Fox News: First on Fox: Trump ally Sen JD Vance endorses in Ohio’s 2024 GOP Senate primary, backing Bernie Moreno
Ohio Senator JD Vance is endorsing Bernie Moreno in the Republican primary to take on longtime Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown next year. Moreno, a successful Cleveland-based business leader, suspended his 2022 Senate campaign after meeting with former President Donald Trump and invested millions of his own money to run TV commercials. Vance defeated Democratic Representative Tim Ryan in last November's general election to succeed retired Republican Senator Rob Portman. The upcoming race is important, as the winner of the GOP primary could determine if the Republicans will win back the Senate majority.
American Thinker: CNN and the Art of Smearing Innocent People
The Steele dossier was never verified but the media still ran with it, engaging in non-stop coverage since it was leaked by the Hillary campaign. Jake Tapper introduced the dossier and many other accusations against Trump on CNN, even without evidence. This confirms the media's confirmation bias and lack of journalistic integrity.
The Epoch Times: Elon Musk Praises Tim Scott’s Political Ad Ahead of Senator’s Announcement Monday
Elon Musk praised South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott for his message of personal responsibility ahead of Scott's announcement of a potential 2024 presidential bid. Scott said children need to be taught the importance of individual responsibility, adding "If you are able-bodied, you work. If you take out a loan, you pay it back. If you commit a violent crime, you go to jail." Other major Republican 2024 challengers include former President Donald Trump, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and conservative radio host Larry Elder.
Fox News: Tim Scott says GOP voters have ‘hunger’ for positive, conservative message as he declares 2024 candidacy
Republican Senator Tim Scott has announced his candidacy for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination with an "optimistic, positive message anchored in conservatism". GOP presidential primary voters are said to be hungry for what he is preaching, despite the field including former President Donald Trump. Scott is the only Black Republican in the Senate and is expected to court evangelical Christian voters playing a role in GOP politics in Iowa and his home state.
Washington Free Beacon: Joe Manchin Says He's a Climate Moderate. He Just Voted To Confirm Radical Energy Nominee Who Wants To Kill the Coal Industry.
Senator Joe Manchin has voted to confirm a Biden nominee who wants to eradicate the coal industry, mandate that major corporations become "carbon neutral" by 2025, and urged activists to "name and shame" companies that fail to fall in line. Manchin recently threatened to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, a massive climate-heavy spending bill that he negotiated last year with Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.). ( )
David Crane, a former director at the state-owned Saudi Electricity Company, wants to eradicate the coal industry, mandate that major corporations become "carbon neutral" by 2025, and urged activists to "name and shame" companies that fail to fall in line. Manchin’s vote highlights the tightrope he’s tried to walk as a red state Democrat facing a difficult election year. In 2016, Crane urged activists to mount a campaign to "name and shame" corporations that fail to cut their energy usage to the liking of environmental activists. ( )

American Thinker: Good Samaritans are Now Chumps and Criminals
- Recent news stories reveal how modern society often ignores the parable of the Good Samaritan. Ex-Marine Daniel Penny was arrested for alleged manslaughter after restraining an unruly subway troublemaker in New York City who had a long history of criminal acts and mental illness. Penny was acting to protect other subway passengers, but society is now questioning who the Good Samaritan is, and whether following the words of Jesus is still possible. The trial's outcome will set a new standard for future NYC subway safety and potentially increase crime if being a Good Samaritan becomes a criminal act.

Foreign Policy: Turn Ukraine Into a Bristling Porcupine
The West must have a game plan to deter future Russian aggression following the eventual end of Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine. One option is to turn Ukraine into a formidable military porcupine with hardened, lethal quills, armed to the hilt with massive Western training and other support, so that it would be all but impossible for Russia to swallow. This should be accomplished by a core group of countries coordinated under a military assistance command under the auspices of the United States.
An ideal porcupine strategy is built around the assumption that the defender’s sharp quills can inflict enough pain on the attacker to convince him that he will not attain his goals on the battlefield. It goes beyond specific hardware and requires investments in new battle management systems, machine-learning algorithms that quickly identify Russian targets and recommend a unit or weapon to engage them, and sustained investments in new sensors, such as uncrewed aerial vehicles used for intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance missions, as well as new satellite constellations. The strongest deterrent against a future war in Eastern Europe will lie not only in Ukraine’s capacity to be a bristling porcupine, but also in all of Europe’s ability to defend itself against future Russian aggression.

