Breitbart: Illegal Migrants Must be Forced to Leave France, Minister Says
France's Finance Minister, Bruno Le Maire, has argued that illegal migrants must be forced to leave the country, calling for the Macron administration to be "firm" in dealing with the issue. Le Maire has insisted that officials should not be swayed by populism but has not provided any concrete proposals for how the country would remove illegal immigrants. The suggestion comes as Europe is dealing with a surge of asylum claims, raising concerns about the return of Islamist terrorism on the continent.
Breitbart: Border Agents, Migrants Encounter Rattlesnake near Border in Texas
Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents encountered a rattlesnake while escorting a group of migrants near the Texas border with Mexico. The snake eventually went its own way. Even though the area where the incident took place is becoming the busiest sector along the U.S.-Mexico border, migrants continue to cross to seek asylum.

The New American: Montana, Tennessee Legally Define Male and Female - The New American
Montana and Tennessee have enacted legislation to define sex as male and female in schools and public institutions, despite the alleged concerns that not affirming the delusions of those claiming LGBTQ status could lead to lawsuits. Montana's Governor Greg Gianforte has signed two bills to define sex as biological and protect parental rights, while Tennessee's Governor Bill Lee has signed two bills to define sex as male and female and protect teachers from having to use students' "preferred pronouns." These new laws in Montana and Tennessee go a long way to pushing back against LGBTQ insanity.
Townhall: How Not to Be President
The article advises potential presidential candidates like Gov. Ron DeSantis on the conduct NOT to follow, referring to Donald Trump's presidency as an inconsequential surrender marked by obnoxious tweets. Trump's legacy of failure extends to the signature wall project: despite multiple Republican majorities in Congress and promises to build the wall, he surrendered every time he was met with opposition, leaving his party bruised. National Review: DeSantis Officially Enters 2024 Race

The Epoch Times: Former Trump Adviser Reveals How DeSantis Could Beat Trump in 2024 Primary
Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany believes that Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis can beat Donald Trump in the 2024 GOP primary if he focuses on “policy distinctions.” DeSantis should focus on the positive side of his robust legislative accomplishments in Florida and ignore targeting Trump personally, McEnany advised. DeSantis is expected to publicly announce his presidential campaign Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. EDT in a Twitter Spaces interview alongside Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The Spaces feature allows for a large group of people to participate in a voice conversation. The feature’s current iteration does not allow for video.
National Review: Political Media Are Making Themselves Obsolete
Political press frustrated with Florida Gov. DeSantis' media strategy, which ignores traditional media outlets. Press is angry and fears increasing insularity will contribute to the obsolescence of its platforms. This changing relationship between reporters and subjects may be devolving and avoiding the mainstream press might become the best practice. Regardless of who wins future elections, there are few downsides to an alternative media strategy. ( )
The New American: Colorado Teachers Union Adopts Marxist Platform at Assembly - The New American
The Colorado Education Association (CEA), which represents over 39,000 K-12 teachers, voted for an anti-capitalist resolution at their 97th Annual Delegate Assembly. The resolution stated that capitalism "inherently exploits children, public schools, land, labor, and resources."
The resolution was reportedly authored by a history teacher who quoted directly from The Communist Manifesto and made it clear that the union’s members are the byproducts of public educators brainwashing students with their Marxist agenda. The resolution quickly gained opposition from some politicians, advocacy groups, and citizens who believe that the CEA is out of touch and should be focusing on improving student outcomes instead of promoting anti-capitalist policies.
The Blaze: Leftist who 'accidentally' shot elderly pro-life woman will NOT serve jail time
Richard Harvey, a Michigan man, has been given a suspended sentence, probation and community service, as well as an order to avoid any contact with his victim, Joan Jacobson, after pleading to shooting her in the shoulder last year. Both Jacobson and Harvey gave conflicting reports about what happened before the shooting, however, Harvey has since admitted he shot Jacobson accidentally. In his testimony, Harvey referred to Jacobson as a "right-wing nut", though he later stated that he was sorry and expressed regret for his actions.
Jacobson had come to the Harvey's house to campaign against a proposal that went on to be passed overwhelmingly and enshrined abortion until birth into Michigan's state constitution as a legal right. Both women disagreed on the issue of abortion. It is unclear whether Harvey's actions were motivated by the debate.

