The Federalist Papers: Alert: TSA Now Wants Your Biometric Data at These 25 Airports
The Transportation Security Administration is testing facial recognition technology at 25 airports across the US, taking pictures of passengers and using them to verify identifications. While TSA says its “Touchless Identity Solution” system improves safety, critics including several senators argue it breaches privacy and could perpetuate racial bias. The trial facial recognition system is voluntary, the agency says, and pictures are deleted when the system is switched off. However, passengers are rarely informed that they can refuse to have their photos taken. The TSA hopes to expand the system to all airports.
Daily Wire: Democrat Lawmaker Predicts Backlash ‘In The Streets’ If White House Agrees To Spending Cut
Democratic Representatives Pramila Jayapal and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have rejected President Biden compromising with Republicans on spending caps and a debt ceiling increase, warning of backlash from lawmakers and the general public. The Republicans want to link an increase in the debt ceiling with spending caps, while Democrats want to separate the two processes. The government’s national debt limit of $31.4tn has already been exceeded this year. There are concerns about the government reaching default in as little as two weeks. No spending reforms or increased work requirements for federal welfare will be accepted.
There is a risk of a financial crisis due to neglecting to increase the debt ceiling, and the national debt, now over $31.7tn, is holding back economic growth. Interest rates are also weighing on the budget, forcing lawmakers to use more revenue on servicing debts than funding programs. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has warned that the government could run out of funds in June, while a report from the Congressional Budget Office shows there is uncertainty regarding funds for the rest of May. Republican House Minority Leader McCarthy is struggling to find a compromise with the Democrats before the deadline. The House Freedom Caucus is also refusing to pass legislation without support from the Republicans.

Breitbart: GOP Demands Transparency from Treasury on Default Day Projection
Republicans demand transparency from Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on how long the federal government can operate before it defaults; Yellen projected unable to pay debts as soon as June 1, but won't give analysis to Congress. Some predict a "true x-date" of default of June 8 or 9. Negotiations between the Biden administration and House Republicans on raising the debt limit appear to be at a standstill.

The Blaze: Video: Thug repeatedly kicks woman's car amid violent street takeover — but message on his hoodie may be saddest part
A group of over 100 people blocked a road in Connecticut, carrying out donuts and other stunts and causing skid-marks before some of the group began kicking a woman's car. One of the perpetrators was seen on video wearing a hoodie with the message, "Love Never Fails." The woman's daughter started a GoFundMe page for the car, which was destroyed during the incident. A suspect, whom authorities identified as one of the ringleaders, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
