Trump has been attacking DeSantis for months, and it remains to be seen whether DeSantis will hit back or continue to focus on his own record as governor.

The Epoch Times: China Is Both Supplier and Saboteur of America’s Electric Grid, Experts Say
Chinese companies have become key suppliers of hardware to the U.S. electric grid that analysts fear could give China the ability to crash the grid if hostilities were ever to escalate. American electric utilities have increasingly been installing essential hardware components, like transformers, that are made in China into the U.S. grid. Americans have become so used to an uninterrupted supply of electricity that our degree of dependence on the grid for the most basic necessities, like food, water, heat, medical care, communication, and increasingly, transportation, often goes unnoticed.
Transformers are generally custom-made, at a cost of millions of dollars, with delivery times between several months and more than a year. Two European engineering companies that manufacture transformers, Siemens in Germany and ABB in Switzerland, often use Chinese components. Biden rescinded the 2020 ban on Chinese equipment imports in May 2021. “In fact,” Sheahan said, “nearly every element of the technology-based digital smart grid is dependent on Chinese-made components with murky provenance.” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va.) said at the March 23 energy hearing that "experts are still determining the degree of risk" but there is concern that these new resources (such as electric vehicles and solar panels) can serve as additional entry points for cyber adversaries to target the grid and could have the possibility to cause major disruptions and cyber attacks on our energy system.
Breitbart: Elon Musk Says Twitter Was Full of Workers Doing 'Fake Work' - and Thinks Most Silicon Valley Giants Are Too
Elon Musk defends Twitter layoffs and accuses Silicon Valley of hiring for "fake work" and "vanity metrics". He claims that most tech companies could benefit from further job cuts. Musk reduced Twitter’s staff from 7,500 to around 1,500, and he plans to increase it again once the company is cash-flow positive. Musk emphasized that employees must be exceptional and strongly committed to the business in order to keep their jobs.
Daily Wire: Poll: Most Americans Want Spending Cuts Included In Debt Ceiling Deal
Americans want spending cuts alongside raising the debt ceiling as President Biden and House Speaker McCarthy negotiate a deal to avert a U.S. default. A recent CNN poll says 60% of Americans want to see cuts to federal spending in a deal to raise the debt ceiling, as the US approaches June 1, when the country could be unable to pay its bills. Biden's negotiations have been causing some fractures among Democrats in the House who want the president to come back to his previous non-negotiable position. Members of the Progressive Caucus are warning the president against signing a “bad deal” with Republicans.
Forbes: Disney+ And Hulu Are About To Lose Dozens Of Shows And Movies — Here’s The Full List
Disney is facing losses in its streaming business and has announced a second round of layoffs, as well as cutting shows and movies from Disney+ and Hulu. The company is in the middle of a \$5.5 billion cost-cutting plan and will shut down the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Adventure hotel in Orlando. Other streamers and studios are also feeling the impact of big spending in streaming combined with box office revenue losses and the disappearance of the lucrative DVD market. Some Netflix shows have been canceled because the company is switching to cheaper reality shows and junk TV that appeals to the lowest common denominator.
Disney is deleting a number of shows and movies from Disney+ and Hulu, including the Mysterious Benedict Society, in anticipation of the merger. These titles are not scheduled to return, leaving some subscribers disappointed and wondering how to watch the shows they missed. The cancelled shows include Westworld and Raised By Wolves, while a completed Batgirl film will never see the light of day. Disney's streaming losses and cost-cutting measures are the result of changes in the industry, including a decline in box office revenue due to the pandemic and the death of the DVD market.
American Thinker: It’s the economists, stupid
Leftist economic policies have led to unsustainable levels of debt and endanger national stability. Many supposedly expert economists do not understand basic economic principles that people spend their own money more wisely than governments, economies thrive when labor is applied to natural resources, and printing more money leads to inflation. The leftist economists may understand this and are sinking the ship while securing a seat on a lifeboat. The plan may succeed for them, but they suggest that people eat insects, own nothing, and use expensive electric cars while sending children to mine lithium in Africa.

Human Events: POSOBIEC: Every Christian player on the LA Dodgers must boycott
the Drag Nun award night
Jack Posobiec calls for Christian players on the LA Dodgers to boycott the Drag Nun Award Night featuring sexually subversive displays of Catholic nuns and Jesus during pride month in June. Posobiec notes the group's self-proclaimed hateful behavior towards Christianity and their presence is unsuitable for a family event like a baseball game. Rather than MLB games, Posobiec suggests taking children to AAA games. He concludes questioning the lack of the Christian church's response to this issue.