Two South Korean civil society groups are calling for the expulsion of CCP-backed Confucius Institutes. "Citizens for Unveiling Confucius Institute” and “CCP Out” held press conferences across 22 universities nationwide, claiming the institutes are a propaganda arm of the CCP and a betrayal of the students. The groups also criticised the Ministry of Education and universities for not taking action. The movement to expel Confucius Institutes has been growing across the US and Europe.
The Epoch Times: Critics of David Johnston's Report Against Formal Inquiry Say Hearings Not Enough
Canadians disappointed with special rapporteur's recommendation against formal inquiry into Chinese foreign interference in Canadian politics; critics say public hearings not enough and lack of transparency makes them worried for personal safety. Former Conservative MP Kenny Chiu calls for a formal inquiry to address doubts about foreign interference and for laws to prevent foreign actors from influencing elections.
The Epoch Times: China’s Waning Global Prestige
A recent Pew survey found that China's image has been diminishing in the eyes of Asians, Americans, and Europeans. While people across the world believe Chinese growth is generally a "good thing," there is growing skepticism of dealing with China specifically, with many countries resisting Chinese investment. This negative shift is likely due to Chinese leader Xi Jinping's authoritarian drift and Beijing's bullying strategies, which have turned what was once a welcoming world against China. Updated data also shows continued distrust of Beijing due to suspicions about the origin of COVID-19 and China's less reliable trading partnerships.

PJ Media: Fluff Over Substance: Policymakers Aren’t Prioritizing America’s Biggest Problems
Lawmakers in the US are facing just a few weeks to come up with a plan to raise America's debt ceiling or pass impossible budget cuts. Both parties are in agreement that the ceiling needs to be raised, however, they differ on how much to spend. A new deal must be reached by June 1 when America is expected to hit its debt ceiling. The House, Senate and President are out of town for the rest of May, meaning they may only have a few working days left to come up with a plan. Congress is often guilty of taking lengthy breaks and seems more interested in micromanaging individual issues for personal gain rather than focussing on fiscal issues.

Abbott Laboratories will also cut 200 jobs as demand for Covid-19 tests dwindles. These job cuts mark one of the busiest days of layoffs this spring, with approximately 136,000 employees cut since the start of 2023.

National Review: The Corner: A Paralyzed Man Can Walk Again
A man paralyzed from the hips down in a motorcycle accident in 2011 has been able to walk again with a "brain-spine interface," according to a study in the journal Nature. Gert-Jan Oskam, 40, was able to control his movements naturally using the interface, which involves implants in the brain and the spinal cord that help re-establish voluntary movement and enable direct communication between the two. The system allowed Oskam to walk, climb stairs, and tackle "complex terrains" without assistance.
Washington Free Beacon: WATCH: Squad Member Says Dems Not Banning Gas Stoves, Just 'Regulating Indoor Air Pollution'
Rep. Cori Bush (D., Mo.) denied claims that the Biden administration is seeking to ban gas stoves, although they are pushing measures that would ban half of gas stoves on the U.S. market. The proposed rules would prohibit half of American gas stoves currently on the market from being sold due to concerns surrounding indoor air pollution. The push for banning gas stoves is connected to a study that linked 13 percent of childhood asthma cases in the U.S. to cooking with gas-stoves, but the liberal media has downplayed fears of a ban on gas stoves as an unfounded conspiracy.

The Epoch Times: Quebec Police Identify Killer in 1975 Cold Case Murder of Sharron Prior
Franklin Maywood Romine, who died in 1982, has been identified through DNA evidence as the man who raped and murdered Sharron Prior in 1975. Police in Longueuil, Quebec are now investigating whether Romine could have been responsible for other unsolved murders in Canada and the US. The case had remained unsolved despite investigating 122 suspects, but new technology allowed a complete DNA sample from the murder scene to be mixed with databases, finally leading to the identification of Romine. Prior’s younger sister praised the work of the Canadian police, who worked with the FBI, and said that while the resolution would not bring her sister back, it at least ended the family’s long wait for closure.

