Breitbart: Breitbart Business Digest: America Has the Bidenflation Blues
Breitbart Business Digest: America Has the Bidenflation Blues
More than a third of Americans reported declining financial well-being last year, despite record low unemployment rates. The Federal Reserve’s annual survey found that 35% of adults said they were worse off in 2022 than they were in 2021, the highest level since the annual survey began in 2014. The least-educated, black and Hispanic Americans were the hardest hit. The share of adults saying they were doing okay financially fell from 78% in 2021 to 73% in 2022, the lowest since 2016. Sixty-four percent of people stopped using or switched to cheaper products due to inflation while 51% of adults reduced savings to cope.

Americans’ economic dourness has led to widespread disapproval of President Biden’s economic policies. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that just 33% of Americans approved of Biden’s economy, and even among Democrats, only 61% expressed support for Biden’s economic policies. In a separate poll, Gallup reported that 60% of Americans believe their federal taxes were too high. People’s perception of their own financial well-being has also made them negative about the national economy. A gap of 55 percentage points between their perception of the national economy and their finances has opened up.

The Federalist: IRS Threatened Hunter Biden Whistleblower For Internal Email
IRS Threatened Hunter Biden Whistleblower For Internal Email
An IRS whistleblower and his team were removed from the Hunter Biden probe by the Justice Department, raising allegations of political retaliation against whistleblowers. The whistleblower’s attorney and Empower Oversight have sent a letter to the IRS Commissioner providing evidence of intimidation. The Inspector-General has since investigated the Justice Department, finding that they did not improperly interfere with Hunter Biden.

The whistleblower's email to IRS leadership expresses concern over his removal from the Hunter Biden criminal investigation and the lack of communication regarding this decision. The letter from Empower Oversight notes that agencies should not require whistleblowers to seek approval before speaking out and that they must take steps to prevent retaliation against whistleblowers. The response from the whistleblower’s supervisor warning agents to obey the “chain of command” appears to be an attempt to intimidate employees from speaking out.

The New American: Behind the Deep State | FBI Exposed as Deep State Tentacle: Will There be Justice? - The New American
The FBI is a dangerous tentacle of the Deep State, protecting criminal members such as the Biden family from prosecution, according to Alex Newman. The House Oversight Committee proved that the Bidens made millions from the CCP, but the FBI and DOJ have done nothing. John Durham exposed criminal conspiracy in the FBI and intelligence agencies against the Trump administration, but no charges were recommended. The truth is out about the Deep State's weaponization of federal law enforcement against America.

Breitbart: Minneapolis Fed Pres: Inflation 'Entrenched at a Very High Level' and Bank Stress Isn't Helping
Minneapolis Fed Pres: Inflation 'Entrenched at a Very High Level' and Bank Stress Isn't Helping
Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari has said that inflation is "entrenched" and "high," with "services inflation seeming pretty darn entrenched" so far. He added that the banking system is not helping to reduce inflation and will likely continue to face stresses as long as inflation remains high. Kashkari also said that markets seem optimistic that rates will fall and that he hopes they are right. He believes that the end of the coronavirus pandemic will greatly help the Fed's efforts to fight inflation.

Breitbart: Survey of Economists: Bidenflation Will Remain Stubbornly High
Survey of Economists: Bidenflation Will Remain Stubbornly High
Inflation is expected to remain high, reaching 4.2 percent in 2023, more than double the Fed's target. President Biden's 40-year-high inflation has cost American households an extra $5,200 per year, negatively impacting home ownership goals. Inflation could cause the economy to slip into a recession. House Republicans are negotiating with Biden to cut wasteful spending in the same bill that would raise the debt limit.

Red State: Another Round of Layoffs for Disney, and Ron DeSantis Cannot Be Blamed This Time
Another Round of Layoffs for Disney, and Ron DeSantis Cannot Be Blamed This Time
Disney is set to cut 2,500 jobs, bringing the total for 2023 to 7,000. This follows similar cost-cutting measures at various media companies amid the pandemic. The company has also seen a drop in subscribers to its streaming platform, Disney+. The cancellation of a project to build a new campus in Florida was not political retribution against Governor Ron DeSantis, but the result of Bob Iger's reluctance to proceed with the project. The ongoing writer's strike in Hollywood is also negatively impacting the entertainment industry with many streaming services consolidating and culling content. The poor economy and industry mean the writers are not negotiating from a position of strength.

The Corner: The Rationality of ‘Rational Expectations’
Robert Lucas's "rational expectations" contribution to economics is often misunderstood as assuming people are super intelligent machines; it's really just a humility condition - "consistent expectations," where one doesn't assume the public believes in something without evidence.

The Imaginative Conservative: Is American Theater Really Dead?
Is American Theater Really Dead?
Theater is in decline, exemplified by this year's Tony Awards which were mostly banal. However, the political implications of its failure are significant. Popular entertainment is where a polity goes to do its philosophizing, and theater has lost its sense of power. Movies and television are dominant, but nothing compares to the kinetic energy of live actors. We must not let the traditional theater go to seed and promote works that inspire healthier self-reflection. Those concerned with the political good should encourage and promote theater that provokes contemplation.

College graduation commencement speakers overwhelmingly liberal, segregated ceremonies on the rise: Survey
A new report from the Young America Foundation reveals that far-left speakers dominate commencement ceremonies at top universities, with only a single conservative voice making it to the podium out of the 100 schools surveyed. They also found that 86 out of the 100 schools organized segregated ceremonies catering to various demographic groups.
