Goes To Bat For Gender Ideology: 'Gender Is Different'
PolitiFact argues that gender dysphoria is not a mental illness, but an emotional response to being transgender; all the experts they talked to agreed. They suggest gender-affirming care is necessary for insurance purposes, and removing gender dysphoria from the manual would put access to that care in jeopardy. They also dismiss the idea of "rapid-onset gender dysphoria" and argue that children know best about their gender identity.

Opinion: Johnston's Report on Election Interference Is Gaslighting Canadians
Former Governor General David Johnston has released a report on China's alleged interference in federal elections. The report recommends against a public inquiry but highlights flaws in how intelligence is distributed within the government. Johnston exonerated Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's team but laid blame on the intelligence services and opposition party's partisan misuse of the issue. The report has been criticized for undermining the work of intelligence agencies and spreading unfounded accusations against individuals who leaked classified information. Overall, the report is seen as a waste of time and money that fails to defend Canadian democracy.

Economists forecast GDP growth of 1.2% for 2019, with more than half of them expecting the US to suffer a recession in the next year. While respondents are split over whether a recession is likely, they suggest the rate of economic growth is most likely to be modest until 2024.

The Epoch Times: Report Calls for Drivers to Be Taxed on a Per-Mile Basis
Report Calls for Drivers to Be Taxed on a Per-Mile Basis
UK think tank the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) has proposed that motorists be charged for the miles they drive, replacing fuel duty and vehicle excise duty, which are forecast to create a £25bn fiscal black hole as petrol and diesel cars are phased out. Initially, the charges would only apply to electric vehicles but would later be extended to all vehicles. The CPS said its per-mile charge would provide an economic incentive to switch to lower-emission transport, but EV users would pay less than petrol or diesel drivers. The scheme would not be location-based and would be funded by a monthly direct debit.

Forbes: UK Researchers Found eVTOL Propeller Noise Will Be Higher Than Expected
UK Researchers Found eVTOL Propeller Noise Will Be Higher Than Expected
Researchers from the University of Bristol in the UK have found that electric Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is not as “quiet” as touted, with propellers in Ground Effect (where the airflow around an airfoil changes when near the surface) showing a substantial increase in broadband noise levels. For UAM operations within urban areas to become practical, engineers will have to tackle the issue of sound pollution generated by their propellers. Implementing strategies to reduce the noise of aircraft while taking off or landing will take time and money. The research findings will be of continued interest and are yet another reminder that real-world results differ from technology claims.

The Air Force, through its AFWERX innovation arm, is evaluating eVTOL aircraft as part of its Agility Prime program which seeks to accelerate the commercial market for advanced air mobility vehicles. An AFWERX release noted that Joby, a producer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, delivered eVTOL demonstration vehicles for advanced noise performance testing to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida in 2020. The University of Bristol Aeroacoustics research team's findings will certainly be of interest to the Air Force and other government partners involved in the Agility Prime program which seeks to curate a commercial ecosystem of “disruptive agility in aerospace” in a similar way that the first aviation ecosystem flourished over the last century.

Paul D. Thacker: Twitter’s Secret Meetings and How Certain Journalists and Officials Gained ‘Exclusive Access’ to the Social Media Giant
Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter has severed ties between the platform and privileged journalists with exclusive access, according to investigative reporter Paul D. Thacker. Thacker exposed relationships between Twitter staff, journalists, pharmaceutical firms and government officials with national implications for the First Amendment. Social media companies, reportedly receiving hundreds of millions in advertising revenue from big pharma during the pandemic, were under increasing pressure to censor “true content” about COVID-19 genetic vaccines. Thacker said officials “didn’t care” if content was accurate but were worried it might affect vaccine public perception.

Black Wolf app offers armed ride-share drivers amid Atlanta crime surge, sees 'great response'
Former private investigator Kerry KingBrown has launched an exclusive ride-sharing app called "Black Wolf" that offers armed drivers for customers. The Atlanta-based application provides armed and unarmed drivers, as well as shuttle bus drivers for school children. The service is designed for corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, celebrities, women, and anyone who wants to feel safe while travelling. The app has already had around 80,000 downloads in its first week, and KingBrown said people from around the world have contacted him to inquire about the service.

KingBrown only recruits former military, law enforcement, and security field professionals to work for the company. He noted that most of the company's employees were retired New York City Police Department officers. The app is exclusive and aims to provide affordable protection and peace of mind to anyone who needs it. "We want to remove the stigma of … things happening in these vehicles with these riders, so that's why I created the Black Wolf app," KingBrown said. The launch of the app comes as the crime rate in the US continues to increase, with Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, Las Vegas, and Kansas City, MO, seeing the highest per capita homicide rates.

Forbes: Is Manchester City And Pep Guardiola’s Dominance A Problem For The Premier League?
Is Manchester City And Pep Guardiola’s Dominance A Problem For The Premier League?
Manchester City's dominance in the Premier League raises a question regarding the league's unique selling point as a brand known for being the most competitive division in soccer. With City winning the title for the fifth time in six seasons, its rivals now see second place as the best they can hope for. Eddie Howe has guided Newcastle United into the Champions League this season, but they and Manchester United are far behind City. There's concern over the damage City's dominance could do to the image of English soccer.

Guardiola, Manchester City's coach, has won the league title in every season of his managerial career except for three. But something feels different about the dominance Manchester City currently enjoys. They have the greatest manager of his generation and possibly the next best player in the world in the form of Erling Haaland. It might be a long, long time until City are caught.

Fox News: CNN executive blows up at 'offensive' MSNBC contributor Jen Rubin after she roasts 'laughingstock' network
CNN executive blows up at 'offensive' MSNBC contributor Jen Rubin after she roasts 'laughingstock' network
A CNN executive has condemned Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin's op-ed that called the network a "laughing stock and a ratings loser" claiming it was "reckless and offensive." Rubin attacked the newly branded CNN under Chris Licht's CEO leadership as uncommitted to "real" journalism. CNN head of strategic communications, Matt Dornic, called Rubin's comments "shameful" and cited the network's 30% increase in traditional news packages from correspondents over the past year.

Rubin further suggested in her piece that Christiane Amanpour, who spoke out against CNN's handling of the Trump town hall, would be a better fit to helm the network and criticized Licht's "alleged encouragement of Trump to 'have fun.'" Dornic's rebuttal did not address Rubin's suggestion, but he pointed out that an MSNBC contributor, Rubin, "ought not to throw stones" regarding panelists and the hiring of former White House aides.

The Epoch Times: What You Need to Know About Social Security If a Loved One Dies
What You Need to Know About Social Security If a Loved One Dies
A new article in Forbes is giving readers advice about what happens to Social Security benefits when a loved one dies. The article explains that, according to Social Security, if someone dies, that month's Social Security benefit needs to be returned, but it is likely that the deceased person's bank will intercept the payment and return it to the government before it ever hits the deceased's checking account. However, there can be a little twist to this scenario. For example, if a person dies just before their Social Security check is deposited into their bank account, then the June benefit would become due to the widow or to the estate and it needs to be returned to the Social Security Administration so it can be reissued to the widow or to the estate. The article gives several other examples of what happens to Social Security benefits after the death of a loved one, as well as how to take care of Social Security matters in an estate planning context.
