Newsbusters: TV Journalists Cheer NAACP’s Absurd ‘Travel Advisory’ Dinging DeSantis
TV Journalists Cheer NAACP’s Absurd ‘Travel Advisory’ Dinging DeSantis
CNN and MSNBC have been promoting the NAACP's travel advisory warning black Americans against visiting Florida, without mentioning the organization's far-left leanings. MSNBC fill-in host Charles Blow even speculated that the advisory could lead to a mass-exodus from Florida. However, Florida was actually the fastest-growing state in 2022, according to the US Census Bureau. The NAACP's president and CEO, Derrick Johnson, received more free publicity when he appeared on CNN and MSNBC to discuss the advisory. None of the TV journalists covering the story challenged the NAACP's claim of "non-partisanship," even though its members have only donated to Democrats since 2016.

National Review: E. Jean Carroll Asks for ‘Very Substantial’ Damages after Trump’s CNN Town Hall
E. Jean Carroll Asks for ‘Very Substantial’ Damages after Trump’s CNN Town Hall
E. Jean Carroll seeks "very substantial" damages from Donald Trump following a CNN town hall in which he called her a "whack job". Carroll was awarded $5 million in damages after Trump was found liable by a Manhattan jury for sexual abuse and defamation. Now, Carroll is seeking at least $10 million more in damages and claims a number of Trump's comments during the CNN town hall were defamatory. She is seeking a punitive damages award to punish Trump, deter him from engaging in further defamation, and deter others from doing the same. Trump denies Carroll's accusation that he sexually assaulted her in the mid-1990s and filed an appeal against the jury's verdict earlier this month.

The Epoch Times: California Zero-Carbon Mandates Boost China’s Control of Cobalt
California Zero-Carbon Mandates Boost China’s Control of Cobalt
California imposing a zero-carbon vehicle mandate by 2035 without securing a cobalt market beforehand will benefit China, the main market for the mineral required for batteries, warns a new book, “Cobalt Red: How the Blood of the Congo Powers Our Lives,” by Siddharth Kara. The Democratic Republic of the Congo mines 75% of the world’s cobalt, with hideous human rights abuses of the miners, while China’s role in exploiting the resources and disregarding human rights is highlighted. Lithium-cobalt-oxide (Li-Co-O2), or LCO, batteries, which China also mines, provide high energy density, allowing them to store more power per weight of battery, and researchers are a "decade or more away" from producing commercially-viable cobalt-free alternatives.

Governor Gavin Newsom renewed California’s memorandum of understanding with China to “reduce carbon emissions and air pollution, and promote clean energy development,” but critics argue the state should have first demanded China reduce its environmental impact on the DRC as the nation dominates the global cobalt market. California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CalOSHA) should also insist the Congo adopts strict safety standards for miners, although mine safety training to comply with US Mine Safety and Health Administration rules cannot enforce regulations for artisanal mining. The proposed new US rules to make two-thirds of US vehicles electric by 2032 could benefit China’s control of the global cobalt market and overlooks human rights concerns in the Congo.

This ????expenditure sheet???? shows just how much Trump fears DeSantis getting into the race and it’s mind boggling…
Trump's SuperPAC MAGA, Inc has spent over $15.3M on attack ads against potential presidential candidate Governor DeSantis.

The SuperPAC spent $2.8M on anti-DeSantis ads last week alone, surpassing the amount spent on all 2022 midterm races. Trump's insistence that DeSantis is not a viable candidate is contradicted by the significant amount of money being poured into attacking him.

Trump accuser E Jean Carroll motions to amend lawsuit to include statements made by former president to CNN
E. Jean Carroll is seeking to amend her defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump to include comments he made at a CNN town hall earlier this month. Trump was previously found liable for sexual abuse and defamation, but not rape, by a federal jury and ordered to pay $5 million to Carroll. The motion to amend the lawsuit looks to increase the amount of damages sought by Carroll and is based on Trump's response to the verdict during the town hall.

Dozens of Senators Issued Taxpayer-Funded Emergency Satellite Phones Amid Security Risks
Over 50 Senators received emergency satellite phones funded by taxpayers as a part of new security measures implemented after the January 6 Capitol riot. The technology was deployed to ensure redundant and secure communication during disruptive events, according to Senate Sergeant at Arms Karen Gibson. The Department of Homeland Security issued an advisory explaining the use of mobile phones for emergency communications during natural disasters or man-made incidents. The legislation requires enhancing member protection by expanding Dignitary Protection Division services and expanding USCP field office presence, according to CBS.