Foreign Policy: Modi Wants to Bring Tourists Back to Kashmir
This week, India will host the G-20 summit in Srinagar, hoping to draw attention to the region's beauty and potential for tourism. However, despite progress in the development of infrastructure and a decrease in militant recruitment, Kashmir remains a heavily militarized and disputed region with severe restrictions on movement and expression. The insurgency has led to the deaths of around 60,000 people, and separatist violence has spiked in the lead-up to the summit. Investment in the region has also decreased, and locals continue to suffer from high rates of unemployment, mental disorders, and conflict-related trauma.

Forbes: Credit Suisse Workers Gear Up To Sue Swiss Regulator Over $400 Million In Lost Bonuses, Report Says
Senior Credit Suisse staff are planning to sue Swiss financial regulator Finma over the cancellation of over $400 million worth of bonuses following the bank's rescue by rival UBS. The issue stems from the Swiss government's unorthodox decision to wipe around $17 billion of bonds as part of the emergency rescue, which has contributed to a number of legal challenges. The now wiped debt helped determine the value of part of the bonuses awarded to thousands of senior bankers at Credit Suisse, some dating back to 2014. It has not been confirmed whether the employees' case will be separate or tacked onto existing litigation.
UBS agreed to buy Credit Suisse for $3.2bn in March following concerns over the bank's financial health. It has been widely suggested that the deal was brokered by the Swiss government following worries that the banks' troubles would spread and cause economic shockwaves. The discounted sale has prompted raised eyebrows, as has the Swiss regulators' lack of prioritisation of bondholders over shareholders. The move has already sparked lawsuits from Credit Suisse bondholders.
Fox News: Higher mortgage fees for those with good credit? Not so fast
The Federal Housing Finance Agency's loan-level price adjustment matrix is causing confusion with the media's claims that higher credit scores will result in hundreds of dollars more being paid in LLPA fees. However, the matrix works like a roulette table, with winners and losers depending on the size of the down payment and credit score. All borrowers will now pay less in fees if their down payment is less than 5%, and those with a credit score of 780 or higher will either receive a reduction in fees or no increase at all. Borrowers with a down payment of 15% but less than 20% and a credit score of 780+ are penalized. Despite some fee increases, they are unlikely to amount to hundreds of dollars per month.

Fox News: Fetterman wearing ‘hoodies and gym shorts’ in Senate shows ‘robust recovery,’ AP report claims
Sources say that Senator John Fetterman's hoodie and gym shorts look is a sign of his recovery from a stroke and depression. Despite some backlash, Fetterman is being praised for his relaxed, comfortable style and has even found a way to vote without breaking Senate dress code rules. However, his speech difficulties continue to be a concern, with reports indicating that his staff has doctored some of his quotes to make him sound more coherent.

Fox News: Retired cyclocross champion speaks out on trans athletes in women's sports: 'This is not fair sport'
Hannah Arensman, a superstar cyclist, retired from the sport after losing to transgender female Austin Killips at an event in December. Arensman was one of 67 athletes to support a West Virginia law to keep transgender student-athletes to play against those with the same biological gender. In a recent interview, Arensman spoke out against the influx of transgender female athletes competing against biological women, calling it unfair.

Fox News: Michael J. Fox, Dolly Parton among stars who struggled with poverty before Hollywood success
Several Hollywood celebrities have shared stories of growing up in poverty and struggling to make it in the entertainment industry. Michael J. Fox, Dolly Parton, Chris Pratt, Shania Twain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Leonardo DiCaprio all faced varying degrees of financial hardship before achieving success. Fox revealed he was dumpster diving for food before landing the role of Alex P. Keaton on "Family Ties," while Parton grew up in a one-bedroom cabin with her parents and 11 siblings. Pratt lived in a van in Hawaii and relied on food banks as a child, and Twain worked as a singer at 8 years old to help her family. Schwarzenegger had no running water and experienced extreme poverty growing up in Austria, and DiCaprio grew up in a crime-stricken area of Los Angeles. Oprah Winfrey, worth billions today, also spent much of her childhood in poverty and wore dresses made of potato sacks, relying on welfare to survive.
Forbes: Clean Energy Provisions In The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Of 2022
President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, a scaled-down version of the Build Back Better Act. The $737 billion bill includes climate change initiatives, the largest investment of its kind in U.S. history, and aims to reduce emissions by approximately 40% by 2030. The IRA includes around two dozen tax provisions that will save families money on their energy bills and allocate $369 billion to grant and loan programs and other incentives to drive clean energy and climate action. Key provisions include investments in electric vehicles, clean energy manufacturing, energy efficiency, and streamlining the clean energy project development process. The act aims to reduce the country's dependence on foreign oil while creating clean energy jobs and stimulating economic growth.
