Newsbusters: How Much Does PolitiFact Favor Kamala Harris Over Mike Pence? Bigly
"Independent fact-checkers" selectively fact-check Democrats in their favor, including Kamala Harris. PolitiFact has only checked Harris six times, with four being "Mostly True." In comparison, Mike Pence, who has also been fact-checked six times, received only "False" or "Half True" ratings. PolitiFact's latest check on Harris confirmed her statement on Latino businesses, citing a Joint Economic Committee report and research from a nonprofit. However, Harris has not received a "Pants on Fire" rating despite false claims on border security and visiting the border. Overall, Harris has landed on the True side 48.5% of the time, while Pence was accurate only 17% in 70 fact-checks.

National Review: Florida and Texas Defend Kids against Gender Madness
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a package of bills designed to prevent LGBT overreach in the state, saying that Florida represents a refuge of sanity. The Let Kids Be Kids package aims to ban gender-affirming clinical malpractice, require written consent for receiving gender transition medications, and ban pornographic material in school libraries. The package also prohibits businesses from knowingly admitting minors to sexually explicit adult performances, requires sex-segregated or single-stall unisex bathrooms and changing facilities, and prohibits compulsory pronoun declarations and LGBT instruction in pre-K through eighth grade. The state will also oversee the Florida High School Athletic Association to protect female athletics from gender-confused competitors.

Fox News: Biden foreign policy strategy opens the door to China, other adversaries, experts say
President Biden's foreign policy decisions have led to America being seen as a weakened global leader, according to Fred Zeidman, co-chair and director of Council for a Secure America. Zeidman believes Biden's foreign policy philosophy, which dates back to the Obama administration, has weakened America’s military and limited the country's ability to project power. He also criticized Biden's energy policies, which have left the US dependent on foreign sources of energy, and argued that the administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan has emboldened American adversaries. National Review: Bill Cassidy’s Well-Intentioned but Misguided Social Security Reform
Senator Bill Cassidy has proposed a bipartisan social security reform plan which would involve the government borrowing $1.5tn to be invested in the stock market. While Cassidy deserves credit, his idea is not particularly good and could be seen as a tax increase in disguise. Policy makers have known for decades that Social Security would require reform, but they have not wanted to choose between increasing revenues or reducing benefits. Cassidy proposes increasing funding via federal government borrowing over five years, to be reinvested into riskier instruments. This is similar to President Clinton’s proposal to invest a proportion of the Social Security trust fund in stocks, however Cassiday’s proposal relies on borrowing money. This is akin to a borrow-to-invest strategy used in pension, and there are doubts over the risk and instability it could pose to federal government finances. The federal government would have to repay the principal and interest at the government-bond yield, with any remaining proceeds being the difference between the government bond interest and any return gained on the risky investments, which could expose taxpayers, creditors and American federal programme beneficiaries to the financial risks. The fact that the federal government would take on this risk doesn’t make this a good idea either. A more rational approach would be to consider options to keep revenues flowing into the program or cutting benefits; Cassidy's plan would only suit politicians who cannot stomach either option.

The Epoch Times: Overweight Adults at Higher Risk of Colorectal Cancer, Study Finds
Obesity can increase the risk of colorectal cancer (CRC), according to a study analyzing 135,161 individuals aged 55-74. During the follow-up, 34,946 people were diagnosed with cancer, with 5,088 being gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, including 2,803 CRC cases. Bryan Kohberger, accused of killing four college students in Idaho, will face arraignment on Monday. If he enters a plea, prosecutors have 60 days to formally file their intent to seek the death penalty. Kohberger's defense team recently added a top criminal defense lawyer in Idaho certified to handle death penalty cases. If a plea deal is worked out, the defense hopes to avoid death row. Kohberger could face the death penalty on any of the four first-degree murder charges. There's a chance that the sides could reach a deal for Kohberger to plead guilty to the murders in exchange to be spared from death row.
