A New Low: Biden to Halt Familial DNA Testing at the Border
The Biden administration will end the practice of familial DNA testing at the southern border, with no rationale provided. The consequence will likely be more children being trafficked for forced labor, government benefits, and worse. This move may be an attempt by Biden to undo a Trump policy. The elimination of a system that can help keep children from being used for fraud or as slave laborers, drug mules, and prostitutes raises questions about the priorities of the Biden administration and Democrats.

Kari Lake Says 'Big Announcement' Coming After Judge Tosses Her Election Lawsuit
Republican Kari Lake, who lost last year’s Arizona gubernatorial election to Democrat Katie Hobbs by about 17,000 votes, has teased a “big announcement” on Twitter after a judge dismissed her signature verification lawsuit. Lake contested that Maricopa County did not verify signatures on mail ballots in accordance with the law but failed to provide sufficient evidence. There has been speculation that Lake may appeal the decision. Lake’s lawyer argued that too few workers were available to verify ballot signatures and that some 274,000 signatures were verified in less than two seconds each. But the judge ruled that the time spent on verifying each signature wasn’t relevant and did not amount to a violation of the law, confirming Hobbs’ election as Arizona governor.

Victims of Covid Vaccine Injuries Sue Biden Administration Over Censorship - The New American
Several people who suffered from Covid-19 vaccine injuries have filed a lawsuit against President Biden and his administration, claiming the government violated their free speech rights. The plaintiffs maintain that the government pressured social-media companies to flag and shut down accounts of people who shared “disfavored viewpoints” about their Covid vaccine experiences. The case challenges the government’s mass-censorship program and asserts that the plaintiffs were simply trying to discuss their injuries and experiences with others. The New Civil Liberties Alliance is representing the plaintiffs.

Ted Cruz reminds AOC her own Democrat Party founded KKK, wrote Jim Crow laws
Ted Cruz and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez engaged in a Twitter discussion on the history of political parties after Cruz criticized the NAACP for issuing a travel advisory against Florida. Cruz claimed that Democrats founded the KKK, wrote Jim Crow laws, and filibustered the Civil Rights Act. He also accused the Democratic Party of filibustering school choice, abolishing the police, and causing more Black lives to be murdered. Ocasio-Cortez invited Cruz to educate users on party history, but Cruz's response was not what she expected.

Trump is leading Biden by 7 points in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, per a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll, although the results may not be meaningful as there are still 18 months until the election. The poll also indicates that a majority of Americans view Russiagate and the Steele Dossier as false stories, while 59% believe the Hunter Biden laptop scandal was real.

The Epoch Times: Sorry, This Is Not Going Away
Sorry, This Is Not Going Away
The pandemic response caused severe economic, social, and political fallout, including educational setbacks, inflation, job losses, and distrust in government, with no justice or truth about the experience. An assessment report by the Covid Crisis Group whitewashes the pandemic response, blaming inadequate strategies and suggesting more surveillance, centralized authority, and funds. The report hardly criticizes the greatest intrusions on civil liberties in the peacetime history of the US and favors the lockdowns and mandates to be perpetuated. There is no new information in the report and no accountability or mention of Sweden, Ivermectin, Ventilators, Remdesivir, and Myocarditis. The future may hold Fauci to be scapegoated for the whole disaster, but the truth will eventually surface, as the problems mount.

CNN host inconveniences NAACP president with facts that bust NAACP's narrative about Florida: 'Doing quite well'
CNN host challenges NAACP president Derrick Johnson over travel advisory warning against traveling to Florida for African Americans, citing data from the Florida Chamber of Commerce that Florida is the no.1 spot in the US for black-owned businesses and that 13% of black voters voted for Gov. Ron DeSantis, but Johnson dismisses the data.

Sen. Scott responds to NAACP's Florida 'travel advisory' with one of his own for 'socialists'
Florida Senator Rick Scott issued a "travel advisory" warning "socialists" and "communists" that the state is "openly hostile" towards them and those who enable them. The advisory comes in response to the NAACP's travel warning for Black Americans against going to Florida, citing Governor Ron DeSantis' new law banning diversity initiatives on public college campuses. The Florida GOP senator denounced the NAACP's advisory as "discriminatory" and said Floridians want "more opportunity in our state." The NAACP board of directors chairman lives in Florida, and the organization's advisory was met with ridicule online.