The Epoch Times: TikTok Star Mizzy Fined £200 for Breaching Order With 'Prank' Trespass Video
A teenager in London, known as Mizzy, received a two-year criminal behaviour order, fine, and other penalties for breaching a community protection notice after posting a TikTok video of himself in a private home without permission. The criminal behaviour order prohibits Mizzy from posting videos on social media without consent, trespassing on private property, and entering certain areas of the Westfield shopping centre. Community protection notices were introduced in 2014 to combat anti-social behaviour, with failure to comply resulting in potential fines of up to £2,500 for individuals and £20,000 for businesses.
TikTok has become increasingly popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, with almost two billion total downloads globally and 3.7 million active users in the UK. The app is owned by Beijing-based ByteDance and has faced criticism for potential ties to the Chinese Communist Party. In March 2022, the UK joined other countries in banning the use of TikTok on government devices due to concerns over sensitive data access and usage.
The Blaze: Soros-backed LA DA Gascón has 10,000-case backlog, sources say — ultra-woke policies, 'toxic' management caused office to 'hemorrhage' staff
George Gascón, the Soros-funded district attorney of Los Angeles, has caused a backlog of 10,000 cases by adopting ultra-woke policies that caused staff to leave, according to sources that spoke to the New York Post. Gascón has dodged two separate recall attempts since taking office in 2020, but despite public backlash against his polices, he has continued to defend them by saying the former “tough-on-crime” approach failed. Such policies have allowed criminals to escape jail time and victims’ families to be victimized by the criminal justice system, according to experts in the field. His office has over 200 vacancies, with a backlog of 10,000 cases, insiders say.

In recent days, former Sinaloa Cartel lieutenant Damaso "Mini Lic" Lopez Serrano sent letters to various news outlets claiming that Los Chapitos are responsible for the fentanyl crisis and are the leaders of their faction within the cartel.

The Epoch Times: Coral Reef Crisis: Deadly Epidemic Wipes Out Black Sea Urchins in Red Sea
A new study revealed that black sea urchins in both the Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Eilat in Southern Israel face a deadly epidemic. Thousands of sea urchins died out in a site near the northern shore of the Gulf over the course of a few weeks. The entire population of black sea urchins in Eilat was wiped out over a couple of months, leading researchers to predict the same fate for the population in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. It poses a great threat to coral reefs and surpasses anything documented in the history of the Gulf of Eilat. The researchers hypothesize that a pathogenic ciliate parasite is the source of this deadly epidemic.

The compound originally started with a small cabin in the woods with no electricity or running water, but has grown to include two cabins, wells, and electricity. Duhamel has also created trails and is currently growing corn and pumpkins, but originally started with clover and chicory in an attempt to feed deer that he could later hunt.

Forbes: The First Rule Of Regulating AI Is To Demonstrate A Problem Exists
OpenAI authors call for international regulatory authority on superintelligent AI development, but lack evidence to support their conclusion. Presidential Executive Order 12866 requires evidence-based problem identification before implementation of regulations. Existential risks posed by AI must be distinguished from more ordinary risks, such as privacy and information quality. There is currently little evidence to support AI doomers' concerns about superintelligent systems leading to unintended consequences. Smart minds should be working on the topic, but Luddite regulation is not the answer. The lack of evidence-based regulatory thought by AI doomers hampers their arguments for creation of a regulatory authority.

Daily Wire: Texas Bill Requiring Schools To Display Ten Commandments Fails
Republican lawmakers in Texas failed to pass a bill requiring public schools to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms. The bill was approved by the state Senate in a 17-12 vote along party lines but was blocked by Democrats in the House using a delay tactic, and the deadline was missed for the bill to be voted on again. Critics, including the ACLU, objected to the bill's violation of the separation of church and state.
