Fox News: Biden admin pulls grant for energy firm with Chinese ties in stunning reversal
Biden admin pulls grant for energy firm with Chinese ties in stunning reversal
The Biden administration has reversed its plans to award a $200 million grant to Microvast, a Texas-based maker of technology for electric vehicle batteries with Chinese ties, after pressure from Republican lawmakers. The Department of Energy informed Congress that the grant would no longer be awarded, citing the company's close ties to Communist China and the potential for the Chinese government to intervene in its business activities. Microvast was earmarked to receive the grant under the 2021 infrastructure package, but 69% of its revenue was generated in China and just 3% from the US according to SEC filings.

Minnesota wraps up budget negotiations, Democrats rejoice over key policy wins
Minnesota Democrats celebrate enacting an ambitious budget that includes $3 billion in tax cuts, new funding for education and transportation, a new paid family and medical leave program, and legalizing recreational marijuana. Republicans are upset that Democrats spent most of the budget surplus instead of returning it to taxpayers and raised taxes by $2.2 billion over the next two years. Democrats tout the tax bill as the largest tax cut in state history, with direct rebates of $260 per filer and up to three dependents, plus tax credits for families with kids that will cut child poverty by a third.

FBI expects Congress to be 'sheep,' ignore allegations of abuse while bureau plans $4B new HQ: Top Republican
Rep. Andy Biggs accuses the FBI of having a political agenda and pressuring the rest of the organization to achieve it, even to the point of "spying on American citizens" and interfering in presidential elections. The accusations were made after a series of revelations and whistleblower allegations against the bureau were aired last Thursday. The FBI has come under scrutiny recently following the release of the Durham report, which determined there was no basis for the bureau to launch the probe into alleged collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia, and senior FBI personnel displayed a lack of analytical rigor towards politically-affiliated entities.

Reporter Flusters NAACP President With Inconvenient Facts About Ron DeSantis and Black Voters
NAACP president Derrick Johnson appeared on CNN to promote the organization's "travel advisory" for Florida, which accused Governor Ron DeSantis of being "openly hostile" to the black community. CNN anchor Sara Sidner noted that Florida had recently become the number one state for black-owned businesses and the second for Hispanic businesses, which angered Johnson. Sidner mentioned exit poll numbers from the 2022 gubernatorial race in Florida, which showed that 13% of black voters and 58% of Hispanic voters supported DeSantis. Johnson denied reality and claimed that DeSantis is only catering to a small minority of the community.

JESSE WATTERS: The racial stink bomb is the left's weapon of choice
The NAACP issued a travel advisory for Florida and Fox News host Jesse Watters criticized them for it. He accused the left of using race as a weapon and suggested that the travel advisory was politically motivated because Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to announce a presidential run. Watters pointed out that the chairman of the NAACP lives in Florida and that other high-profile individuals also own property there, implying that the travel advisory lacks teeth. He also made jokes about the playoff picture and whether Black people who voted for DeSantis know how dangerous he is.

The Federalist Papers: Cameras Capture AOC Telling DeSantis to 'Read a Bible' After Gov's Comments on Daniel Penny
Cameras Capture AOC Telling DeSantis to 'Read a Bible' After Gov's Comments on Daniel Penny
Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis to "read a Bible" following his praise of a retired marine now accused of manslaughter in a man's accidental death. Ocasio-Cortez took issue with the reference to the Book of Luke, suggesting DeSantis should familiarize himself with both the Old and New Testaments. She made these comments after attending the funeral of the slain man and hung her head out of the window of her vehicle to pose for selfies. This is not the first time Ocasio-Cortez has tried to appear on the correct side of the Gospel, with her comments on a Super Bowl ad and celebrating Tucker Carlson's deplatforming.

As a leftist who encourages fascist tactics, Ocasio-Cortez is the spiritual descendant of totalitarian communists. Her references to the Bible, therefore, must be viewed in the same manner as her appearance at the Neely funeral: pure theater. In 1962, Martin Luther King Jr. concluded that communist and Christian association was impossible, and if the last 100 years of history proved anything, it was that those who violate civil rights are themselves the fascists. Ocasio-Cortez's hypocrisy and flippant-sounding statements showcase her eagerness to engage in self-promotion.

The Epoch Times: States Living Off Depleted Colorado River All Agree to Landmark Water Cuts
States Living Off Depleted Colorado River All Agree to Landmark Water Cuts
California, Arizona, and Nevada have agreed to cut at least 3 million acre-feet of water through 2026 to protect the Colorado River Basin from the current drought conditions, the southwestern states announced on Monday. California, the state with the largest water consumption from the Colorado River, will see reductions up to 1.6 million acre-feet through 2026. The river supplies water to 40 million people across seven U.S. states, parts of Mexico, and more than two dozen Native American tribes.

As part of the initiative, farmers, tribes, and cities in the southwestern states will receive short-term payments in exchange for water savings. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland praised the progress made in efforts to protect the stability and sustainability of the Colorado River System now and into the future. The river's woes have forced the federal government to cut some water allocations and offer up billions of dollars to pay farmers, cities, and others to cut back.
