PJ Media: False Flag? Suspicion Surrounds White House U-Haul Attack
A U-Haul truck crashed into security barriers near the White House, and the driver is facing charges of threatening the President and Vice President, assault, and trespassing. Law enforcement officers found a Nazi flag, a black backpack, and duct tape, leading to suspicions that the incident was staged to fuel Joe Biden's claim that "white supremacy" is the most dangerous terrorist threat. The driver has been identified as Sai Varshith Kandula, but his ownership of a Nazi flag and whether he is a white supremacist remain unclear.
Fox News: FBI refuses to provide subpoenaed document on alleged Biden 'criminal scheme'
House Republicans subpoenaed a document from the FBI detailing an alleged bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden, but the agency refused to provide it during a private meeting with the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. The unclassified FD-1023 document reportedly details criminal allegations relating to the Biden family's business dealings. House Republicans are threatening to hold the FBI's budget hostage until the agency gets new leadership or provides the document.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he had a call with FBI Director Christopher Wray and is confident the agency will eventually provide the document. Rep. James Comer, who chairs the Oversight Committee, spoke with Senate Republicans about holding the FBI under contempt if it does not comply. The FBI previously failed to provide the document by the May 10 deadline and claimed in a six-page letter to Comer that the document was unverified and based on informants who must be kept private.
Breitbart: Georgia Democrat Slams Party for Favoring Migrants over Americans
Georgia Democratic legislator Mesha Mainor criticized her party for prioritizing new immigrants over African Americans. Mainor voiced her concern that the Democrats' support for immigrants is driving their African American supporters out of the party. Many black citizens believe their interests are being subordinated to the establishment's preference for migrants, and comments and polls show that many blacks oppose large-scale migration. Pro-American activists have supported Mesha Mainor for speaking out against illegal aliens and for Americans.

The Federalist Papers: E. Jean Carroll Goes After Former President Trump Again, Asks Court For New Damages After CNN Town Hall
E. Jean Carroll has filed a court request to revise her 2019 lawsuit against Donald Trump, seeking additional money for anti-Trump comments he made during a CNN town hall. Carroll won $5 million in a May 9 civil suit against Trump after the jury rejected her rape claim but found him guilty of defamation and sexual abuse. Carroll's lawyer argues Trump’s “malicious” comments merit a larger amount for the former president to face consequences, and Carroll also wants to include the jury verdict and Trump’s town hall remarks in her claim.
Fox News: Russiagate government figures exposed in Durham report were rewarded with cushy TV gigs, lucrative book deals
The Durham report concludes that the Russia investigation should never have been launched as it was based on "raw, unanalyzed and uncorroborated intelligence." The report details the roles of six high-ranking officials involved in Russiagate, including Andrew McCabe, who directed Crossfire Hurricane to be "opened immediately" based on information received from Australian authorities, and John Brennan, who previously served as President Obama's CIA director, claimed to not know about evidence of Trump-Russia collusion but fueled legitimacy about Russiagate despite knowing about Clinton's scheme during the 2016 election. The report also highlights the anti-Trump bias of former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and former FBI lawyer Peter Strzok, who were both directly involved in matters relating to the opening of Crossfire Hurricane. Andrew Weissmann, a prosecutor on Mueller's team who heavily investigated former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, also cashed in on his role as Mueller's "pit bull prosecutor" with an MSNBC contributorship.

Euromaidan Press: Russian Volunteer Corps denies Russian military’s claims on cross-border raid suppression
Russian military and security forces claim to have successfully suppressed a cross-border raid from Russian volunteers based in Ukraine, killing over 70 attackers during a 24-hour battle. However, the Russian Volunteer Corps and Legion "Freedom for Russia” deny these claims and assert that they are liberating the Belgorod region from the Moscow regime. Explosions were reported in Russia's Belgorod Oblast on May 22, followed by the arrival of Russian volunteers in the region, which the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) stated was an operation within Russian territory to establish a “security strip” aimed at protecting Ukrainian civilians.

Foreign Policy: China Is Developing and Developed at the Same Time
China is facing a complex identity crisis as it combines both developed and developing country traits. The U.S. House of Representatives voted unanimously to deny China preferential treatment as a developing country under international arrangements. China has become the world's second-largest economy, projecting its economic and diplomatic influence abroad. It has the largest number of foreign postings and mobilizations of its military while exhibiting poor social and economic indicators such as pollution and health and education outcomes. Energy is a major concern, with China relying on increasing energy use to power economic growth and needing to procure nearly 20% more by 2040. Notwithstanding its domestic resources, much of China's energy will need to be imported, which in turn will affect its approach to energy exporters like Russia. China has launched a 'dual circulation' economic strategy that relies on both domestic and foreign markets to power growth. The country has become a 'hybrid superpower,' and understanding its complex identity will help address a rising China.

