Forbes: Ford Will Keep AM Radio In 2024 Cars After All—Amid Pressure From Lawmakers And GOP Pundits
Ford Will Keep AM Radio In 2024 Cars After All—Amid Pressure From Lawmakers And GOP Pundits
Ford will keep AM radio in all 2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, reversing its decision to leave AM out of its new electric cars, due to its importance for political talk radio and emergency broadcasts. The move comes after lawmakers from both parties cited AM's significance, and Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts unveiled the AM for Every Vehicle Act, which would require automakers to maintain AM radio without an extra charge. Ford CEO Jim Farley said the company will also provide a software upgrade for Ford electric vehicle owners who lack AM broadcast capability. At least five other automakers, including Tesla and BMW, had already stopped offering AM radio in their electric models due to electromagnetic interference issues.

According to a Nielsen survey, 82.3 million Americans listen to AM radio monthly. While some automakers have stopped offering AM in electric cars citing poor sound quality due to electromagnetic interference, Ford and other carmakers including Volkswagen and BMW were pressed by lawmakers to keep AM radio for safety reasons and its role in transmitting emergency information. Mark Levin and Sean Hannity, both conservative radio hosts, had urged automakers to reverse course to maintain conservative talk radio. Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts unveiled the AM for Every Vehicle Act, which would require automakers to maintain AM broadcast at no additional charge. The bill also seeks to have the Government Accountability Office study whether alternative communication systems like streaming could replicate the effectiveness of AM broadcast radio for public emergency alerts.

Secret Audio Of Soros Prosecutor Raises Questions About Her Courtroom Statements In Loudoun
George Soros-backed prosecutor Buta Biberaj was caught on a secret recording blasting conservative activists who wanted to recall school board members linked to a school rape coverup in Northern Virginia. Parents believed that the far-left prosecutor would botch the prosecution if she were in charge, and the recording seems to affirm their suspicions. Biberaj did not tell the court that she opposed recalls, though she initially refused to recuse herself from her role prosecuting the recalls of her fellow Democrats, arguing that she was unbiased and capable of overseeing the recalls. The judge ultimately disqualified her from the prosecution of Beth Barts due to the appearance of conflict and appointed another George Soros-backed prosecutor to take her place in the Brenda Sheridan case, who dropped it. The audio was obtained as Loudoun and Biberaj are under scrutiny for a rebranded version of the Anti-Racist Parents called Loudoun Love Warriors, in which members used violent rhetoric such as wanting to "curb-stomp" a parent who spoke at a school board meeting while working to protect Biberaj from criticism.

Trump Says He Gave Pro-Life Movement Power to Negotiate Abortion Policy; Says Abortion Exceptions Are Important for Winning Elections
Donald Trump claims credit for the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to end Roe v. Wade and argues that his actions gave pro-life advocates greater power to negotiate and set abortion policy. Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices who supported overturning the landmark precedent during last year’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. However, he recently appeared to criticize Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for passing a ban on abortions in Florida after six weeks. Trump's comments come as DeSantis has been widely rumored to be preparing a 2024 Republican presidential campaign. Trump said if he regains the presidency in 2024, his administration will strongly favor incentivizing adoption as an alternative to abortion.

The American Mind: The Spirit of de Sade
The Spirit of de Sade
The loss of absolute standards for judging right and wrong is an absurdity in today's society that prevents first-rate thinkers from recognizing their existence. The unprovable two-part conjecture we deduce moral action from is the Great Speculation, where other people's inner lives are as real to them as ours is to ourselves and all inner lives are of equal value to God on high. Extinction of either half of the Great Speculation is evil, a power that enters people who do in good conscience what any healthy heart would recognize as indefensible.

Communist Regime Admits Cuba’s Population Is Collapsing
Cuba's population is declining due to slow birth rates, high elderly population, and mass migration crisis. The population in March 2022 was estimated at 11,082,964, down from 11,089,500 the previous month. Low birth rates lead to fertility rates of 1.41 children per woman, and the elderly population represents 22.3 percent of the entire population. One contributing factor to the population decline is mass migration due to communist mismanagement, resulting in daily blackouts, severe shortages, and lack of access to healthcare. Hundreds of thousands of Cubans have fled within the past two years, potentially lowering the country's true population below 11 million.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has rejected calls for a public inquiry into allegations of foreign election interference. Instead, he is following the recommendation of special rapporteur David Johnston that a public inquiry could not be held due to classified information, but public hearings would be beneficial. Johnston also suggested embarking on an open discussion with the foreign diaspora that is often targeted by foreign interference. Trudeau reassured Canadians that foreign interference, as well as misinformation and disinformation, were of great concern, yet part of the country’s democracy is having robust debates based on true facts.

Western nations seek Africa's help in their green industrial supply chains and to access vital raw materials, particularly in light of their shift away from dependence on Russia energy. However, Africa feels the West's engagement to be one-sided, inconvenient and hypocritical, and is instead enamored by China, its biggest investor and trading partner. The West's approach must change with long-term investments, balanced support, industrial partnerships and policy dialogue, and debt relief to spark Africa's own energy transition as they prepare to partner in the global green transition.

The concept of creating a "simulacrum" of humanity using AI to fit our own view of ourselves raises questions about the nature of consciousness and the danger of creating something that mimics us but lacks true emotion or thought. The AI demon woman, Loab, created by an AI image generator, is a pattern of preferences and a habit of contorting the human form, a purely inverted and destructive parody of what it means to be human. The patterns and tendencies we build into our machines are not value-neutral and can be characterized as demonic, taking away consciousness from humans and demeaning our souls.

Envy can be turned into a source of information to improve your life and the lives of those around you, by recognizing it and asking yourself what you're really envious of. Rather than allowing envy to fester, celebrate the good fortunes of others and use their success to inspire service to others. The key to squashing envy is to foster a sense of deep gratitude. Envy and gratitude are incompatible and shifting your focus to what you have rather than what you lack can uplift the quality of your life.
