Fox News: Karl Rove predicts polls tighten between Trump, DeSantis as Florida governor enters: 'Seen front-runners fade'
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announces his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential primary on Twitter, making him the biggest contender for the nomination next to former President Donald Trump. He faces the challenge of appealing to Republican voters and Trump supporters, while also highlighting his points of difference in order to make the case that he is the better bet for the party's future. However, an average of polls shows Trump holding a commanding lead over the rest of the 2024 field.
Republican strategist Karl Rove believes that polls will tighten once voters find out more about other candidates and that DeSantis has a chance to attract voters that are dissatisfied with the age of the presidential candidates. Rove also noted the trend of front-runners fading when voters become familiar with the other candidates in the race. DeSantis will officially announce his candidacy during a conversation with Elon Musk on Twitter.
Washington Free Beacon: Senate Finance Committee Dems Said They'd Fight Dark Money. They Just Fawned Over a Liberal Dark Money Operative.
Democratic members of the Senate Finance Committee, who vowed to fight "dark money" groups, recently invited BlueGreen Alliance's legislative director, Katie Harris, to testify on President Biden's signature spending bill, which allocates hundreds of billions of dollars to combat climate change. BlueGreen Alliance is a political nonprofit that does not disclose its donors and is a known partner of Democracy Alliance, a shadowy network of liberal millionaires and billionaires that funds left-wing groups and liberal candidates. Despite past statements condemning dark money groups, Senate Finance Committee Democrats praised Harris and BlueGreen Alliance during the hearing.
Fox News: For DeSantis to be president, he must convince voters he can finish what Trump started without the chaos
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to announce his presidential bid this Wednesday. DeSantis won his re-election by a sizable margin, but he faces a challenge introducing himself to voters in the early primary states. He also needs to overcome former president Donald Trump's large lead in the polls among GOP voters.
American Thinker: Leftist Cancellation is the New Rite of Passage
Conservatives who are cancelled by the Left can respond in one of three ways. They may lose their job or relevancy, apologize and suffer further cancellation, or emerge stronger than ever by refusing to apologize. Cancellation has become a rite of passage for many on the Right, with the scars of cancellation legitimizing their commitment to the truth. These cancellations have led to the emergence of new media platforms such as Substack, Locals, and Rumble, providing opportunities for those who have been cancelled by the Left to have a new public life, free from restriction.
In response to the Left's cancellation movement, conservatives are building an entire economy that supports fresh voices unafraid to challenge leftist ideology. These include Substack, Locals, Rumble, and The Daily Wire. The trend continues as Americans reject left-wing attempts to silence those who don't toe the line. It appears that every time the Left tries to cancel someone, it drives more Americans away from traditional media platforms, and they actively seek out alternatives. Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter in 2022 tapped into this trend.

American Thinker: Our Human Rights Wasteland
The U.S. State Department's annual report on human rights is a catalog of "allegations" and "reports" of violations of rights that are not fundamental, leaving no distinction between liberty and social-engineering agenda. The report lists as many inequities as possible, not highlighting the most significant, as its goal is volume, not substance. The report seems to be dedicated to wherever the light of media shines.

Fox News: AOC warns that debt ceiling fight may bring ‘chaos’: ‘It's reckless, it's irresponsible’
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warns of chaos and immediate impact on people's lives if debt ceiling is not raised, calling for Republicans to agree to raise it as a non-partisan issue. President Joe Biden has warned Republicans that the White House is still "dug in" on raising taxes and increasing spending, and has threatened to use the 14th Amendment to unilaterally increase the limit without Congress. Republicans, on the other hand, are in favor of passing the Limit, Save, Grow Act, which would increase the federal borrowing limit by $1.5 trillion while reducing spending by roughly $150 billion from this year to the next.
Forbes: Gambling Resort To Push Ras Al-Khaimah Budget Into Deficit, Warns Fitch
Wynn Resorts is developing the first casino resort in the United Arab Emirates, which is expected to cost $3.9bn and lead to a fiscal deficit for host government Ras Al-Khaimah. The project began construction earlier this year and is due to open in 2027. The venture assumes that RAK Hospitality and Al-Majran Island hold a majority stake with Wynn Resorts. Over the shorter term, Fitch expects Ras Al-Khaimah’s budget deficits, combined with debt repayments by state-owned enterprises, to reduce public-sector deposits from 12.9% of GDP in December 2022 to 11% by the end of 2024.

Heming Willis said that informing herself about her father's disease is the most loving and compassionate thing that her daughter could do. Willis has since stepped away from acting following his diagnosis, but Heming Willis is adding to her “dementia care toolbox” to support him and ensure that he has everything he needs.

American Thinker: The Left’s Systematic Slandering of the Police
Democrats and leftist activists have been calling to defund the police after the death of George Floyd, claiming the institution is systematically racist. However, Black Harvard economist Roland Fryer found that on extreme use of force, there is no difference in police shooting statistics between races. Despite this, the Left continues to propagate the fallacy of hasty generalization. In fact, crime and homicide rates have increased around the country due to the aftermath of the Defund the Police movement, and Democratic cities like Minneapolis have seen drastic increases in murders.
The police are given an impossible job and then their every split-second decision is put under a microscope, yet most leftist activists do not know what selfless courage and bravery truly is. After several women were murdered by a serial rapist/killer in Allentown, PA, police officer Brian Lewis was stationed in a victim's home to stop the killer from returning and injuring the witness. The killer returned on the last night of the stakeout, and a shootout ensued between Lewis and the intruder. Harvey Miguel Robinson was eventually arrested and sentenced to death, thanks to the bravery and selflessness of Officer Lewis. It is time for the elites to take their heads out of the clouds and acknowledge the risks that police officers take every day to protect the public.

Fox News: Descendant of slaves hits Biden’s lack of action on reparations: All we get is 'fish fries, feel-good dances'

Dixon believes that President Biden can take action with executive order to bring back the Freedmen’s Bureau agency. He said he believes that Americans who identify as Black and can trace their lineage to slaves are owed $2.8 million in government bonds. Dixon was defeated in the 2022 Democratic primary for Rep. James Clyburn's seat, only gaining 4.5% of the vote.