The Epoch Times: Wall Street Opens Lower as Debt Ceiling Talks Remain Deadlocked
In another round of talks, the possibility of a government default looms as Wall Street takes a hit. The Dow fell 0.29% and the S&P 500 dropped 0.38%.
National Review: The Corner: President Biden’s Debt-Ceiling Deal Isn’t Serious
President Biden's most recent debt-ceiling proposal heavily favors tax increases instead of spending cuts. The plan includes numerous tax increases and no real spending cuts or reforms to make the tax code more productive. This plan is a disappointment since successful debt-to-GDP ratio reductions rely heavily on spending reforms. The fiscal outlook can't stabilize unless the gap between spending and revenue growth rates is closed. The debt-ceiling deal must control spending growth instead of relying just on tax increases.

Fox News: 12-week abortion law takes effect in Nebraska as state prepares crackdown on transgender surgeries for minors
Republican Gov. Jim Pillen signed into law Nebraska's 12-week abortion bill, LB 574, which includes restrictions on transgender procedures for minors. The law allows exceptions for rape, incest, and protecting the life of the mother. The bill's abortion measures took effect immediately on Tuesday, while the restrictions limiting access to puberty blockers and hormone therapy for all residents under 19, and banning gender transition procedures for the age group, will not take effect until October.
The Epoch Times: Breakthrough Tests May Revolutionize Diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease
New lab tests have been developed that can detect early signs of Parkinson’s disease, enabling earlier diagnosis and treatment. The two tests, SYNTap and Syn-One, accurately detect markers for the alpha-synuclein protein, which is genetically linked to Parkinson’s disease and is responsible for gradual damage to the brain. SYNTap identifies signs of alpha-synuclein protein in the spinal fluid obtained through a spinal tap, while Syn-One tests for traces of the protein in skin punch biopsies. Early diagnosis and treatment can slow disease progression and improve patients’ quality of life. However, a positive result from either test does not necessarily indicate Parkinson’s disease but rather a group of disorders associated with abnormal alpha-synuclein clumping.

The Epoch Times: Overall Q1 Crime Figures in Hong Kong Soared by Nearly 50% Year-on-year
Crime rates in Hong Kong jumped by 48.4% year-on-year in Q1 2023, with deception topping the list of crimes, followed by theft and triad-related crimes. Pickpocketing saw the highest growth rate, rising by 108.9%. According to Commissioner of Police Chris Tang Ping-keung, the surge can be attributed to an increase in deception cases and reduced social activities due to pandemic-related social distancing measures. This is a return to pre-pandemic levels, but some citizens and commentators call for a breakdown of deception cases and warn about the impact of the economy and the reopening of Hong Kong's border with mainland China.

Forbes: The Sports Agent Of The NIL Era: A Social Media Savvy Life Coach
College athletes can now monetize their name, image, and likeness (NIL), which begs the question of how an agency that represents college athletes should operate. As such, agents must master social media, monetize influencer status, while also providing personalization and financial advice that will help the athletes succeed. Breitbart: France Bans Short-Haul Flights: Orders Travelers to Catch a Train Instead
France has passed into law a ban on domestic commercial airline flights for journeys possible in under two-and-a-half hours by train, which affects mostly travel between Paris and regional hubs such as Nantes, Lyon, and Bordeaux, with connecting flights unaffected. The legislation does specify train services on the same route must be frequent, timely, and well-connected enough to meet the needs of passengers who would otherwise travel by air – and able to absorb the increase in passenger numbers. Critics have noted the cutoff point for comparable train journeys is shy of the roughly three hours it takes to travel from Paris to Mediterranean port city Marseille by high-speed rail.
French Transport Minister Clement Beaune said he was “proud that France is a pioneer in this area,” adding that “this is a major step forward in the policy of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.” The framework used by France to ban the first three routes are also available to the governments of all E.U. members, so more may follow across the continent in time. The French ban on domestic commercial short-haul flights will be valid for three years after which it will be re-assessed. No comparable decree for elite private jet travel on the same routes has yet been issued.
