Fox News: DeSantis hints at presidential run, predicts which Supreme Court justices could be gone in next decade
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis hinted at his presidential ambitions, calling for a more secure 7-2 conservative majority on the Supreme Court over the next two presidential terms. He argued that replacing Justices Clarence Thomas or Samuel Alito with liberal judges could move the court to the left. DeSantis called for a Republican president to have the opportunity to fortify conservative justices such as Alito and Thomas, as well as replace Chief Justice John Roberts or Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
During a speech to the National Religious Broadcasters Convention, DeSantis expressed his aspirations to enter the Republican presidential primary. He may join a growing roster of candidates including former President Trump, Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and possibly former Vice President Mike Pence. DeSantis' comments came the same day as more than 100 former Trump administration officials formed a coalition backing him. They labelled themselves "The Eight-Year Alliance," stating that DeSantis is "a proven winner" and can serve for two terms unlike Trump.

The letter also prompts readers to guess who is responsible for five different actions, including hiding travel records and being rejected for an endorsement. DeSantis has not yet announced his candidacy, but a RealClearPolitics poll has him in a distant second place to Donald Trump.
Fox News: Gianno Caldwell slams NAACP over Florida travel advisory: 'Put one out in Chicago'
The NAACP issued a travel advisory for Florida, but Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell criticized the organization, saying it now serves White liberals and Democratic politicians instead of Black people. Caldwell argued that Florida is the number one place for doing business for African-Americans and issuing the advisory could ultimately harm Black-owned businesses. He also called out the NAACP for not issuing a travel advisory for places like Chicago or Baltimore where many murders take place.
Fox News: Kari Lake loses last claim in Arizona election challenge
Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake lost her lawsuit challenging her loss to Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs in the 2022 election. Lake had claimed that ballot printers in the county were inaccurate and signatures on mail-in ballots were not properly reviewed as required by state law. However, a judge dismissed her lawsuit due to a lack of evidence. Lake, who is backed by former President Trump, is considering a bid for the US Senate seat currently held by Kyrsten Sinema.

Fox News: Inside nightly siege faced by feds in Portland: Reporters detail attacks on officers
Federal agents guarding the courthouse in Portland are facing nightly violent attacks from rioters. The Associated Press' lead justice department reporter, Mike Balsamo, gave a detailed firsthand account of the onslaught the officers have faced. "I spent the weekend inside the Portland federal courthouse with the US Marshals. Mortars were being fired off repeatedly, fireworks and flares shot into the lobby, frozen bottles, concrete, cans and bouncy balls regularly whizzed over the fence at high speeds." The federal agents are confined inside the courthouse, which has become the center of the criticism. Protesters have alleged that the agents are stifling free speech.

Spectator USA: Netflix’s Queen Cleopatra girlbosses against historical fact
Netflix's new drama-documentary Queen Cleopatra cast a black actress, Adele James, in the title role, which was controversial, as Cleopatra was a Macedonian Greek. The show, however, argued that Cleopatra was black, with the help of African-American professor Shelley P. Haley, who shared a statement made by her grandmother, saying "Cleopatra was black." The show presented Cleopatra as a powerful feminist who excelled in sword fighting, was a scholar, poring over military maps, giving Julius Caesar architectural tips, and winning political debates against Cicero. However, the show's lack of objectivity made it difficult to trust any of the actual history presented.

Forbes: Mitch Keller Just Might Be The Pirates’ Long-Sought Homegrown Ace
It's been a long drought for the Pittsburgh Pirates, lacking homegrown pitching talent for the past 35 years. Mitch Keller struggled in the beginning, but has since added a high quality cutter to his mix while maintaining a strong four-seam fastball, earning him an "A+" grade. He's managed to control his contact well and looks like a potential Cy Young and Contact Manager of the Year contender.
Forbes: Major League Baseball Trade Candidate: San Diego Padres’ Blake Snell
The San Diego Padres have an estimated payroll of $249 million, putting them over the first of four MLB luxury tax thresholds, but they are behind in the standings. Star third baseman Manny Machado is on the Injured List, and pitcher Seth Lugo joined him with a strained calf, leaving the Padres with several marginal players on the last year of their contract. As a result, left-handed starter Blake Snell, currently paid $16.6 million, may be made available in trade. The New York Mets, the New York Yankees, and the Minnesota Twins are all potential trade partners for Snell.
Blake Snell, a former All Star and winner of the American League Cy Young Award in 2018, may be a good addition for teams looking for experienced left-handed starters. His fastball sits at an impressive 95 miles per hour, and he uses it to set up his other pitches. His lackluster performance this year may not deter several clubs from trading for him. The New York Mets may be an ideal trade partner since they need to bolster their rotation, and they have depth at the catcher position that the Padres can use. The New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins are also attractive trade partners for the Padres.
