Spectator USA: Can DeSantis clear the giant, orange roadblock?
Ron DeSantis faces a double challenge: to beat Donald Trump without alienating his voters and to win over Trump's own supporters to win the general election. DeSantis, Florida's governor, has formidable strengths, including his successful policies and electoral victories. He represents a new generation of Republican leaders and offers a forward-looking program without moderate compromise. However, DeSantis has limitations, such as personal weaknesses and his embrace of social-conservative policies that Democrats will attack relentlessly. To win, DeSantis must consolidate the anti-Trump vote, overcome Trump's vitriol and retain other candidates in the race, and get past the giant, orange roadblock Trump represents.
The Epoch Times: IRS Commissioner Denies Retaliation Against Whistleblower in Hunter Biden Investigation
IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel denies directing retaliation against whistleblowers who were involved in the investigation of Hunter Biden. Werfel denies intervening in any way that would impact the status of any whistleblower, and stated this in a letter to the House Ways and Means Committee. Last month attorney Mark D Lytle came forward on behalf of an unnamed whistleblower, making protected disclosures to the IRS, the U.S. Treasury Inspector General, the Office of Inspector General, and the Department of Justice. The disclosures contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee, and involve failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject was not politically connected. The whistleblower advocacy group Empower Oversight, supporting the whistleblower, has also retweeted reports indicating the whistleblower claims relate to the President’s son.
National Review: The Corner: DeSantis on Ukraine and His Theory of the Electorate
DeSantis fielded questions from conservative journalists about his political theories and how he plans to unite Republicans after a potentially contentious primary. He emphasized his broad appeal and cited how he, Kemp, and Reynolds were able to win independent voters in 2022 by offering someone they're "comfortable" with, contrasting with Trump's divisive approach. DeSantis expects a close race against Biden but hopes to demoralize Democrats as he did in Florida. He declined to give a bottom-line dollar limit for Ukraine aid, emphasizing the need to avoid a lengthy war of attrition.
Red State: WATCH: IRS Whistleblower Goes Public, Witnessed 'Irregularities' in Case, Contradicts Garland Testimony
IRS supervisor Gary Shapley has spoken out about interference in a case he was involved in, which CBS has identified as the Hunter Biden case. Shapley has alleged "irregularities" in the case's handling by the Department of Justice and will testify before the House Ways and Means Committee on Friday in a closed hearing. Shapley's attorney has said he has evidence that would contradict Attorney General Merrick Garland's testimony.
Red State: DeSantis Broke Twitter With His Launch, and There's a Lot of Coping Going on in Response
Ron DeSantis announces presidential campaign and breaks Twitter for 20 minutes, but his launch is not a total disaster as he garners a lot of attention, securing a quasi-endorsement from Mark Levin and raising $1 million in just a single hour. DeSantis is now commanding a ton of attention and is the center of the political universe, becoming the main event of the GOP primary season and leaving politicians, from Biden to Trump, reacting to him.

Flag And Cross: Graphic Video Shows Who LA Dodgers Are Really Inviting to Game: 'Most Grotesque Display' Ever Seen
The LA Dodgers baseball team faced backlash for planning to honor the anti-Christian group "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" at its "Pride Night" game. The invitation was rescinded, then reinvited after pressure from the LGBT community. A video emerged showing the blasphemous "sisters" staging a performance with a man pretending to be Jesus on the cross while a drag queen dances on it. The group also staged a drag queen Easter show with a "Hunky Jesus" and a "Foxy Mary". Pressure is growing on Christian members of the team, such as Clayton Kersh and Dave Roberts, to speak out against this "grotesque display".

Louisiana state Sen. Fred Mills sided with Democrats to kill a bill that would have prohibited health professionals from providing gender transition measures to minors, stating that a choice should be made by a patient and a doctor. The Epoch Times: US, South Korea Issue Fresh North Korea Sanctions on 'Illicit' IT Workforce
US and South Korea announce new North Korea sanctions on IT workers allegedly involved in funding weapons of mass destruction and missile programs. The sanctions target Kim Sang Man and Chinyong Information Technology Cooperation Company, with South Korea also imposing sanctions on seven individuals and three entities. North Korea oversees thousands of IT workers worldwide generating revenue that contributes to their programs. Brian Nelson calls this "extensive illicit cyber and IT worker operations" while South Korea says the announcement demonstrates joint efforts to block North Korea's malicious revenue generation through illicit cyber activities.