The WHO Withdrawal Act and No Taxpayer Funding for the World Health Organization Act have 42 and 40 cosponsors respectively but have yet to be acted upon. The conservatives believe that the WHO has been issuing ineffective health guidance, has no accountability and should not be granted more authority by the Biden administration. The W.H.O. voted to increase membership fees by 20%, resulting in a $6.83 billion budget for 2024.

The Epoch Times: EXPLAINER: Which Guns Can Canadians Still Own and Purchase After Bill C-21 Becomes Law?
Canada will implement a ban on “assault-style” firearms as part of the new Bill C-21, which will impact over 2.3 million gun owners. The legislation proposes to enact measures to curb homemade “ghost guns,” cement restrictions on handguns into law, and increase penalties for firearms trafficking. Canadians will also be unable to purchase firearms that discharge centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner or were originally designed with a detachable cartridge magazine with a capacity of six cartridges or more. Mandatory buyback applies to over 1,500 models of “assault-style” firearms. The sale, purchase, or transfer of handguns in Canada will also be “frozen" under the legislation, except for a limited set of individuals and businesses, without completely banning their use .
Amendments introduced to Bill C-21, which would have banned almost all types of semi-automatic firearms, including those used for hunting, were withdrawn following an outcry, but revised amendments have been introduced that would still ban many rifles and shotguns used by hunters. The government also announced the establishment of the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee, but shadow public safety minister Raquel Dancho accused the Liberals of potentially using the committee to hide the list of firearms they want to ban from Canadians. The Parliamentary Budget Office has predicted the program could cost $756 million, “in addition to administration costs”. The RCMP will release a full list of which guns are allowed once the bill passes through the Senate .

Daily Wire: Hollywood Actor Admits He’s Become A Doomsday Prepper ‘In Case S*** Hits The Fan’
Actor Josh Duhamel reveals that he has built a remote compound in North Dakota and has become a “doomsday prepper,” planting crops and learning to hunt in case of a catastrophic situation in Los Angeles. The compound originally started with a small cabin in the woods with no electricity or running water, but has grown to include two cabins, wells, and electricity. Duhamel has also created trails and is currently growing corn and pumpkins, but originally started with clover and chicory in an attempt to feed deer that he could later hunt.
The Epoch Times: You Can Grow Your Own Corn—and There's Way More Than Sweet Corn
Corn is the only grain commonly grown in home gardens and a ubiquitous icon of summer picnics. It comes in half a dozen broad types and many varieties, including sweet corn, flour corn, dent corn, and decorative corn. Horticultural requirements for all types are basically the same, including sufficient water and well-prepared soil. Despite its association with summer, flour corn brings summer warmth to the winter kitchen when used to bake fresh cornbread.
Days to maturity and requisite heat accumulation are key factors in growing all varieties of corn and vary depending on the region. However, it is possible to grow short-season, low-heat varieties in places like Arizona and Texas in the spring or autumn. Corn cultivation requires water, with experts recommending one inch of water per week. Flour, dent, and other types of corn should remain on the plant until the husk turns papery, and can then be dried in a warm room, unhusked, and stored for winter. Grinding corn can be done with ease using a hand-size coffee grinder, which works great with far less effort than traditional stone grinding.

The Epoch Times: Regulators Cut Haddock Fishing Quotas by Over 80 Percent in New England
Haddock overfishing has led to an 84% cut in catch quotas for the fish on the East Coast, causing disagreement among regulators and fishermen. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) added Gulf of Maine haddock stock to its overfishing list last month, as a recent assessment revealed an unexpected decline in the species. The New England Fishery Management Council has lowered the catch limits for Gulf of Maine haddock in an attempt to improve stocks, but the New England Fishermen Stewardship Association and many fishermen say the data does not match what they observe in the water. The fall in haddock catch comes as other profitable seafood species have collapsed in the region, such as the Atlantic cod.

PJ Media: France Bans Domestic Flights Where Passengers Can Take Trains
France has banned short domestic flights where passengers have the option to take a train, in an effort to reduce airline emissions. However, the ban will mostly rule out air trips between Paris and regional hubs such as Nantes, Lyon, and Bordeaux, with connecting flights unaffected. Critics have noted that the cut-off point for comparable train journeys is shy of the roughly three hours it takes to travel from Paris to [the] Mediterranean port city Marseille by high-speed rail. The French government passed a law in 2021 that included the ban, and it just recently officially took effect. The law does specify that train services on the same route must be frequent, timely, and well-connected enough to meet the needs of passengers who would otherwise travel by air and able to absorb the increase in passenger numbers.