Senate Dem cuts out GOP from whistleblower crying foul in Hunter Biden probe
Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has been denied access by Sen. Ron Wyden, Oregon Democrat to an IRS whistleblower investigation involving Hunter Biden's alleged tax fraud. Grassley, a co-chairman of the Whistleblower Protection Caucus, is being cut out from the congressional probe into the Justice Department and IRS probe of the alleged tax fraud, even though Grassley and his investigative team have been specifically included in the whistleblower's communications with Congress. The investigation comes after the IRS removed the "entire investigative team" from its multi-year tax fraud probe into Hunter Biden, which the whistleblower claims was "clearly retaliatory."

Stacey Abrams: Mississippi Is Ripe for Liberal Transformation
Liberal activist Stacey Abrams thinks Mississippi is ripe for a Democratic takeover, endorsing Democratic challenger Brandon Presley in the race for governor against Republican Tate Reeves in November. Abrams's involvement in the campaign could tarnish Presley's image as a bipartisan populist, however, given her co-chairing of a liberal group that works to defund police and her joining the board of a far-left foundation that funnels money to academics who advocate for the abolition of private property and prisons. Despite losing two gubernatorial campaigns herself, Abrams has been credited with transforming Georgia's electorate.

The Corner: Target Reportedly Moving ‘Pride’ Items to Back of Store to Avoid the Bud Light Treatment
Target employees in some rural Southern stores were instructed to move pride-related merchandise away from the front of their stores and to minimize signage. The move comes after Target's partnership with “PRIDE” brand Abprallen, which sells products that glorify violence against alleged ‘transphobes.’ Target customers have also posted videos and images of swimsuits with clothing tags that describe the items as having a “light binding effect” on breasts and “tuck-friendly construction” for male genitalia. Target’s claim that the “tuck-friendly” swimsuit is only for adults has been disputed, as the swimsuit is available in children’s sizes.

Morgan has also interviewed swimmer Riley Gaines for opposing transgender athletes in women's sports and has been called "right-wing" during the debate.

Foreign Policy: Turkey is the EU’s Only Hope
Turkey is the EU’s Only Hope
Turkey's exclusion from the EU has been a longstanding issue due to debates about European identity and xenophobia. If the pro-European opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu wins the upcoming runoff election and unseats President Erdogan, there may be a chance for renewed negotiations and Turkish inclusion in the EU, presenting an opportunity for economic and geopolitical benefits. However, there are concerns over Turkey's authoritarianism, repression of minorities, and potential risks to Europe's borders and security. Nonetheless, the possibility of Turkish EU membership offers Europe the chance to become its ideal self by demonstrating multiculturalism and overcoming cultural biases.

Japan defended the G-7 communiqué, saying the G-7 will continue to voice concerns unless China changes its behaviour. “China’s aim is to take control of Taiwan by any means necessary,” the communiqué said. The G-7 called on China to resolve peaceably the situation across the Taiwan Strait.

Meghan Markle honored at Gracie Awards; expert predicts 'show of emotion, maybe even tears'
Meghan Markle may appear at the 2023 Gracie Awards after her alleged car chase last week, according to royal experts. Markle was named a digital media national winner and it is unclear whether she will attend the awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," predicted Markle will attend to keep the PR momentum going, while royal expert Shannon Felton Spence noted that Prince Harry and Markle are likely to put on "a united front." However, Kinsey Schofield from the "To Di For" podcast believes Markle won't show due to being "shaken up" from the alleged car chase.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry lost his legal challenge to pay for police protection while in the UK, as the British government stopped providing security for him and Markle and their children after the couple made the decision to step back from their senior roles within the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex now live in California. Markle was recently announced as a Gracie Award winner and said in a statement at the time, "This is a shared success for me and the team behind ‘Archetypes’ — most of whom are women — and the inspiring guests who joined me each week."

The United States should diplomatically recognize Afghanistan’s Taliban government to avoid a dangerous descent into isolationism and have influence over events. The Taliban poses a threat to its own people, neighbors, and the United States, and previous attempts at moderation have failed. The US should engage with the Taliban to find a practical way forward and establish diplomatic channels to facilitate constructive dialogue.

Forbes: Hard Work And Ignoring The Naysayers Led To Fishers Island Lemonades Success
Hard Work And Ignoring The Naysayers Led To Fishers Island Lemonades Success
Fishers Island Lemonade, one of the first craft cocktails in a can, has been acquired by Spirit of Gallo, the fourth-largest spirits supplier in the US. Founder Bronya Shillo had to ignore naysayers who wanted to change the recipe and packaging and spent five years educating consumers on the merits of a spiked lemonade in a can before the pandemic hit and the brand benefited from the emerging ready-to-drink market. Recent line extensions and a trusted, authentic brand helped Fishers Island Lemonade gain wider distribution, and the deal with Spirit of Gallo positions it as a significant player in the expanding market.