Newsbusters: MEDIA FAIL: New Poll Shows Majority of Americans Have ‘Negative’ View of George Soros
MEDIA FAIL: New Poll Shows Majority of Americans Have ‘Negative’ View of George Soros
A survey by Rasmussen Reports and ColemanNation podcast show that a majority of Americans view George Soros, a liberal billionaire activist, unfavorably, with 51% of respondents reporting negative opinions of him. This poll’s release comes after Elon Musk compared Soros to Magneto and criticized him for trying to “erode the very fabric of civilization.” Despite the media’s attempt to shield Soros and portray his opponents as anti-Semitic, 47% of voters agree with Musk, including 35% who strongly agree that Soros “hates humanity.”

Soros has spent over billions towards creating a crazy open society utopia underpinned by open borders, racial strife, Marxist economics, anti-Americanism, and climate change radicalism. Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz even pointed out that “no single person has done more to damage Israel’s standing in the world, especially among so-called progressives, than George Soros.” With Soros' funding of atleast $131 million on 253 media organisations across the globe, his media reach influences coverage of him in major publications such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, CBS, CNN, and ABC by attacking critics of Soros as anti-Semitic. Conservatives demand that the media stop portraying Soros as some kind of a victim and cover the truth about the man.

Atlantic City casino profits down 15% in 1 year
Atlantic City's nine casinos collectively saw a 15% decline in gross operating profit in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the previous year, with the Borgata, Hard Rock, and Tropicana being among the hardest hit. The casinos posted a total operating profit of $135.4 million, down from $159 million in Q1 of 2022. The decline in profits is attributed to higher costs, including significantly higher wages agreed upon in a landmark contract reached last summer and inflation.

Minneapolis Fed Pres: Inflation 'Entrenched at a Very High Level' and Bank Stress Isn't Helping
Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari has said that inflation is "entrenched" and "high," with "services inflation seeming pretty darn entrenched" so far. He added that the banking system is not helping to reduce inflation and will likely continue to face stresses as long as inflation remains high. Kashkari also said that markets seem optimistic that rates will fall and that he hopes they are right. He believes that the end of the coronavirus pandemic will greatly help the Fed's efforts to fight inflation.

The song takes aim at multiple aspects of woke culture including targeted children by the transgender movement, university indoctrination and crime causing the collapse of major cities. Varble claims the song is all about people "thinking what they're too afraid to say in public". Speaking to Breitbart News' editor-in-chief Alex Marlow, Varble claimed that Nashville has turned more to the left in the last couple of decades, but also stated that country music must sing to its audience, even if that means neglecting far-left lyrics.

The debate was sparked by a recent survey that found around 70% of Americans cheated on their partners while attending a bachelor or bachelorette party, with receiving a lap dance being the most common way to act out. Hostin initially said lap dancing wasn't cheating, but changed her mind after receiving a lap dance from Goldberg on live television.

Low back pain cases in Australia are projected to increase by 50% by 2050, contributing to an estimated 800 million cases globally. The leading cause of disability in the world, low back pain is expected to worsen due to population aging and growth, putting pressure on healthcare systems. At least a third of the disability burden associated with low back pain is caused by occupational factors, smoking, and obesity, and the condition is more common among older people and women. A national, consistent approach is needed to address the issue.

The abuse reportedly included the phrases "Go back to where you came from, you asshole," and "Suck it, you're not wanted in NASCAR." Some are calling the outbursts "racist," and while Wallace is not NASCAR's only black driver, he is the only one currently racing on the Cup Series circuit. Breitbart: New EPA Rule 'All Out Attack' on Texas Energy, Education Funding, Says Land Commissioner
New EPA Rule 'All Out Attack' on Texas Energy, Education Funding, Says Land Commissioner
Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham has criticized a proposed EPA rule change that would require most coal and natural gas plants to capture 90% of emissions by 2035, calling it "an all-out attack" on the energy industry, taxpayers, and public education in the state. Buckingham also stated that the rule was arbitrary and not prompted by congressional action, as well as being an attempt to end domestic oil and gas production. Officials with the Texas General Land Office explained that the rule would burden gas-fired plants with untenable restrictions, although EPA officials said there would be ample lead time for power companies to comply.

STUDY: AP Pushes Woke Terms Across 64 Climate Stories After $8M Grant from Leftist Orgs
The Associated Press (AP) has been accused of pushing climate change alarmism and promoting woke environmental, social, governance (ESG) efforts across 64 climate-related stories after receiving an $8m grant from leftist non-profit organisations. Among the groups funding AP are the Rockefeller Foundation, Quadrivium (news Corp. Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch’s estranged son and climate activist James Murdoch’s activist organisation), and Walmart's Walton Family Foundation, giving the impression to critics that the news outlet had become a de facto mouthpiece for its major left-wing donors obsessed with pushing apocalyptic climate narratives. Despite AP's commitment to “unbiased and fact-based” reporting, MRC Business analysts found "leftist buzzwords" and "terms on climate issues" framing stories in a way that made the issue appear apocalyptic.