Shillo will remain with the company and be its spokesperson while serving on its board. Plans call for the brand to build on its existing footprint in the Eastern US before expanding westward. With the support of Gallo, Fishers Island Lemonade hopes to introduce more drinkers to its family's cocktail through its brightly striped cans.

The Epoch Times: Bud Light Essentially Giving Beer Away During Memorial Day Weekend Amid Boycott
Bud Light Essentially Giving Beer Away During Memorial Day Weekend Amid Boycott
Bud Light offers up to $15 rebate on purchases of 15-pack or larger until May 31 in a marketing effort to bolster sales amid ongoing boycott, as the light beer's sales have dropped by 24.6 percent for the week ending May 13 compared to last year. Consumers must upload a picture of the UPC and receipt between May 17 and May 31 to obtain the rebate, and they must be at least 21 years of age or older, according to the site’s terms and conditions. The rebate means consumers can basically get a 15-pack of Bud Light for free. Meanwhile, rival light beers made by Miller and Coors have seen sales increases during the same timeframe, according to Bump Williams Consulting and Nielson IQ research.

Some conservative celebrities have called for a boycott of Bud Light following a transgender influencer's partnership, which suffered a viral opposition. Some local distributors have attempted to distance themselves from the social media posts but received no response from Anheuser-Busch or Bud Light corporate officials. During an earnings call earlier this month, the CEO of Anheuser-Busch InBev, Michel Doukeris, said he would triple its investment into Bud Light over the next summer and that the firm would provide "direct financial support" to front-line workers who affected by the boycott or the incentive campaign. Doukeris also said it was too early to tell the overall impact of the boycott, which represents about 1 percent of the company's overall global volume.

The Epoch Times: Orange County Power Authority is Still Playing the Community
Orange County Power Authority is Still Playing the Community
The Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) is facing foundational issues after losing members and internal problems threatening its survival. OCPA has been found to shift extra costs onto residential ratepayers to avoid alienating larger customers by relying on the advice of a consultant behind many community choice energy agencies in California. This has led to accusations of gaming and misrepresenting prices to the community. It has also neglected key regulatory mandates, green-washed its energy, and left others to shoulder its share for maintaining the electric grid's reliability in its drive for profits rather than service to the community.

If OCPA fails, it is feared "OCPAs" will fill the void, reliability will fall, and prices will climb. Some OCPA member cities have already switched their constituents to pricey "100% Renewable Energy" products, ignoring regulatory oversight. OCPA claims its prices are "2% lower" than Southern California Edison's, but not on an apples-to-apples basis. It loads extra costs of up to 51% onto residential ratepayers, compared to commercial and industrial customers for the exact same energy product. OPCA is charging more and delivering less to residents, indicating that its not-for-profit motto is a guise for making money. The agency should return its "reserves" to the community with which it is far out of touch and close its doors to stop the gaming of consumers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reversed their decision to remove the radical anti-Catholic LGBT group, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, from its “Pride Night” game next month and will now present them with a “Community Hero Award”. Christians were offended and called for a boycott of corporate entities like the Dodgers.

Popular contact lenses could contain toxic ‘forever chemicals,’ new study finds
A new study by Mamavation finds that soft contact lenses in the US could contain toxic "forever chemicals." All 18 sets of popular soft contact lenses were sent to an EPA-certified lab to search for indications of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,'' are most often used in products as stain-, oil-, and water-resistant chemicals. Exposure to PFAS chemicals could cause lower immunity, increased cholesterol levels, metabolic diseases like obesity and diabetes, cardiovascular disease, lowered fertility in men and women, increased risk of kidney and testicular cancers and other side effects.

Ohio Abortion Amendment Threatens Parents And The Unborn
Pro-abortion groups in Ohio are pushing for an amendment to the state constitution to enshrine abortion, which threatens the lives of unborn babies and poses a risk to parental rights. Ohio Republicans passed a resolution allowing voters in August to decide if constitutional amendments should only pass with a supermajority, 60% threshold vote. Pro-life groups have warned that the vagueness of the amendment opens the door to an assault on unborn lives and parental rights. Several of the amendment’s proponents aim to eradicate laws requiring minors to obtain parental consent before undergoing an abortion.
